How to transition from being in sleep paralysis to having an OBE?

Has anybody had an experience where they've managed to go from being in sleep paralysis to having an out-of-body experience? This happened to me just the other night - I was in the beginning stages of a WILD, in that I had become paralyzed, heard loud, rushing noises, and was beginning to make out a number of hypnagogic visuals. Rather than allowing myself to fall into a dream, as is typical for me, I instead concentrating on moving my consciousness outside of my body. The process felt as if it took several minutes, but I eventually found myself floating about a foot below my ceiling. I couldn't move or look around, though I did begin to drift upward before being "sucked" back into my body.

This has never happened before, and I'd like to duplicate, if not intensify, the experience.

Just to clarify, I don't believe in "spiritual" OBEs or astral projection. I know that I never actually left my bed in any sense; nonetheless, I was still euphoric at being able to feel as if I were freely flying.

Does anybody have any tips on how to make this occur more often? How can I gain control over myself while "outside" of my body, and how can I possibly prolong my journeys?

I think you should just do exactly what you did the first time. Looks like that's the way to go. When you in OBE, you have to move at least 10 feet away from your sleeping body, so you don't get sucked back in. I don't know, how to stay that way longer.

Something like that happened to me, and I asked about it in a recent post. I was WILDing and after some visuals I wished my dream body to lift up and split second later I was floating maybe 15 inches above my bed. I didn't wish to go any higher, maybe that's why I didn't end up under the ceiling.

What I wanted, was to stand up and be in a lucid dream. So I willed my body to float over carpet and keep going and next thing I know, I'm floating through my kitchen in sleeping position and through the wall. I emerge on the other side in an LD.

When this happened to me first time, I was also WILDing and trying to enter a dream. Then I felt my covers to lift up higher and my buoyant body filling up the space. I pushed my head down, got the fast moving feeling and entered an LD. So this time I thought I try to levitate again and see what happenes. But I have no idea, what it was, when I floated out. Next time I'll try to look and see my sleeping body, then I'll know, it's an OBE.

      Perfect!

Glad u guys wrote about this...finally stopped "fighting" SP and that's good. Don't recall what happened next tho. I went somewhere-about idk, a year ago? I wrote about this place...on forums, even here! But under a diff username. "BeenThere2" or something! Haha-I changed my UN, but now I'm too lazy to rewrite about the experience. Def went somewhere, while asleep...it was no dream!
Anyway, ever since-more sleep paralysis than ever! I'd never had it before I went to that other place...
I got lots of "hits", when I first googled about the beings I met, the look of them and how the place looked...haha many hits were about DMA (?) I've "experienced so many altered states, and I'm fairly "in the know", but I'd never heard about DMA. Little did I realize...it's about naturally-occurring chemical(s), that apparently are released only at birth and death! But DMA also releases, or mimics that thing, too. SO! As it happens-the place I went to, and the beings that we're there; all of it was very geometric. That's why all the DMA hits...I was straight when it happened, though-for once in my life LmfAO! (*^_^*) thx for reading this,
      Peace outtttttt ♡☆♥★♣☀♡

THEN...see if I can somehow move it to my new thing. Orrrrrrr...I can find the thread and post! Thereby, revivication! Wooooooo
