It's a good excercise, indeed. A strong mind needs room to stretch, it's not healthy for people to keep their awareness all knotted up - it needs to stretch too. |

I do this type of meditation every day - as outlined in Robert Bruce's book Astral Dynamics. I've been training for a long while in manipulating the subtle energy body/chi/qui/etc, and learning about the major chakras. |

I've been practicing the microcosmic orbit for somewhere around a year or two now....it's an excellent tool for meditation and energywork. I've been meaning to start doing it in my lucid dreams and OBEs. |

The tingling sensation is most likely energy moving. That chakra may be at least partially open or active. When there is a blockage, typically there is pain or aching. Everyone feels chi (energy) in different ways. Personally it's like a buzzing sensation for me, and it's warm. |
