What does the astral plane look like?

I haven't had an astral projection experience yet and I am curious what it will look like. I haven't really seen a detailed explanation of it. I know a lot of people on here don't believe it exists and I'm not sure if I do or not yet. I've just decided that I would like to try it, wether it's a dream or another dimension.

For me astral plane looks more or less like physical dimension. Things have often diffuse border, like particles of mater are surrounding things. I don't remember last time I saw animal there, and peoples/other beings are sparse there. Imagination could add things into astral, which I try to avoid.
I differ between astral from the feel... mental state. When I have lucid dream I know that I'm dreaming. When I'm out of body I know that I'm not dreaming. It is different state of mind, focus... It makes you feel more real than in physical dimension. I guess it comes with experience.

Psionik, do u think it is possible to draw these Diffuse borders? So is this matter diffusing away from the solid-state? (Yo.. Have you tried inspecting things closer? I know a few people who report that matter in the astral has a certain property. I'm not going to tell you what that is but it would be interesting to know if you report something similar)

Actually, I am reminded of my very first lucid dream. That one was different from any other I have had.

In this dream the ground had a slight inherent glow around it. Magical stuff. People walked around like zombies with their eyes closed. Out of phase.. Looked like they are sleepwalking. I saw a girl from school and floated with her and she later had a dream of me taking her flying.

(that's a lie.. she just made a poem that implied having this experience with me. It's a flaw on my part that i never had the nerve to ask for further details)

Later in the dream i started walking around and seeing sleep-walking people in elementary school. Which i regularly dream about (imagination kicking in). I guess Astral plane can take on a lot of different forms.

Oh yes indifferent, sleepwalking(with open eyes) peoples doing stupid or incomprehensible things... I have that often in astral. Well often... Not very often, because there aren't many people around where I'm when I'm out of body.
Glow around body- sometimes... When I concentrate I'm glowing there by blue violet light... I do that mainly when I feel need of protection...It functions as passive weapon for me. Or a few times I did it when I couldn't see and everything was in dark. I glowed enough to see around myself.

In my experience, the astral plane is kind of like a mix between the dream plane and physical plane. A lot of stuff is the same, and then there are some weird or odd things mixed in. Another thing is the astral body is more like a ghost's body than a dream body. In other words, you can float, pass through walls, your hands may appear transparent, and you can appear to awake people, but you cannot move objects (usually!), open doors, et cetera.

One can indeed see astral plane as mix of physical and dream...
I understand dream as being in astral but shrouded in imagination so much that one doesn't recognize reality anymore. He recognize it as dream, not reality. It is not possible to exchange lucid dream for reality, and reality for astral travel, at least for me.
Of course, one could polemize about astral dimension as something real... For me it is more real than physical dimension, but that is probably only because of mental state. I'm much more focused than in physical dimension. If focus slips, I'm forced back to my body.
