I read the entire booklet. I find the idea of writing a novel about shared dreaming with you as a main character to be a self-fulfilling prophecy interesting, such as Grant Morrison has done with The Invisibles.

I find the booklet to be somewhat confusing, because you use terms without defining them, such as inner world and outer world. Another thing that confuses me, is you seem to make assumptions about the nature of shared dreaming without sharing those assumptions with the reader, such as shared dreaming is the result of people creating similar places in their inner worlds.

In my experience, I perceive an Inner World, as a sentient entity's mind, or private psychic world or property, and the Outer World, is the entire Dreamworld. I look at each Inner World as a bubble floating inside an impossibly huge sphere which is the Outer Dreamworld.

You talk about a group of people doing an experiment. Who are these people? Is this part of your story?

I'd like to see some personal anecdotes, some dream journal entries, and some specific techniques you use to achieve your different goals.

I find the analogy of the butterfly to be interesting, yet somewhat convoluted.

To me, basic goal-oriented dreaming is:

      1) Dream Incubation

      2) Dream Recall/Dream Journalling

      3) Practicing Dream Control

      4) Practicing Lucidity

I'd like to see you write more specifically overall, because the whole booklet has a kind of vague, general tone to it.

Thanks wakingnomad, I totally agree, to be honest it was thrown together last minute as a valentines gift for my girlfriend whom I discovered the techniques with. The three parts that aren't misdirection are INTRODUCTION METHODS, and ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS. as far as anecdotal evidence, I have a lot I can bring up, but we will be properly testings these techniques intentionally (we stumbled on them by accident last summer) this summer. The whole process will be put into a proper journal with a full analysis of the results. That's why I released it on valentines day, a gift for soon upcoming break from school when we will be able to practice again without distraction.

Sorry for not making myself clear, I put it here as an early access for dv citizens, this really isn't it's final form, just a rough outline for us to follow when the time comes. I'll take your tips in regards to vagueness into consideration, try and focus the terms to apply to exactly I mean them too, and include an appendix to further clarify. Thanks for the help.

oh and just to clarify, I'm not saying all shared dreaming is a result of creating similar places. By communicating something to mutual coherence so that both are thinking of the same (or very near to it) thing, there is a link comparable to a radio, where the communicated idea acts as a carrier wave, and the individuals thought's act's like signals. I'm not saying it's the only way, but it's what we (me and her) have had the most success with so far.

That's cool that you have had that success with shared dreaming. How about you two start dream journals on DV? I would be very interested to read that.

I spent a whole year experimenting with a dream partner and documented our experiences in a book and in a presentation for the International Association for the Study of Dreams Psiber conference in Sept 2013. I am still exploring the reality of dream sharing and my partners and I intend to begin a thread here on DV to have a place to collect our experiences. Meanwhile, here is a summary of my experiences with a link to the book. If anyone here would like to read it but doesn't want to spend $2.99, I will be happy to provide a free pdf.

I havnt read the PDF yet or marias yet But It kind of sounds like from what wakingnomad was saying and what finnegan was saying You are talking about a techique known as meshing? You and said other dreamer / dreamers watch or do something of the same event. Such as going Skiing together during the day and later befroe bed talk about that ski try and what you did how you felt and everything. Or say you watch a TV show together example Lost. You watch it and talk about it later before yo ugo to bed to keep the images fresh in your mind. You will both then go to sleep and begin your sleep cycle. when you begin to dream you will both "mesh" the thoughts you had earlier and find yourselves on similar planes. You both could be on a mountian or both be on the island but it could be different for both person.

I dont know how well that technique works but that is suppose to be the easiest way ive read about for trying to SD/MD which ever you prefer to call it. I would have to say though that I personaly feel like I like Wakings way of finding places to meet people. You both will fall asleep and do what ever you want. But you need to become lucid and think about the place you wanted to meet. FOr example you wanted to meet at the Eifle tower or Pluto. You would try and teleport/fly or go through a wormhole to get to the other location to meet the other dreamer. You should more easily be able to distingush the dreams you had and the shared dreams you had as both dreamers should of been someplace different and both came to the same location. While in the Meshing technique your both just "there" in a jungle or on a mountian and is harder to prove that you actually shared a dream or had a mutual dream.
Open your mind and fly like a falcon over the seas and into your dreams.
