Most of times when I become lucid in my dreams, I have an OBE without thinking about it. I become lucid and then I start lifting up from my self and it felt painful. I understand in dreams that everything is what your subconscious creates and when you're lucid you also effect the environment and anything that happens in the dream. Am I causing this to myself without realizing it or am I actually attempting OBE while being in the dream? |

No problem, I'll do my best to be accurate. Here's 1 event of it, this dream happen on 3/31/12. I was in a classroom ( Look very light blue ) and I was working on some papers. I decided to get up , I went over to the computer desk and ask this girl if she was finish using it, she said yes so I decided to go back to my seat. A boy name Michael was across from me and said what time was it? I told him you don't have much time to finish. ( I decided to look at michael face for 3 seconds and realize what is michael doing here and why was I in a classroom ) Then I began to become lucid, it felt like my consciousness lift up from my dream character body, when this happen I felt like I was in 2 places at once, I could still feel my dream character body but I above him however my lower body was still attach to the dream character making me stuck. In this process it felt painful as if I was ripping apart of my skin really fast. I said this is a dream, I am in a dream. ( I ran out of room Ill continue in next reply ) |

So you are having the OBE inside the dream, right? And it only happens when you become lucid? How often does this happen? Is it always painful? |

When I turn my head I saw so many people sleeping in the classroom and they had a cord on them. This was a very vivid dream and I felt a lot of clarity however my head was hurting a lot in the dream as if someone was running electrcity over my head. That's when somthing from the ground started to suck me under the ground. I was calling out as I didn't want to lose lucidity that's when I suck completely under the ground. I woke up ( I was unaware that it was still a dream ) It was dark, I look for my dream journal to write everything down but couldn't. I ran upstairs and that's when I really did wake up. When I woke up my head felt the same way it did in the dream as if someone was running a eletric wire in to it. This feeling lasted for about 10 seconds and then faded. |

That's what I am wondering, it felt like an OBE though inside the dream. Yes this process only happens when I realize I am dreaming in a dream. Out of most times I have became lucid it has happen about 6 times from it. No it's not always painful. |

That's very interesting. I haven't read many accounts of an OBE within a dream, though it does happen occasionally by accident or by will. I personally astral projected in a lucid dream to spy on my enemy within the dream. I felt like my dream body was my physical body and I had no awareness of my physical body or even this world, because I was so caught up in the dream. |

Great thoughts on the subject , Interesting way to put it you maybe right . Are you in control of this process of having OBE in your dreams? If so, what are ways to induce them as I have had much more luck having OBE in my dreams than trying to have them in the physical plane. |

I have had 2 instances of oobe in a dream recently. I was in a bed in a hallway in one of them and got the vibrations. Following this I tried the rope technique and I recall being flung/helicoptered down the hallway. The sensations were so overwhelming that I would gain consciousness in my real bed then fade off back into thw boomeranging sensation over and over again. It was more powerful feeling than being on a rollercoaster. The next one was I was in a room or dorm with like 3 other beds. I got the exit sensations and did the rope technique. I got out of body and floated down the room towards the door. Next I floated right through it. It almost felt like a lucid but either way, what the hell was I getting the vibrations for and doing oobe techniques for? Maybe because I study and read about oobe so much? (Shrugs) I have had 2 REAL oobe for the record. Not in a dreamy lucid like state. Anyways, enough rambling from me. Peace out... |
