Thread: How to share dream?

I have only had 1 or 2 experiences that i have tried/ tested and had some interesting results. With out telling the person I fell asleep that night in a very zen feeling right on the edge of being awake and asleep. I began to yell as loud as i could inside my head . I was yelling the person name over and over. Then i fell into a dream and lost awareness. The next morning when i woke up i got a message in a group chat from the person in our dreaming chat and they asked Did any of you try calling my name last night? Because I heard somebody calling me but i kind of ignored it and kept flying on my dragon.

The next expeirnce i had the said person tried to call out to me and in my dream i recall a strange voice coming from nowhere and i tried to answer it but was in the dream not lucid and just went about my business.

Both expericnes we both confirmed by asking the next day but we never told each other that we were going to try and do it or when.

So thought i would give this another try last night and once again had a pretty interesting result. I tried before going to bed inbetwen the state of being slightly awake and almost sleep i began to say. I wish ____ would be in my dream , I wish ____ would come into my dream. I repeated it over and over keeping focus not letting my mind wonder until eventually i did fall asleep again and lost awarness I had some weird dreams but none with the person i was hoping to have brought into my dream. I Did however get with the person and he said he had a weird dream last night he was trying to talk to Dc's but for some reason something invisible kept poking at him and trying to get his attention.

If that was my subconsious trying to pull him in or inviting him in we dont know but we have been 3 for 3 with somethign strange happening in our dreams when one of us tries to make a connection

Go for it let me know how it goes for you! I havnt had a shared dream that i know of yet but there is one night that me and this said other person both have identical dreams with very similar events happening.

My side of the story

I woke up in a house i became lucid . Got blacked out woke up again became lucid. again blacked out third time became lucid i waited for the sun to come up. it finnaly did i went out side and got into a car/jeep with another person. I drove and took off hitting a jump I lost lucidity at this point but still recalled the dream. I landed the car into a cave and lost control of it it flipped and began to spin out After struggling i got control of it and began to drive around more I stopped and got out of the car and began to talk to somebody else i looked back and the person in the car is gone and its now a motor cycle.

His side of the story

He was in a car with me I was driving and he was in the passanger seat. We hit a bump and he thought oh crap we are going to flip sure enoug hthe car clips and we began to roll and spin out of control. He thinks to himself the he is stuck that he cant mvoe his body The car comes to a hault and I get out of the drivers seat and he is stuck in the car. He then looses the dream as it goes to black.

We didnt try to share a dream this night that i know of but It was super crazy the same night we both had this dream.

Ok and wow. Its funny how events like that can happen randomly but still awesome to know it can happen.: )

I keep forgetting to try it...But I'll tell you what happened when I am not so distracted in my lucids ^^'

I havnt tried to contact anybody while lucid yet besides one time but that was because i saw a dc that reminded me of them. I tried to pull them into lucidity with me but it didnt work.

All my attempts have been in the almost asleep stage the stage right before a HH kicks in.

Oh. OK. I'll try it that way than but lately its been kind of difficult because the people I want to try it with are awake at the time I want to sleep. ^^' They like to stay up late.

YOu should try it anyways If what people say is true Dreaming has no sense of time and if you set your intention / request when ever they fall asleep they should recieve it. But I am not sure Every time i have tried it I have not known if the other person was going to be asleep or not I just went for it and believed and hoped it would do something

Those times when I've experienced something that honestly seems like dream sharing, I wasn't asleep at the same time as the other person. I mean think about it - if something like telepathy is real, then that means many of our ideas about reality are pretty far off, so why would chronological simultaneity necessarily be a requirement? Rather than being like a phone call where both parties are in contact at the same time, it could be more like an email where you send it to the server and whenever they're online they receive it.

Actually let me rephrase that. The unconscious mind is always active, whether you're awake or asleep, though in some stages of sleep it's mostly quiescent. When you're awake the conscious is busy shouting so you can't hear the subconscious. Your subconscious does pick up on subtle things even while your conscious is busy shouting, and those subtle things remain subconscious, but in dreams they can become available semi-consciously. So if there is such a thing as telepathy (which is a foregone conclusion if dream sharing is to work at all) then it doesn't matter if both people are asleep at the same time - you can both send and receive at any time, but the one who's conscious wouldn't be able to process the thoughts until they fall asleep and dream, when the thoughts can present themselves.

According to ShadowOfWind all dreams are shared, not just between two people but many. Of course you wouldn't know unless you happen to talk about your dreams with one of them the next day, or record them on a forum where lots of people write their dreams down.

Hi. I'm new here. I was drawn to the community because I've always experienced lucid dreaming, even before I read La Berge's book back in the 80's, and also, specifically, because my family often discussed dreams with each other, and we discovered that we dreamed together often, each of us, generally, able to describe the events and individual actions in the dream (though we discovered that sometimes the dream was experienced on different nights!)
I'm interested in the idea that dreams are a "place", rather than an individual's private construction, outside the dreaming of others. I have experienced shared dreaming with other's outside my family, all spontaneous, but verified when next I saw them. This is outside the lucid dreaming theme. These dreams might have been the common dream, recalled but not lucid. I have yet to have a lucid, shared dream.
In the common dream, sharing might occur, but participants might not remember? Do we all share activity in the dreaming world, and either not remember it or not discuss dreams with them? I don't know, but I'm interested in anyone who has experience with this.

I like to think of the dream plane as Giant bubbles. As Wakingnomad once talked about. Each individual is a bubble people cango in and out of the bubble and go into the bigger open space that is holding all the personal bubbles together and even can get out side of that one that is holding other bubbles like the first. How many bubbles you can get out of I do not know but you can go in and out of them once you get the skill aquired. Another great bit that ive heard and still need to try out is to listen and tune into frequencies. Like you are dialing into a radio station. Call out to somebody or theycall to you and dial in on that frequency and find where they are and go there. I believe we have more shared dreams that people care to admit the only thing is most people do not recall their dreams and when they do they do not write them down so they become messed up and a big pile of nonesense in no order so the events that happened do not make sense to them or anybody else anymore.

This is like my experience! In one dream, I was going for a walk with my niece. She was six at the time we shared this dream, and in my version, we encountered a big warehouse filled with interesting, museum-like things. Over in a far corner was a playground, complete with swings and slides, and she went there to play while I looked at all the fantastic things elsewhere in the warehouse. Two days later I asked her about her dreams, and she told me about the Carnival we encountered in a park. She said I let her go and ride any ride she wanted while I stayed at the picnic table. She was so pleased to be free to play by herself!
I've had four such dreams, where the experience was different, yet alike enough in the basic encounter. I think of a Star Trek scene where Riker and DeAnna Troy beam down to a planet and while they are both together, each experience different environments.
In one of my family's shared dreams, we discovered that one brother dreamed it on a different night. Points to the possibility that time doesn't matter in dreaming, and that people might not need to be asleep at the same time HERE, but that it may always be the same time THERE?

Well, I have had over a hundred shared dreams so far :p I'd say that in real life you should start by identifying the "feel" or presence of the person, every person has a distinct feel to them, when you are dreaming, u just need to think of that feel and then you can share dream with them, one of the best ways to do it is (if you are lucid), make a door appear near you, think of the feel and open the door, you'd open a portal to their dream this way It always works for me ^_^ Also, magic well is another of my favorite tricks, make a magic well appear, and then check ur pockets for a coin, drop it into the well and then you can ask whatever u want to the well XD It would give you any information, object or would do almost anything you ask it. You can also use the well as a portal in which you jump into. There are several other uses to the well too.


For Shared dreaming without lucidity, talk to the person about their sleep timings, discuss what u want to do in the dream, see the "feel" of the person, stick it in your head. Then before going to sleep, think a bit about the person and their feel, and put in the idea that you'd be share dreaming with them tonight, sleep as if you are preparing yourself for a hangout with them. Its kinda unreliable but it works XD

I don't think its that... In one night we don't just see one single dream, we see many many many dreams! These dreams can be heck lotta long. Like 3 years of time in just 20 minutes. (I have had dreams which span for years and years, however when i wake up it doesn't feel they did, that is because we receive too much of information in our heads at a time, so the information densens up. Thus the dream seems like a lot of random incidences, happening at a real fast pace, when we are recalling.) So, I think you guys had the dream on the same night but one of you could not remember it, then few days later the dream retook in the other person's head, thus the illusion you saw. ^_^

I had my most amazing lucid / shared dream when I was chatting with my bestfriend late night, the conversation was really romantic and before that I had told her something which gave her a deeper understanding of me. We both were elated as hell and beaming! We were thinking of each other before sleeping, so when we slept our brains tried to maintain the connection which we had before dreaming, that night I had the best dream ever! I was lucid as hell, I was narrating a romantic poem to her, I made everything around us, except the hill we were sitting on, change at the speed of light, my surroundings represented the subconscious imagery of my poems XD

Awww. That's cute tP97. : ) Must have been a really nice poem. However, I don't get the part about being in a dream for years and years though. Wouldn't that drive you crazy? ^^'

She had asked me to start a blog :p So I recently started it XD It has the poems in real life, I couldn't recall what exactly I had narrated but I knew the "feel" my poem had, so I think it was a super awesome poem of my seventh poem :3 Rivers of love flew around, the love was like magic, taking shape of whatever my mind thought XD

Well naw its kinda normal to have dreams spanning for years and years, people just don't remember the minute details which makes them feel it was a small dream. In some cases it can drive you crazy but well the way you are in a dream and the way you are in reality... its different. In reality you are not so much in present, you are either out of the world or thinking about future or past, while in a dream you are simply in present, you think what to do right now, thats why the time you have to spend there doesn't matter, you are always in present. It can be sometimes bad if you fall into a loop, like doing the same thing over and over and over, feeling as if you are trapped over there, wanting to just break free! My friend got caught in a bad thing, his dreams got so vivid that he couldn't differentiate them from reality, he couldn't go lucid since he couldn't differentiate and his recall was so good that he remembered everything from his dreams... that was driving him insane... He was able to finally break free from that though, we were experimenting something about dreamverse, that stage to him was like that of a caterpillar in a cocoon, he took flight like a butterfly after that XD

So basically it has both ups and downs to it If you can control the length of the dream then its awesome XD You can learn anything you like, master it in just one night!!! You have got an exam next day, you go lucid and spend an year studying for it XD It can make you a genius in reality XD You can invent stuff if you are a scientist, write full-length novels every day or week, master learning guitar and do everything this world has to offer XD

I just took a look at your poems and their beautiful. My favorite is the Extended Canvas . I love art and the limitless possibilities of what you can create really do make it something enjoyable. One great artist that inspires me is Hayao Miyazaki. The scenery he creates for his movies are amazing~ >w<
