OBE without knowing it?

This is one of the weirdest experiences I've had... For a long time I had no idea it could be OBE. I'm still wondering if it was, because I really thought it was only an dream, and if it wasn't, things that happened seem to scary to be true..

I was dreaming. At least I thought I was. I was still living with my parents and I had a younger brother, about 6 year old. I went to our house's entryway and my brother was there. He was looking at the door, it's window, and there was a man, outside. When this man noticed me, he had a horrified look on his face and then he run away. I remember seeing a red dot somewhere in the dark outside. (I have no idea what it was)

Next thing was that I woke up. I heard crying. I was my brother. My parents woke up and run alarmed to the entryway with me. My brother was standing there, crying. He said there was a man outside........................

This really, really creeps me out. Just who was the man outside??? Why was my brother in the entryway???
The funny thing is.. If I was out-of-body, the man outside got scared of me, when I was walking as a ghost ;D I wonder what I looked like? Did I just save my younger brother without knowing it?

The red dot... it brings another dream in my mind, one that really creeps me out too.. In the dream, I was for some reason laying in the bush that was in front of our house. I remember seeing the same red dot, in the same area it was in my OBE. I felt like I couldn't move or stand up from the bush. I saw a small group of entities walking towards me. They had a brownish skin, no hair, big head and big eyes.

I wonder if my and my father's UFO-sight has something to do with this. We both once saw a big, green, glowing ball flying in the sky when it was around 3:00am. (We liked to watch stars as we were into astronomy). I haven't figured out any explanation for it.

Now I'm asking you, please don't harrass... I've been harrassed a lot when I've written this somewhere... "You can't seem to tell the difference between dream and reality" True in this case, but it really makes me still wonder. I've tried to think it in different ways. I like to keep my feet on the ground when trying to figure out the explanation.
But I am open to craziest theories - because, you'll never know, right? I'd like to hear anyone's thoughts on this.

It sounds like an OBE or psychic vision to me. IMO it doesn't seem like inability to differentiate dream from reality because in this case they're basically the same. I've read several stories where people claim they had an alien encounter and then starting having OBE and psychic phenomenon happen to them. One of them is Robert Bruce, author of Astral Dynamics and basically a modern authority on that stuff. I think you can email him via his website or contact him on his forum (a very open minded forum that wouldn't harass you about this).
But not everything in this life has answers. There's so much we don't know that even if you were certain it was supernatural extraterrestrial experience there would be no way to prove it and people would still not believe you.
But experience is the only true evidence. So don't rule anything out yet, be open minded, and think critically. What feels true for you? Then feel confident in your own judgement and experience.

It's very hard to think what is true in this case. It still seems like only a dream. It has been several years now and it starts to blur in my mind. I want to try hypnosis to remember it more clearly. But it would be difficult to find someone to do it. (Always wanted to have a hypnosis to recall my past lives too!)

OBE without knowing is possible it happened to me once, but it's strange, if you're about to fall asleep in paralysis and you think you're awake and try to walk to do something you'll OBE. It happened to me and I was chassing my cat touching it's tail, the feeling was very strange and I felt dizzy like, it's like when you try to walk inmediately after waking up, you loose coordination.

i tried to OBE yesterday and I was much more closer to the sleep paralyzation stage. I just can't seem to "let it" happen. I guess it must be a reason why I loose conciousness before anything of that happens. I get nervous, specially the part where I can't controll my breathing, scares me.

I have tried to OBE too. The part when I start to hear crackles and "white noise" and feel like I spin around horrifies me. It feels so strange, idk how to describe the feeling in my body. That's the most far I've got.
Funny I could do it so easily without knowing it that time... But that was because I actually had to save my brother! I don't remember that I was saving him, but maybe something unconscious made me do it.

According to some we all do it every night but don't always remember. The only time I've ever been successful with OBE is when I'm not trying and I'm in between sleep. It's happened 3 times and is distinctly different from a dream. You may have remembered because it was some kind of dangerous situation.

First let me state that I have not read your post as of yet and will get back to you about that on a later date. I was firstly struck by the title of the Thread "OBE without knowing it?". Now let me tell you this. Whether you're conscious or not, Our consciousness, spirit, astral body, essence or what ever you want to call it is said to leave our body whenever we sleep.
