      Thumbs up

lol, so if anyone knows anything about deja vu in dreams, because each dream i recall, or when i'm in it (i most often have low level lucidity in each dream) i get sensations like i've been in that dream before. when i havnt, and i know that its the first time i've consciously remembered the dream. and i have never recalled any reoccuring dreams either... so the fact that i get deja vu A TON in dreams, and NEVER in real life, just confuses me.

like, in the dream, i specifically remember being there before, or specifically remember that place, even though i've not consciously been in that dream before... !?!?!??!?!?

so anyone have anything as to why i might have tons of deja vu when i'm in my dreams, but never when i'm awake?

It tis a glitch in the Matrix! The agents are after you!

Seriously though, thats weird. Dunno what that would be. Maybe you are in a dream which you have experienced before in the past, but couldnt recall it?

      Nope.

Just kidding. I've had this before though, quite a few times.
---o--- my DCs say I'm dreamy.

Thank you sloth for that wonderful contribution.

EDIT: Damn, you posted again before I could. Oh but I saw the original... you lazy poster you.

Actually, when I made that Matrix comment something didnt cross my mind. Thinking about it now; Taken by your name and the DP you used to have, maybe its just an idea from the movie, being a fan of it and all, that you've brought into your Dreamworld.

Are you 100% sure you havent dreamt of those places before?

I often have deja vu of places I've dreamt, but can only fully remember them when I've recorded them previously in my dream journal.

I've been keeping a dream journal on and off for over 15 years now, and I've noticed reocurring, stable places in my dreams that I often return to, sometimes remembering I've dreamy there before without lucidity.

You could try remembering the dreams with deja vu, concentrate on the feeling, then try to recall other dreams you've had in the same area. Then try to remember dreams you've had in the sourrounding area. You'd be amazed how many dreams you can remember by doing this. In fact it's an overwhelming task.

These days whenever I get Deja vu while awake, I never think "Woah! Deja Vu!", I think "Woah! I've dreamt this before" It somehow seems more appropriate.

well the past couple years i've been really bad with keeping up a dream journal... like the last dream i wrote down was one or two years ago... so it is a possibility that i may not be remembering them.

i do notice common themes within my dreams, but not any consistancy within the places i'm in.

and when i recall, i recall a long segments of events, not really "seperate" dreams, just events and actions flowing from one scene to another.

not sure if this helps more, but yeah i'll do the focusing and remembering thing on deja vu dreams. actually when i am really serious about remembering every detail, i focus on feelings, thoughts i've had in the dream.

That's how I remember my dreams as well, but focusing on the lingering feeling they leave on waking. As long as you can keep that feeling, you're good. You may think to your self that you won't be able to remember any, but if you ignore those thoughts and keep trying, the dreams almost always come.

i get a lot of deja vu in dreams. I do not know whether this is because i am somehow "redoing" my dreams or just being nutty , but usually when i'm in a dream and realize that i've been here before then i deliberately change the outcome

I have had deja vu a couple times in dreams as well, like for example I'va had a dream where I was walking around my house (I was consciouss), and had that feeling "hey, I've done this before" and knew that in the dream if I bent over and lifted my feet I would be able to fly. So I did, and I could fly! Cool hey.

Dunno if that was deja vu, or if I had had the same or similar dream before, but I do count that as my first LD and it did seem to me at the time like deja vu.

You will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward,
      For there you have been,
And there you will always long to return

I guess it's because dreams often repeat themselves, so you're right in thinking you've been there before!
