I have ALWAYS thought that the thought of a particular substance always making people see the same thing was always mysterious to me. Like that Max Payne game, where they have Valkyre, and they all mumble the same nonsensical statements. That sturrs up almost deep seeded fears for me.
I heard of a mushroom that ALWAYS makes the person see a particular face.
That's scary.
And not just drugs. Anything that effects your mind in such a specific way is very mysterious to me.

*nods* I've shared hallucinations with friends on DXM before...we call it "closed eye world" and "open eye world"...it's a really bizarre and amazing thing actually

I could try to explain it, but I don't really know how helpful that would be.

I'd like to hear more about this... I think it's what this thread is about, rather than a bunch of people saying "OMG drugs r teh coolest!!!11one" and stuff like that. Shared hallucinations sound pretty interesting. I heard of some kids who were on datura (or something like that), and they thought they were both smoking cigarettes, even though they weren't. They were lighting eachothers and stuff... strange...

That was angel's trumpet, which is a type of datura.

In ancient times, it was said that only the most enlightened shamans could properly handle the effects of angel's trumpet.
Normal datura just gives me a headache though.

This is another of those specific trips I was talking about. Supposedly, a very high percentage of people see "god" when tripping angel's trumpet.

SEE? That's so weird!
---o--- my DCs say I'm dreamy.

Geez. I don't.
What if he says something crazy like.
"You are the chosen one! The one who will deliver the message. The one who shall begin the crusade to change the shape of donuts from this point on!"

Then I'd have to get up.

I've shared similar experiences with people on DXM and mescaline. It is so mysteriously beautiful.

From what i've read, most see the 'elves' and just about everyone sees insect like beings. Which is what led people to believe it is an alternate reality, a real one. I find is extremely strange that just about everyone who uses DMT mostly sees the same sort of alternate reality.

The aliens seen while using DMT present themselves "with information that is not drawn from the personal history of the individual." - Mckenna

My friends and I discovered that on DXM...you can see with your eyes closed. Like, I can close my eyes and see blackness, and I will put my hand up in front of my face and I can see it's outline exactly as it appears, it's all black, just different shades of black. I know that doesn't make sense. I can look around my room and see everything exactly like it is. My friends discovered the same thing. It's like in the movie Daredevil, how he is blind, but can see in the rain. It's alot like that. We think that the DXM heightens your senses so much (and it really does, in other ways as well such as smell, etc.) that you are almost using a form of echo-location or something to be able to see with your eyes closed. It's really amazing. It makes me wonder if that is what blind people see.

But that was just one part of closed eye world. The other part is being whisked away to alternate universes...each time I've done DXM with a friend we've shared closed eye hallucinations. For example, we'd be laying in bed, going through all these rooms and places we've never seen before, amazing stuff, like lucid dreaming but more surreal, and I would say...where are you now? And he would say, I'm in a cathedral, and I'd say, wow, no way! Me too! And then he'd describe it and we'd both continue describing the same exact details. It was really amazing. That only happened a few times. We also discovered that we could narrate what we were seeing and share hallucinations that way as well, and all the details would be the same. Like, we went to super mario world in one. Just amazing.

Also, I've met many, many creatures, aliens, people and things from other worlds...going from room to room or floating through space. It's so hard to describe. It's alot like lucid dreaming, except that you are taken through a journey and you have no control, you are just whisked away from beautiful place to place. It's magnificent. One of the sad things however, is that you will forget alot of the beautiful places you see soon after you experience it. This is a known phenomenon...and the place where you experience these things is called "tussin space"...and it's true that, when you go back to tussin space, only then are you able to remember the places that you have been to before. I've remembered amazing things from previous trips that I had forgotten while I was exploring tussin space. I don't know how that works...but it's real.

Also, Open Eye World...is different...but the shared hallucinations are the same. I experienced it on my own once and then had my friend join in. He experienced the exact same hallucinations with eyes open. For example, I found that I could lay in bed and actually wave my arm around and paint my ceiling...I could draw and smear like it was a canvas, like finger painting. He experienced this exact same thing when I showed him OEW.

Also, CEW and OEW can be spun...I don't know how else to describe it. Think of minority report...the way that tom cruise manipulates the images, that interface...you know? I can wave my arms around and bring certain people or hallucinations towards me, and I can move them aside, and bring others in...if they are scary, I move them away. Sometimes I even lay in bed and use my legs to do this instead of my arms...I know it sounds weird, but it's one of the most awesome and amazing things I think I've ever experienced.

There is so much more here...than just "tripping"...and that's why I do it. Sometimes, the things that happen are so incredibly bizarre that I don't even know if you'd believe me if I told you. It almost feels like...sometimes...I've touched a nerve, or tapped into a vein...and I'm meddling in things that ought not to be meddled with. It's a little frightening when you see the world...behind this world...

Wow, DXM sounds like a pretty amazing substance. I always thought it was similar to pot or alcohol, in that people only used it to get "****ed" I didn't actually know it had 'spiritual?' qualities to it.

DXM? Cough syrup right? I have had a few Robo experiences (2 bottles of maximum strength). I would say they are definitely out there but the hangover effects are hard to deal with.

The only time I have had anything close to what aquanina has discussed was on a night when I had 2 bottles of "New Blue" and about an hour into it, a friend showed up with some mushrooms.

Well, by the end of the night four of us were all out of our minds. We were looking at the clouds and we could all see the same things (Darth Vaders head for example). But the absolute strangest part of the whole thing was the fact that we could hear anything any one of us said from across the room, no matter how loud the background noise (loud party) or how quietly we were whispering. It was amazing. We were sitting there whispering to eachother from across a party.

It was crazy. Although, unless I knew of a better/safer way get DXM, I will never drink Robotussin again.

I would never do cough syrup, it sucks...and most dxm containing products are unsafe because of the other ingredients in them.

And yes, the only reason I do it is for the spiritual aspects.

I to use drugs (mainly) for spiritual reasons. Just just weekend I tried out Nutmeg for the first time in a couple years. My last experiance with it was very unclear, and I barely remember any of it. I'm sure this was due to the quality I used (pre-ground from safeway). This time I went to my local natural foods store and picked up 14 whole nutmegs. I ground them up and took six first, and a couple hours later decided to take the rest. The shit is horrible tasting, and it lasts up to 72 hours. The high was very unique. It seemed to give me a feeling of being in a lucid dream. Everything appeared surreal, as things seem during dreams.

After the intense effects wore off I checked out an experiance on Erowid. Somebody had written a personal FAQ on the herb, and what they said seemed to relate to my experiance. They claim that to obtain nutmegs full potential you must be with another friend whose also on nutmeg. If you do this, they say from personal experiance that common effects are shared auditory hullucinations, and they described several shared dreams they had together. I'm thinking about doing it again this weekend, but with a friend to see if I notice any strange effects.
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."
- Albert Einstein
"We're so engaged in doing things to achieve purposes of outer value that we forget the inner value, the rapture that is associated with being alive, is what it is all about."
-Joseph Campbell
"He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilisation should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable love-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder."

A few weeks ago, I took 25 mgs of Ambien (not very much), and it was the most lucid dream like experience I've ever had. I can't remember much of it, but it started while I was looking at my screen, and it felt like I was being sucked in. I went to use the bathroom, and it was like every sound was saying something to me. I was listening to the water come out of the sink, and out of the corner of my eye, my mirror reflection tried to pull me in. It was very very dreamy. I woke up the next morning feeling more refreshed than I ever have.

Yeah Ambien does some crazy stuff to me too...but usually I can't remember...it's like walking around in a haze. It's very strange. It's a hypnotic. I actually think it's pretty dangerous to do unless you are just going to sleep otherwise it's sort of like sleep walking.

My mom has a prescription for it...and one time my sister and I were watching TV in the living room and my mom comes out and says something random, she was holding a pillow, and then goes back to her room and goes to bed. It was sorta weird at the time but my sister and I didn't think anything of it. The next day my mom had NO recollection at all of coming out and saying anything to us. It really freaked her out cause my mom typically doesn't take any prescription meds, she just happened to that night b/c she had to get up early for work the next morning. I don't think she'll be doing it again.

I've had IM conversations with people after taking an Ambien that I don't remember until I go through my chat transcripts the next day. So yeah...I think it's just dangerous.

Yeah, I guess it could be dangerous, but not that dangerous. I know the feeling, you think just because you can't remember what happened, you could have done anything. But just because you can't remember what you did dosn't mean you were completely insane. I can remember most of the stuff I did that night, and I didn't do anything stupid. I think the scary part is not being able to remember what you did... I know that freaked me out.

I know sleepwalking is dangerous, but when you're sleepwalking, your eyes are closed, and you are unconscious. With ambien, you are pretty conscious, at least enough to make relatively rational decisions.

i find that on a high dose acid trip..it is VERY similar to a lucid dream, it is the ultimate state of pure awareness and bliss.
a nice opiate nod is cool too, slipping in and out of dreams very easily
The trick is, you got to realise that you're dreaming in the first place.
You got to be able to recognize it.
You got to be able to ask yourself, " Hey, man, is this a dream?"

I extracted codeine from some prescribed T3s today, probably 300mg. I'm going to see how it affects my dreams.

Starry starry night, paint your pallet blue and gray,
Look out on a summers day,
with eyes that know the darkness of my soul.
