Thread: Dream Sigils

So is this supposed to influence your subconscious or something...?
It's pretty much like subliminal messaging...
I don't quite get how my brain would associate that sigil to lucid dreaming, though...

that person doing the video knows chaos magick, or something related to that.

thats sounds interesting, i wonder if performing the sigil in the dream would have a greater effect, and if you percieve more of the sigil process in the lucid state.

but anyway, doing a lucid sigil should work if you do everything right about the sigil. and if you believe in it and all.

I didn't watch the video, but I've seen sigil making before somewhere. I don't think its chaos magick particularly, although I do seem to remember reading about it in some magicky book.

It's quite cool, when getting my 2nd tattoo I wanted to get either a sigil or rune of some kind that I had made with some meaning. So I made my own sigil with letters and it looked pretty cool, so I got it tattooed on my chest. It's awesome everyone asks me about it

Anyway I'm gonna try the sigil thing for my dream recall, coz it sucks lately.

Doesn't knowing that you're using a subliminal technique on yourself kind of cut its effect?! Just like being aware of subliminal messages in ads protects you from their influence!

I'm working under the assumption that I don't know everything, and that there may principle at work that I don't understand.

Besides, I just did it for fun. I thought i could encourage some people to be creative, but there is no making these horses drink.

Maybe it's not entirely subliminal, but more a subconscious sort of thing. Like you can't see the meaning in the sigil as such you just think it looks cool (kinda like my tattoo, except I can see the meaning lol) but subconsciously your brain sees the meaning behind it....

I dunno. I still think sigils are cool.

well sigils may not be exclusive to chaos magick, however chaos magick does have many techniques on how to do sigils. i suggest all interested in sigils for lucid dreaming to at least browse through some chaos magick stuff. anyway, from the reading i did, i have this simple explanation for sigils:

it seemed that the sigil represented a meaning for the unconscious, and that the unconscious would relay that meaning to the universe/astral plane. once the sigil and its meaning were out in the universe, the meaning and thought of the sigil would manifest itself back in the physical plane. the conditions in the physical plane would change to fit the sigil's purpose, and bam, the sigil carries out what the person wanted.

i've experimented with sigils, and from my experience i say that a lucid dreaming one would work if there is enough desire, and if everything is done right. but, since its still metaphysical in my opinion, you can't always have a specific time and date for sigil stuff, they just happen.

and using the same "subliminal technique" is not entirely bad. it all depends on your intent and what youre doing. for example, if you wanted 20 dollars you'd make a sigil for that. thats not brainwashing because you are making your own sigil.
