Thread: Shadow Beings

Could you perhaps give a description of these "shadow beings" you're talking about?
You just seem to have explained your opinion of them and all such but I don't see a description as to where/when/how you've experienced them or where/when/how they are to be experienced in general. What they're like, as in, what traits they possess. And so on.

they vary from shadow being to shadow being some are stronger then others,
they can often look very misty. like a cloud of darkness, they are incredibly good at hiding them self's
they can be incredibly fast, they have a distinct energy, i just feel them if they are around, i have never experienced them while awake <well not that i know of>
i only experienced them while lucid, here is my first experience
I'm in a dark room with no door or windows, i think great what to do now, i look around and see a mirror i walk through the mirror, normally when i walk through a mirror i normally just appear in a other room on the other side, but this time, i found my self in what can best be described as a wormhole pipe-line wave sort of thing, but i didn't like the feeling, i felt like i was running out of air, so i walked back out the mirror......
when i got back out, my senses were on guard something was near but i couldn't see it, i was turning round an round to try and stop it, but then i was suddenly bear hugged from behind, and i could feel this shadow beings breath near my ear, i would have to say it was male, for i could feel its underarm hair, but its arms were black, like darkness, and it whispered the most nasty things into my ear, they don't bother me anymore though for i know there weakness, and plus if they do decide to mess with me, they are the perfect dream sign for my self. what else would you people like to know? ask and ye shall receive.

and this cant be blamed on sleep paralysis

Well, there are many cases of hypnagogic hallucinations where people see shadowy creatures and items while falling asleep or waking up. Mostly in half-darkness. When the eyes play tricks. And not just the eyes.

I've had shadow being hallucinations plenty of times. Someone standing in a doorway, my cat sitting on my legs in bed while it was in another room (I saw the cat's shadowy image, felt the weight on my legs), bugs in my bed (the most frustrating, heh) and so on.

But since your experience was during a dream...
Well, what makes you certain it wasn't "just a dream"?

that is still blame on sleep paralysis, but i only encounter them while fully lucid, i know when im in sleep paralysis and when im not
and now this gets interesting, shadow beings can kinda resemable the so called sucubis and incubis, i even experienced the sucubis without paralysis, i believe thats when im useing my astral arms to have a feel.
oh wait a min, yah i guess i was in sp when i was able to move, but enjoying it with my astral self
im tending to believe that the sucubis and shadow beings may be the one and the same.

Of late? There have been threads about shadow being on this board as long as it's existed.

I've seen a few standing in my room after I've woken up. Wasn't a false awakening. I just dismissed it as Hypnopompic Imagery. Like Hypnogogic Imagery before you fall asleep, hypnopompic is after you wake up.

I think I know what you're talking about. I've seen several before, in normal dreams only though, no lucid ones. For me, they're usually about my height, and shape and scare the life out of me.

I'm at the opposite end of the strange being spectrum.

In lucid dreams I found that I was being stalked but light beings that weren't always human shaped. They came as orbs or strands of light, odd shapes and even appeared as a sun that followed me.

If you are in the same dream area as a powerful otherworldly being, and it wants to be seen, or you steal a glimpse (in the shadows, moving just outside your focus...) your mind must create a image of what it is experiancing for you to see. At first you do not even really focus in on what it is, much less know how you should see it in your minds eye. I imagine I could sound confusing here.
You get near a real energy based being and it will seem shadowy and hard to make out, or change and blur. It could be a good being, or bad, maybe just a board critter sniffing at you.
You can increase your skill at feeling them rather than seeing. Then your mind has something to go off of. They seem good and strong and light,,, so your minds eyes sees them as --angel--stalion--eagle--whatever. You feel their longing to hurt you and feel there hunger and your minds eye shows you staving dog--spider--pervert--whatever.
MY BIG POINT They all look like shadows or wisps at first. Maybe they are friendly.

That's pretty creepy. I've experienced a similar experience when I went outside during an AP. It seemed to be in the corner of my eye and I got a really freaky vibe from it. So when I came out of the AP, I went outside and sat in my car near the spot where I felt the freaky presence and saw the shadow.

I was indeed able to get a picture of it. I posted it here. Let me know what you think, It was a pretty genuinly freaky experience.

I've had a shadowy man in my dreams since as long as I can remember. I think it's me though, like my subconscious or something.... It's grown like I've grown, we are the same height and we even have the same hair. But he either has a calming nature about him or a malevolent one and sometimes his eyes are black, but sometimes they are white, and all he is is a dark figure of me, like an outline... no distinguished features, sometimes he's a streak of black and sometimes hes foggy, All I know is that he always walks beside me, and if my dreams are like a movie, and im not present in them, he ends up being seen by me anyways. I wonder if this is a shadow man? like a personal one...

I saw a shadow dude

I was lying in bed for about an hour trying to sleep.
I was staying at a friends house it was after a festival.
I was in bed and my mate was on the floor near the wall. I was looking near the door of the room because It was dark and seemed strange. then I noticed from the shadows a shadow was moving towards me along the wall.. it moved slowly in the shape of a tall limbless person. It came closer along the wall near my mate on the floor.. I was so flipping scared .. I sensed something horrible. I kinda let out a scream dived up and turned the light on because It seemed to want to get my mate. I had this vision of it killing my mate. My mate got up.. kinda half asleep then fell back down again.

My mate NEVER dreams which is lame. After this he started making little screaming noises and saying they're getting me .. they're choking me and banging my head. Random stuff like that. lol

Also another friend said he saw something like a shadow person above his bed going around him like a dome was protecting him and not letting it in.

Could be eyes playing tricks.. but it seemed pretty real. I was awake. Thats my story

Apparently accoriding to Don Juan(Indian) Shadow Beings are drawn to our awarness. Such as when you become lucid you send out energy beams from your body, and these shadow beings are drawn to our energy.

There not here to hurt but to give knowledge and power, for those who seek.
The indians used to exchange power from there body to the shadow beings in exchange for more of there energy on different wave lenghts.

Are you sure about that? I don't remember any mention of shadow being in those books. Those were inorganic beings.

i see shadow beings every few months. most from the corner of my eyes, some dead center. They just pass by. I dont feel any malice from them, though. My first encounter with one, however, i was astrally attcked by one who kept coming back over and over. that's the only negative experience with a shadow being, and it was the only time i was asleep or nearly so.
I think theyre non-incarnate individuals. Sometimes the veil between worlds thins for a moment, offering a glimpse. Sometimes they draw energy to manifest within this plane. As with any person, some are good, some are evil. I dont give them much thought, otherwise.

The Indians used to call them shadow being's because thats all they seen of them(there shadow) but Don Juan and the sorcerer's knew them of there energy and could actully see them.
I do believe that inorganic beings slip through the cracks of there world and our's. For them like Don Juan say's we are magnet's drawing there energy in like bait of a fishing rod catching fish.

i think you need to go back and read those books again sarin. sorry, but what you said doesnt sound very accuarte excpet about the inorganics being attracted to our energy. the only other shadow beings were the flyers or mud shadows, another type of inorganic being and believ me they arent here to give power or knowledge to those who seek.

You guys musnt be so closed minded.(Before i new what SP was) A woke up in SP one time. It freaked me out i started hearing noising(Nails on chalkboard). And then i started hearing thumps come closer. Until it was right next to me. As i looked at the cornor of my eye i saw a sillioute of a guy in a cloak He stood up and i felt like was being shaked rapidly(Vibrations) Scared the shit out of me. I struggled i was having a panic attack and got out of SP, and he vanished. I couldnt sleep the whole night. It was worst experience i ever felt at the time. But this was when i started getting into lucid dreaming. And i didnt know What all this stuff was. (SP, HI, HS, etc.)

There are many different Inorganic and organic beings, such as the watery inorganic being and the fire being's, I am not actually saying this is what you saw, just that it is a possibility, like it could be 1 in a million of things from the universe that were actually there.

I've seen them both awake and while APing. The one I saw while Aping followed me back to my bed and tried to keep me from waking up. It actually spoke, and had a whipsery, raspy voice. The ones I saw while awake were wandering around my grandma's house, and they were pretty angry.

These threads are old as hell but no matter. It's been about 15 years since my last encounter with a shadow being and that's just fine by me. It was the most terrifying experience of my life and as far as i'm concerned there is nothing good about them. I was lucid and it appeared beside my bed. The silhouette resembled a friend of mine. Instantly I knew it was not my friend and a split second later it was standing on my bed taking the form of a predator like the movies. It even made the sounds. I tried to get up and kill it with my bare hands but I was paralyzed. I've also had encounters with inorganic beings and would take the hot, shocking, firey feel of those any day. I thought these shadow beings were just another form or inorganics but i'm not so sure anymore. Glad to know others are experiencing similar things...

I've seen them too after staying up for a few days without sleep. The ones I saw were fairly short and most of them didn't move too much, just fading away rather than running or something. None ever attacked me though...

If anything, I think (and sort of hope) what I saw can be explained by an over-active pattern recognition and some of that HI stuff thrown in.

Oh and dream disciple, did it attack you while you were awake? Also, what's an inorganic?
