      The buzzing is now painful

In my experiences, I've had over 100+ moments of sleep paralysis. It would be easy to say that I have more than one per weekend (when I get over 10 hours of sleep, usually on the weekend, waking up into sleep paralysis is inevitable). I know much about it and have learned to keep calm about the whole situation in general. Last month, I was sleeping at about 11 a.m in the morning when I woke up into paralysis. I stayed calm, changed the pace of my breathing, and started to move my fingers and eyes. I've read online that people hear buzzing noises before an OBE, but I had never actually heard that buzzing, not until this day at least. All of the sudden my head feels like someone is taking a jackhammer and crushing my head, causing me to feel an extreme headache. It was though I was feeling an awful headache and buzzing feeling off and on every 5 seconds for about a minute. Then it hurt so badly that I woke up.

The buzzing seems normal and all, but is this phase actually supposed to hurt? If not, I might seriously have a problem on my hands.

      Hey grey,
I don't think you have anything to worry about because I also at times have the buzzing noise and the most extreme shocking ain in my head, like someone's just put 1000 volts through it and yes it's actually quite painful, very painfull at times. Also sometimes when I'm first nodding off ill get the same buzz and it jolts me upright because the shocking pain that I get again is like someone's just wired my head to the socket for a quick second. So please don't worry about it, it's quite normal. Some just get them a Hell of a lot stronger than others, and strong vibrations are a good thing.

The first few times I experienced it, it was painful. I'm not 100% sure if it was the new sensation or the fear causing the pain. However, whatever it was I got used to over time and hopefully the same thing happens to you.

That's weird. I never knew people heard a buzzing sound when they were in SP, because I am deaf during SP. The ability to move returns starting at my feet and works its way up. Right about the same time I can wiggle my fingers and take a eep breath, my hearing comes back with a gush of sound (a whir).

Now that I think on it a little more, next time this happens to me, I'll probably just try to exit my body instead of wait for the pain to overtake me.

I had the same feeling in one of my SP hallucinations. I was looking at my wall and I was seeing a war going on, it was pretty cool minus the pain.. It was sort of like watching a holographic movie. Anyways.. every time I heard a cannon ball shoot, I felt like something was tearing my head apart with a long throbbing pain. After I kept trying to wake up, I was able to move and the pain quickly subsided. I would only say you have a big problem on your hands if the pain did not go away after SP.

Well, the pain stops when I wake up, but it aches for about an hour after similar to a minor headache. I've never had a hallucination from SP so it sort of scares me that if I do ever have one, it'll attack me and cause a worse pain.

That stinks man, see that's never happened to me. The worst I've had is not even related to SP, its when I goto bed in a heated climate and it feels like someone pushed my nose into my face. If anything my headaches usually go away when I sleep.
