      Dream Battle Tutorial

I am posting this in Beyond Dreaming, for this is how to battle real people.

1)First you must learn the basics:

      a) Flying

      b) Breathing underwater, breathing in space

      c) Invulnerability

These basics are mastery over your dream body. You must believe and visualize yourself doing these things during your waking life.

      2)Then, you must battle DC's.

Get used to what it feels like to fight in a dream. You will learn some method of fighting based on whatever you think is badass. it can be literally anything, from guns to superpowers, to kung fu to magic to becoming a cyborg, or flying a mech, you will do, because that is what you want to do. This will make your dreams badass, which will increase recall.

3)Every time you are afraid, fight the enemy. This will keep you lucid, because you just say to yourself, "This is a dream," and fight impossible enemies.

      4) Be open to gifts from other entities. If you don't believe this is possible, you will not receive dream gifts.

      5) Be open to learn powers from other entities.

      6) Find a shared lucid dreaming partner, and fight with them.

      7) Learn from them as you fight.

      8) Be creative. The more creative you are, the more you can distract the enemy.

      9) Pull focus. Do things slowly, before an attack, for example, charging a weapon for an attack will force the attacker to look at the weapon, making it more real to the person looking at it, thus giving it power.

      10) Learn how to ignore. If you don't want to fight a DC, ignore it. When fighting a real person, learn to ignore their charge attacks. Be aware, but do not stare.

      11) Be aware that a real person can more easily induce fear. You must learn to tell yourself not to be afraid, for it is a dream.

      12) Be aware that a real person can induce pain. In my experience the pain is not physical pain, so you must learn to tell yourself the pain is not real, this is a dream.

      13) Be aware of the power of another mind to confuse you. People may do simple things such as ask you nonsense questions, to draw your mental focus into something that doesn't make sense. They may talk in the second person, or the first person as your voice, which is very disorienting.

      14) Do whatever attack you think is coolest. This is always the easiest thing to do, because it's easy to visualize. This also increased the badassery of your dreams, which increases dream recall.

      15) Be open to a secret magic or battling technique from your dream guide. If you don't believe in the possibility of a dream guide, you probably won't learn from it.

      16) Do something new in every dream battle.

      EDIT:
Please only post questions, or experiences with dream battles. This is not debate thread. This is only for people interested in doing this. I want everyone to be able to battle in shared lucid dreams, because I think it's badass. I want to battle you as The Maxx, that is why I wrote this tutorial. I think it would be kickass to have all kinds of adventures with other LD'ers, and that is the only reason I wrote this tutorial.

one of the first things you list is invulnerability...if you can do this, then why even fight? Im meaning this in a sense of an actual competition though, not just making bad ass fights. But I would rather make sweet battles anyways

You must realize you are invulnerable because all is a dream, then you will be without fear. If you forget this, you will react with fear, thus limiting your powers.

Opponents can still bewilder, confuse, frighten, and even cause dream pain. As you remind yourself of your invulnerability, you will increase in power.

Good exercises to do this are things like passing your hand through fire, jumping off of skyscrapers, then landing on the ground and walking away, and breathing underwater.

The Tick is nigh invulnerable, but he still get his ass handed to him. It's like the invulnerability you yourself have when you play a video game, (not your in-game character, I mean you.)

You may emotionally react to the game. You may respond with anger, confusion, or even fear, but you know that you yourself cannot be harmed, so you continue attacking the zombie king or whatever.

Just like when you play an online MMO or FPS, you may anger, confuse, and even frighten your opponents, but you both know there is no way you can cause each other physical harm.

I don't think you quite understand dream combat yet. It's not about fighting. I use dream combat on my baby nephew to make him stop crying in exactly the same way I'd use it in a dream. It's all about attention, yours and your opponent's. It's not about winning or losing through violence, since violence is for the most part irrelevant when it does no real damage.

Like that dream you had when you were fighting me. You turned into a minotaur, so I turned into a sky scraper. That's dream combat!

From what I've read of your dreams, you're only beginning dream combat, and you're not doing so well! (no offense) But neither did I at first. You're falling for too many attention traps. It's not until you learn to avoid those that you really begin dream combat, because those are how you score "hits".

Flying, invulnerability and breathing underwater aren't the basics. They are all the essentially the same thing. Learn the basics of dream control. In fact, thinking you have to learn to breath underwater or in space is the worst thing you could do. Lack of air is only a problem if you think about it. If you don't worry about it, breathing happens naturally. In my opinion, you're distracted by those things in the very same way that you're getting your ass kicked in dream combat. You'll want to prune a lot of stuff of that list once you start to understand better.

      I agree with you 100%!

The dream warrior master told me I was a fool.

I have only been in a handful of dream battles. The only reason I wrote this is because I couldn't find anything like it on here. Please feel free to add any comments, corrections, or even write your own! I'm sure it would be a lot better. If you do, I'll put a link in my first post to yours.

I don't have much of an ego, so don't worry about offending me.

That is hilarious that you use your dream battle skills on your baby nephew.

Everything requires your attention to exist. So when he's crying, it's because he's focused on something that's upsetting him. All I have to do is focus his attention on something else.

His drinking cup makes a good distraction. Initially when you hand it to him he refuses it, but if I dance it around in front of his face long enough like a hypnotist swinging a pendulum, I hook his attention onto the cup, he takes it and calms down.

Without my knowledge of dream combat I would have given up with the cup after he batted it away the first couple of times, thinking he wasn't thirsty. But his being thirsty is irrelevant. My goal is not to make him drink or to stop crying, but to redirect his attention to something else and keep it there.

Mhmm... Okay, that is exactly what you did when you changed into a skyscraper. You grew into an impossibly huge skyscraper, very very slowly.

      I am beginning to understand.

Winning goes for those who have:
      1. Highest level of lucidity.
      2. Self-confidence
      3. Ignore the surrounding
      4. No statements in their head about dead, harm…

On my personal experience there is no way to kill, if you realize that you can’t dye you just after dead wake up in the same spot. If you remove the dead statement form your head, then you can’t even die. All is in our head and if you remove your limits form your head, then you will be free.

On my personal experience was interesting accident. I was saying for myself: -“If I die then my soul rise and I will be invincible”. In that period was few dreams where I was killed and then my soul rise and I was no more affected by anything, there was no fear no pain and no thoughts about vulnerability. I call this “revenge mode” . I used this tactic without being a fully lucid. I used this, when I was a child. Child mind is easier to manipulate, because they almost haven't any serious boundaries. By the way I usually learned new tactic form animation. I was doing so long that I have my favorite tactic that I use even without being lucid.
      1. Telekinesis.
      2. Alternate mind
      3. Invisibility
      4. Walk trough objects
      5. Super strength
      6. Flying(not so free as in lucid dream)
      7. Summon persons, things.

When I’m lucid there are no limits for me and for others. There is no matter how big you are or how scary your gun likes. You need remove fears, and real life statements from your head then you will be godlike(destroy planets and maybe entire galaxy)

Fighting dream's can be used only for personal experience, because if you reach the sky there is no where to go up. We have in dreams a lot of more opportunities in dreams, so don’t waste time for fighting.

The reason we usually wake up when we die is because our concept of what happens when we die is very unclear. Unstable archetypes make for unstable dreams, so we wake.

That revenge mode of yours is a fantastic example of modifying your personal archetypes and creating your own super moves.

You have a very good understanding of dream combat!

Haha. I killed myself in a dream to see what would happen. I went into The Void, then I respawned.

Sorry if my post was confusing. I wanted to say if you FAITH are strong and you are absolutely sure (all 100% percent), then you can do everything, if not then you might be fail. There is only one rule in the dreams - there is no rule, so you have to create your own rules (exception is paranormal dreaming, where you have to be careful with the questions which have only two options “yes” and “no”).
First remove the statement form your head, that’s really hard to do. Then create new rules and fully accept them. I repeat them in my mind the day from day until I believe it at 100%. So there no need to use others people written methods if you think that they are silly, if you can’t believe this you will never make it. This rule is for everything (fighting, dream sharing and so on). The list is endless.

You're confusing faith for just another archetypal structure. Limiting yourself to just faith when you have so many other archetypal tools available that can do the job better is just a waste precious lucid time.

Now confidence as strong emotion could give the kind of control most people ascribe to faith or believing. But again if you don't make the mistake of thinking it's faith, then you have a whole range of emotional tools available to you.

You can have all the faith in the world, but if you're emotionally bland it will have no power.

An example of how faith can betray you to try in your next lucid, walk around believing and having faith that there will not be any zombies in your dreams. Focus your belief on there NOT being zombies, and the odds are very high that it will do the exact opposite. Faith fails, but archetypes remain. It's because you still invoke the zombie archetype which has more meaning than the word "not".

Sadly I heard a woman on Coast to Coast who made this mistake with an intention experiment. She her group to intend to reduce the amount of violence in Sri Lanka. On the night they tried it, there was a record 5 time more violent incidents reported than ever before.

I don’t know how to explain that for you. I just called new concept as a rule, faith, knowing. You can call them as you want. After you fully accept this you can use it intuitive. I use my power without doubt that it can work I can use it without being lucid. You say – “How?” I will answer – “because I have overwritten my own concepts of whole world and myself”. In a dream we are without power because we believe that is some kind of reality, so if you make a concept that you can be invincible in your dreams then you can do it without being lucid. I don’t even know how to explain but I give real world example: What do you do when you feel a lack of air? You began to breathe more intensively, so do you have a doubt then is this really will help? No. The same is with concept you made up for yourself, you don’t even think how this is work, is this really helps. This is so deep inside you so use it like instinct. Looks like some freaky weird ha? But that’s how you can become ruler of your own dreams. As I was mentioned for kids it’s easier to do that because they only began to make their world concept. I have been having lucid dreams almost all my life; I found this technique about 6-7 years old.

If there was something unclear write again, maybe then we can make perfect abstract that be can acceptable for everyone.

All I wrote here for most people can be hard to understand so now I explain everything as simply as possible with examples.
First our biggest enemy is our mind, because it’s hard to change something there. Now I explain how our brain is working in our dream. When we dream we usually accept as a reality even if we say – “this is a dream”, our brain tries to use our real world concepts.

      For example:
Somebody give you a punch in a dream, you then you might be trying to say for yourself – “there is no physical harm in my dream”, and you think that will work? No, you are totally wrong, because brains then search our concept what should happen if you get punched - you get harmed.
This happened, because in real world when you get punched you get harmed, and there wasn’t such experience when someone punched to you and you didn’t harmed, this is so deep inside you so all other theories are simply rejected from your mind. You can try to change this but even if you do this, after you get harmed in real world the newly created concept will crash. So now some people just say that my theory is crap? My theory is good, but the concept you use is wrong. Instead of changing your concept – you can’t be harmed, you have to create new concept that your brains doesn’t have. This I call a workaround.

For example (example using Logic and self experience):
Everybody knows that when they are dreaming they body lays down in their room. Have you ever heard about get harmed your real body when you was dreaming? Have you ever had such experience? All will answer – “No”. So that is it, this is your new concept. As I mentioned new concept can be created by faith, believe, knowing, logic and so on. You use that what it’s easies to do.

Another example how to be invincible (example using Logic and self experience):
Many people don’t believe that dreams have a sense. So there is new concept: - “everything in my dream is fiction, so there should be anything that can make me harm or I can’t beat”. For some people the dream is like a movie, so have you ever been harmed, when you watch the movie? No, so another new concept is ready to take.

Example how to beat worst nightmares and bad persons (example using faith in God):
There are many people in the world who believe in God. So there is new concept: - “God is the highest power, which can help me to beat any demon or any bad person in my dream if I ask him to do that”. Some people have really strong faith, so won’t be hard to accept this concept, because God (he is the light, he is the most powerful and so on) take care of us.

Example how to be invincible (example using faith that after dead man soul rises):
There are many people in the world who believe in God, and they believe that after dead their soul rise from body. We never had such experience now in our brain there is no 100% conception what will happen after dead. So there is new concept: - “God created my soul and nobody can’t defeat me or get harmed; only God decide what to do with me”. Some people have really strong faith, so won’t be hard to accept this concept, because God (he is the light, he is the most powerful and so on) take care of us.

      Finally example about zombies:
In a dream you see the zombies and you got scared. Then you say: - “there are no zombies”, but nothing happen. Then you got panic and don’t know why it doesn’t work. That happed because you used the wrong concept. Because our brain accepts everything you see as a reality, so if you see there are no zombies your brain simply rejects that, because we have a concept - if we see that, it has to be true.
But wait, there are more concepts that you can change. When you see zombies, then your brains is looking of conception what should happen. Our concept: zombies are a treat and they can harm me. So have you ever seen the zombies? How do you know they are good or bad? They bad, because we thought they are bad. This concept isn’t clear so we can change this.
But wait, there are more concepts that you can change. Simply forget thinking about zombies and they are good or bad, they are really here or it’s a hallucination. You ask yourself: - “If I’ am dreaming now, so my body lay down comfortably in my bad. I can’t be harmed because it’s impossible to get harmed during dream, I have never have such experience and never heard about that”. So now you no more worry about the zombies.

So I think is now really clear what is concept and how to use. The most important thing in here to create right conception with your faith, believe, experience, knowing, logic. There is no 100% tutorial how to create right conception because we all so different. And after you read this you will create your own conception . After read you have to interpret, make notes and, rewrite this theory in your own personal conception.
If you see a closer to a person is like a combination of conception, without that I think we will be nothing. Change the conception of yours and you will RULE DREAM AS YOU WANT.

If I could try to clarify your conception of concepts a little...

Instead of concepts, think of them as schemata or archetypes. Same thing really, but the archetype model allows for a better depiction of how to use them.

But other than that you've got the gist of it.

but you have to admit if people will undertand this abstract ,then they will controll fully their dream. Would be great if you write, how do you understand my abstract.

P.S. The problem is the words as I sayd is hard to describe such things.

I agree, that's the only way to fully control your dreams. I'm trying to write a new tutorial about that now, but it's taking a long time. I've been trying to explain this for like a year now in like every post I make. It's taking a long time for people to catch on and I'm getting tired of repeating myself.

One good tutorial should do it though.

Don't I know it! I tried to describe it in this thread http://dreamviews.com/community/showthread.php?t=57283

By the way, have you noticed yet that that kind of control applies to the real world the same way it does to dream?

The Cusp has a good point here. Sure, badass fights are really fun, but if you really want someone to leave (or you really want to win XD), mess with their heads a little. Turn into something they can't damage, like air, the sun, or a really tall skyscraper!

Then, when their attention is on something else, try to encapsulate them somehow (works with DC's, at least). Make it start out rather large, but quickly make it shrink. They'll probably be too confused to think of a way to fight out of it, and if they did, it'd be too late. You could just focus on holding the vessel solid, or imagine it inescapable. Proceed to throw said vessel down a river, trash chute, et cetera.

If you really wanted someone out of your head, I'd use what I call the "Lonely Traveler" technique. This is kinda complex; I morph the landscape into some desolate road, hotel, mansion, (insert creepy scenery here) and set up different horrific traps to scare the crap out of them with. I'm assuming this would work the first few instances only, and mainly on inexperienced dreamers, because they'd adjust to your tricks after time, realize there's nothing that can happen, and just breeze right by. Again, I obviously only have experience with DC's, but I'm guessing these would work on people too.

Of course, I don't think you'd want to expel another dreamer from your head, but if you're doing something you don't want them to know about, or they're repeatedly assaulting or annoying you, you should be able to bore/scare them out in due time.
