Dream memory is so weird...because its subconscious stuff it can be completely buried for yearsssssssssss
hmmm the mother of all nightmares...an angry mum
mmm...that was exactly the type of scene i was trying to incubate xD nice lucid
Yeah... dream incubation is a double-edged sword. It can work really well for accomplishing your goals, but it also works for ANYTHING, even things we don't want to happen. I thought the cat was pretty funny, especially since it wasn't even surprised that it suddenly existed. It was incredibly nonchalant about the whole thing. It wasn't an outcome that I expected, like a dark ball of energy or something. I have a feeling that my dream world is going to be full of cats after a while... good thing I like cats. I didn't try talking to the cat, but maybe I will next time. I bet it will be an interesting conversation.
Cool gratulations! nice to see that a cat came out by your efforts i lately start thinking about the void in lucid and then it appears and i wake up... dont know where this come from. sure i had this some times earlier but lately its starts to get a real mindproblem. lets see maybe i can dissolve it with some positiv thinking i like how you describe your dream. with an eye for the details i think i will read some other dreams of yours. cya
Congrats on the lucid! You're very skilled in your handling of the "grey fog" or what I've mostly called "the void". I'm also a big fan of the approach you took of just walking forward assuming that the dream scene will appear. I find that in those situations where I don't have a dream body, if I just start rubbing my hands together I'll have one almost immediately. Something about just assuming that I have a body seems to be the spark I need to have one generated for me. I'm glad you've been having success with your LDing even if the journaling doesn't always happen. I'm in the process of getting back on the wagon after having a crazy month of May, so I'm right there with you.
It has, and looks very solid, but it's the plain solid white of a 3D model that has been imported into some engines but doesn't have a texture linked to it (or the texture isn't loading). Ha! One of these "unpainted" models wound up in our current (video game) project just earlier today. I don't know where you came up with the idea to treat your LD as a big, feature-packed, much less expensive copy of 3DS Max, but I love it! Having the bed come up only part finished was a cute touch from the ol' subconscious. I hope you do more with this idea! It's great.
It worked surprisingly well. Far better than a lot of other techniques I've tried. When I pulled it up, it was a little more like the HUD for a video game than actual 3DS Max. It was a really good way to indirectly exert a large degree of control. I may try it again next time, and try to think of it as its own "software" rather than, say, 3DS Max or Maya. I'm imagining the menus, hot-keys, etc. being related to various things you would do in a dream, beyond simply creating objects. Scene Change/Generate Environment, Generate Character, Zoom In/Out, Sharpen/Intensify, Stabilize, Delete Object, etc. Maybe thinking of a scene change as a generated environment and then plunking down whatever else I want there may help me get around the scene change related roadblocks I tend to encounter.
Cool dream. The 3D modelling part sounds like it would be fun.
Licking the ground? Strange, but at least it works. Very nice lucid!
Oh God, Princess Maker dreams. I hesitate to admit I know of those. Also, is the thought of the neglected boy watching longingly from outside the window while his sister is showered with the attention he so desperately craves funny to anyone else?
Your dreams are incredibly vivid and a joy to read!!! They remind me a lot of mine, especially about having to find a bathroom.
this is the best non-lucid DJ ive read yet
Not the kitten bombs! Anything but that...
Their heads did not explode, although that would have been another layer of creepy.
So did their heads explode or what? Little unclear on that. Also, ragamuffins should totally be a legitimate creature.
The idea of a snake eating hotdogs made me laugh out loud
Cool, did you want/tried to wake up from it or you enjoyed watching it?
Sorry to hear that your hip's bothering you enough to mess up your sleep! Bummer, too, that work's restricting your sleep. Still, you're doing the smart thing journaling regardless of all that, even if it's just the vague, leftover impressions. I tend to really slack off on nights like that. REM rebound hopefully headed your way!
I guess the interesting thing about my zombie dreams is that they manage to encapsulate the helplessness of a zombie attack, but I always have some way to fight back. I find a weapon and ammo, or I figure something out. I never really die, and the zombies never get to "win". Next time you go lucid in a zombie dream, just pretend it's a First Person Shooter and go to town, or use your superpowers to blast them all into bits. After all, it's not like they can hurt you. That's what I plan on doing. It might take some of the fear out of them.
