    1. Starting Over #1: Beast's Windshield Fail, Flying Ant Suit

      I'm making a serious attempt to LD again, starting with improving my dream recall. But since my recall and lucid count is so poor, I'm going to start slowly instead of pushing myself to remember every single detail of my dreams. Last night I recalled two dreams (along with some others from previous nights), which I'll combine in this single entry.
      Dream 1 - Beast's Windshield Fail

      I was the cockpit of a small plane that was supposed to be the X-Jet, but this "cockpit" was huge. It was very similar to the final place where Captain America and Red Skull fought in the film Captain America: The First Avenger, except with no junk or clutter everywhere. The flooring was tile and there was the same huge contoured windshield, which let a large amount of light into the jet. I was right at the windshield and I knew that there were seats behind me with Moira and Charles sitting in them, but I didn't turn around to see. I was looking outside, there below I could see trees and plains. In front of me, a bit more upwards, I could see wispy clouds whizzing by. On the jet's left-hand side I knew there was an exact same X-Jet with Beast, Banshee and Magneto in it. They were with us trying to fight off some enemy ships, which were quite a ways in front of us. I was strongly aware of their presence in front, even though I couldn't see them.

      All of a sudden, our jet suddenly started moving downwards sharply, but I didn't actually feel a shift in gravity or even fell over - I just saw more of the ground, because we were tilted towards it. We did a few maneuvers and ended up leveling out again without getting that close to the ground, but then, I saw something fly into view from the left and smack into the middle of our jet's windshield. It was Beast. I didn't see his face; I simply saw his body make contact with the glass, making a bit of a crack, and ricochet off. I also heard the "thump" noise that one hears when a bird hits a window. I wasn't concerned, and I simply continued to look out the windshield. I heard the same "thump" again and looked back to the windshield to, somehow, see Beast once again smacking into the glass! This happened two more times and I ended up getting pissed off that "he kept doing that".

      Upon waking, I laughed. It was very comical.



      Dream 2 - Flying Ant Suit

      I was in the front grounds of my school, which basically consists of a parking lot on the right side (coming out from the front of the school) and a much larger grassy area on the left, with a sturdy black metal fence on the two sides where the property is next to the streets. It was daytime; the sky was a light, pale shade of blue. I was in the grassy part of the schoolyard but instead of it being empty like in real life, there was a play structure in the middle of it. I was about ten feet away from the structure, in the shadows it cast from a random light source (I couldn't identify the location of it upon awakening, as there wasn't a sun...).

      In front of me was a stuffed animal made of that shiny, plastic-like beanbag fabric; it was supposed to be an ant. The whole thing was relatively dark grey and it consisted of a large head with two big plastic eyes, and a round, slightly pointed body. It was very cute, and the whole thing was a couple feet taller than me; it was a suit of some sort, which I could get into and fly off in. It was sitting upright but I noticed that there weren't any legs, like I somehow knew there were supposed to be, so I walked up to it and lifted the head up; there was a dark mesh hole (like some mascot costumes have where the face is) underneath. I pushed on it with my hand and, even though I didn't actually see them appear, there were now six plush legs hanging from the ant's body. I tried to find a zipper or opening to get into the suit but I couldn't. I was looking for three or four minutes until the dream ended.

    2. Cliff Dream Control Class

      This dream took place outside in the daytime, with a light blue sky, unlike most of my other dreams which were inside. The location was a slightly-rounded, clay-coloured cliff wall that I guessed was about thirty feet wide, and this cliff was attached to another wall, a bit taller and much longer in length, but consisting of the same saturated clay tone. The surface of the rounded cliff reminded me of flaky chalk or thin layers of stone (I could see some of the layers coming off and beginning to separate from the rest of the cliff). The other one looked like ordinary rock with a slightly chalk-like appearance to it. There was a rounded entrance, well carved-out, into the face of this long cliff, for students to come and go. The area was like a classroom, and I was the teacher; my job was to teach dream control to enrolled students.

      I was hanging from the top of the rounded cliff, suspended against the side by a rope. The rope was held by a very heavy rock at the top of the cliff, and it was was made of that pale yellow straw-like material, and was probably no thicker than an index finger. I wasn't worried about it snapping, though, because my feet had found purchase on a piece of rock that stuck out a few inches from the rest of the cliff. It took some of my weight off the rope. Although I couldn't see them from my viewpoint, I knew my students were on top of this cliff, listening to what I was saying.

      "The first thing about dream control," I said, "is that you have to be 100% certain. If you aren't, the dream won't act in your favour."

      I then started pulling away at the shedding pieces of rock that the cliff was shedding, breaking them away and letting them fall to the ground below me. I noticed the textures and how much the cliff really looked like hardened chalk; it even had a slight amount of dust over it. I casually looked down briefly during this, however, and the pieces of cliff I'd taken off were nowhere in sight. After all, the cliff was so high up that it simply descended into white, blue-tinged clouds not twenty feet below where I was suspended. I was in absolutely no fear of falling or heights, though.

      After a few moments of pulling a few layers of cliff off, from the outside of my peripheral vision I grabbed a stack of fifteen or so papers. I'm honestly not sure where these papers were from, because before when I was scanning the cliff, I didn't see any papers. Regardless, I looked briefly at them and saw that each one was white printer paper with neat, professional typing on it. In the upper-left region of each paper was a line and a messy scrawl of either a date or a mark (I can't remember which) in thicker-than-normal red pen, almost like marker. It didn't show through the other side of the paper though. I looked up to the top of the cliff, still unable to see my students, and held it up so they could take the papers from me.

      I sat there for maybe a minute before starting to panic slightly. Had they left me here?

      Then I saw a hand reach over and miss the papers, pull back, then get ahold of them. I let go and the student took them. I then looked to the right of where I was, at the longer cliff wall consisting of a more rock-like appearance, and pushed off the cliff I was on, floating over to the flat surface sticking out of the wall (where I could stand). I landed a few feet to the left of the rounded entranceway, and saw students who I could not identify starting to walk out. I was leaving, probably because I wasn't the teacher for this class. However, as I walked towards the exit and ended up in front of it, I saw one student coming out whom I recognized; she was from grade 11 at my school.

      For some reason, I believed that she was leaving this class, even though she was entering the area and not leaving it. I said, "wait," and turned around to look out into the sky. In front of me was a new piece of rock; it was super flat on top but again in the same clay tone as the other cliffs! On the edge of it was a sheet of paper; it belonged to that girl. I must have dropped it.

      The distance between the entrance and the piece of floating rock wasn't more than a foot, so I simply walked onto the rock, and walked back. It didn't sink down when I stepped on it. I handed the paper to the girl and she continued walking over to the rounded cliff, but I didn't look back.

    3. Owl School and Gale's House

      Another dream with Gale Boetticher in it... Must have been because I missed the new episode of Breaking Bad on Sunday...

      In this dream, it was sometime between afternoon and evening - the sky was still light, but it was beginning to adopt a pale orange tint. I was in a relatively sparse forest with very tall and skinny trees. They looked like the kind of trees that had been burned and killed by a forest fire; the ends of their branches were flimsy and almost crispy-looking, and the bark of the trees themselves was fairly dark, but not quite bordering on black. The trees had a few leaves here and there but not many. There was probably one tree for every fifteen feet of groundspace.

      I was a young gray owl, and I was one of five or six other owls (of different species) who were in school taking flying lessons from a grumpy old teacher owl. I can't remember details about any specific birds except the teacher; he had slightly scraggly brown feathers, and longer ear 'tufts' on his head. The group was flying in place, in a circle all facing each other, at the side of one tree in the forest, which must have been at an altitude of about 70 feet above the pine-and-wood covered dirt ground. Myself, I was in the hollow of a tree that was right near theirs; the hole was only five feet higher than the group. Because of this, I was looking down on them. When the dream started, my dream-self knew that I was ditching class because the teacher wasn't friendly; he wasn't letting the owls eat until class was over, which I didn't like. So, I wanted to stir things up.

      I saw the group, positioned about ten feet away from me. I looked at them and suddenly saw a perfectly round owl pellet whizz towards the hole and past my head; they were using it to practice catching things with their feet while flying at the same time. The sudden appearance of the pellet didn't surprise me, although I definitely would've jumped in real life. Without taking my gaze away from the class, I grabbed the ball with my foot (although I cant remember if it was an owl's foot) and as soon as I did this, the teacher somehow realized where I was.

      "Puffin, get down here now!" he roared in a grumpy but non-intimidating fashion, but I just laughed to myself and put the pellet down. I then kicked my foot hard into the inside of the hole, which sent three moths, each having a different color - pale orange, mint green, and light blue - flying towards the class. The moths' wings looked normal at first glance, but then upon closer inspection, the wings were upside-down! As usual, I didn't notice this anomaly. I was just thinking about how sending food out to the class, moths, would surely piss the teacher off!

      I looked away from the class as soon as the moths got further away from the tree; I didn't see or hear a reaction at all. A few moments later, I decided to land on the ground.

      I walked up to the edge of the hole and let gravity pull me over the edge; I dropped out of the hole, flapping my grey wings (which were still rather small because I wasn't very old) a few times to slow the fall a bit, and started to coast forward. I landed at least forty feet away from my tree, as a result of the coasting. I had completely forgotten about the class of owls now; it's as if they weren't even there. Sometime during the flight, the forest had seamlessly changed from a sparse one to a slightly denser and lively forest, with pine and sycamore trees that actually looked normal, leaves and all. I'm not sure if I was seeing from an owl's small perspective while in the tree, but I was definitely seeing through it now; the trees were very big compared to me. Anyways, the pieces of wood chips, pine needles and dirt on the ground looked large, which was pretty realistic for my size. I walked a few small steps forward and my feet sunk down into the materials a bit, because the sheet of them covering the forest floor was not one solid thing, but many pieces.

      As soon as I stopped walking, I heard a woman's voice say, "what are you doing? Theres dangerous owls here, like this one!" As the last sentence started, an owl's face suddenly flashed in front of my vision, filling it up for a few instances. It was in the animation style of the owls from the film Legend of the Guardians, but with slightly less less feather detail. The owl was dark grey, with feathers that became lighter around its eyes and beak, and it had intimidating-looking red eyes that gradated to black in the center of each one. When the vision faded, it was almost juxtapositioned by a friendly-looking grey owl, who was probably a bit less than twice my own height. He was standing bot ten feet away from me; the forest around us remained unchanged. I knew that this owl was my friend; I enjoyed doing things with him and trusted him completely. He looked like the owl from the vision with grey feathers that got lighter around his face, but his eyes were normal-looking. There was no connection between him and the other owl I'd just seen; no premonition or a dangerous air to him; it was just strange and random dream behavior.

      He said something friendly to me, although I cannot remember what wit was. We exchanged words a few times in a conversation I don't recall at all, and then I looked to my immediate left.

      I was right next to a rectangular house (probably 50x20 feet) that had white siding, slightly stained in places with tree sap and other yucky things. The whole thing was raised five or six feet by a wooden lattice foundation; this foundation had black mesh behind it so I couldn't see behind it and under the house. The house also had a deck-like ramp made of pine wood going up the front of it, starting on the ground at the left and ending at the right. On the right, where the ramp ended about five feet above the ground (where the bottom of the house met the foundation), was a single white door with a square screen in the upper half. There was a small white-paned window a few inches to the left of the door, and it was divided into four equal sections by a thinner white windowpane; finally, it was screened with black mesh, just like the door. I couldnt see through it. I was in front of the house from where I was standing, the other owl a few feet down and slightly past the house. We both turned towards the house and started to walk up the ramp. During this, my height seamlessly changed to my normal human height of approximately 5.4", and the owl I just spoke with just vanished when I looked away from him and at the house. For the rest of the dream, he was nowhere to be found.

      As I got to the top of the ramp, which was actually much steeper than it appeared to be when I was just looking at the house, I saw Gale Boetticher from the (awesome) television series Breaking Bad standing right outside the door. He was wearing a casual, button-down yellow shirt that had pineapple-colored criss-crossing lines, making a regular pattern of small squares. He was also wearing olive khakis and brown sandals; the outfit as a whole looked very normal.

      Gale then looked at me and said, "excuse the mess." His voice was very similar to the actual character. He then smiled a bit as if to welcome me to his house, and pushed lightly on the white door. It swung open slowly and without making a noise, even though he pushed very lightly on it. I knew I was going to be discussing business plans with him, although what type of business I don't know; the dream gave no hints. The dream ended once the door fully opened, and before I went in.

    4. Tom Felton and the Harry Potter Cast

      In this dream, I was walking down a long, rather narrow room with concrete floors, glass windows and an arcing ceiling. Seen from the side, the room would look like a pentagon with rounded top corners in shape. It reminded me of that connecting passageway from Hogwarts castle that was suspended high above the ground, with old-fashioned pillars and structures. One end of this passageway ended with drywall and two thick, hinged wooden doors that opened away from each other. The other end opened up into a room of some sort, an empty room made of the same old-fashioned type of structure.

      I wasn't myself at the moment, but rather Tom Felton, the actor who played Draco in the Harry Potter films. For once, I distinctly remember what I was wearing - a longer black coat, a black and white striped winter scarf (not a real fluffy one; somewhere in between flat and fluffy), and jeans. I looked pretty handsome, if I do say so myself.

      I was just walking down the passageway, and I stopped a quarter of the way down. In this area, I saw some different actors and actresses from [I]Harry Potter[/I, and some characters - it was quite strange, because they weren't just the people dressing up as their characters - they were the actual characters. I saw Ron Weasley's mom talking to a few unidentifiable characters; as I started to keep walking forward, she turned around, smiled and said hi, then gave me a pat on the shoulder; I nodded curtly and just kept walking. I obviously had Malfoy's mannerisms.

      I saw the two Weasley brothers, Fred and George sitting on the ground up against the wall (right below a window). I knew they were just relaxing and having a good time, because they were laughing and cracking inaudible jokes. I also remember seeing Severus Snape walking around. The last person I saw was Daniel Radcliffe, not in character but simply signing autographs for a crowd of young boys and girls in Hogwarts-esque uniforms.

      At this point I was now myself; I didn't talk to anyone, but instead just leaned up against the wall and put my hands in my pockets. After a minute or so, suddenly one of my friends walked up to me and asked (rather gleefully) if I could "sign" a tattoo on her arm.

      "Really?" I asked, incredulous. "The Harry Potter cast is here, why do you want me to sign?"

      She replied, "you're the best artist!"

      I said, "not now, but maybe later".

      Despite my answer, she took my hand. Then she proceeded to bring my hand towards her upper arm and, somehow, draw something on her upper arm using that hand of mine. At some point during this, I saw that my hand was now holding a fountain pen that belonged to her. The ink on her arm was dark blue, but I don't remember what the exact design/message/etc was.

    5. Lucidity! Moving the Moon, Licking the Floor, Slow Motion

      Five-Star Dreams

      A nice, detailed lucid that has to be one of my longest ones ever! I didn't do anything too epic in this dream except for a cool slow-motion sequence and a whole lot of observations, just to get back into the swing of things (I didn't want to try teleporting in this one, and unfortunately, I totally forgot about having a shared dream with members of the IOSDP).

      I was in a room that was about fifteen by ten feet; it had tan-colored brick walls and dark, faded hardwood flooring. I'm surprised I could find a picture that depicts close to what the room looked like! It looked like the one on the right; I have adjusted the colors and saturation to how it appeared in the dream. It was darkly lit by one yellow lightbulb in the center of the varnished concrete ceiling, hanging from a short but twisted cord. The glow of pale yellow light was steady and unabated but it was still pretty dark. In the middle of one of the shorter walls was a normal, closed wooden door that was painted white. Against the opposite wall, and again right in the middle, there was a double bed. It had a metal frame with one rounded metal piece for a headboard, and reminded me of a crib. On top was a soft, plush white bedspread that was thicker than a duvet. Room in a psych hospital, perhaps?

      I was lying on this bed, on my stomach with my head turned over to the right. There was no pillow; I was just resting on top of the bedspread with my head in the covers. Then, I suddenly felt extremely relaxed and almost felt like I was going to fall right through the bed - sleep paralysis. However, in the dream, I regarded sleep paralysis as a terrifying, mental abnormality that shouldn't happen to anyone. I sensed an unknown figure made of black smoke walk over to my bedside and stick a small, very thin needle into my arm, right where I'd receive a shot at the doctor's.

      I freaked out; my breathing became erratic and fast, which was very realistic for being in a dream. The episode ended shortly after, when the needle was removed from my arm. I burst out from the bed and ran to the door; I recall the hardwood floor being extremely smooth, without any spaces between the boards or indents. I opened the door to a whole other section of building. This wasn't an insane asylum or anything, but a house that was positioned right next to my school! I had emerged from the room with the bed, into a short, wider hallway which opened up into a central area. This was the second floor. There was a set of crappy-looking, broken stairs going up to a single-room third floor, and a set at the end of the room that went down to the first floor. They looked like they disappeared into the wall, though, because there wasn't enough room for the staircase to change directions. Below is the basic layout of the floor, along with a shaded section for the third floor above it.


      The whole place was lit normally. The floor had nice, lighter hardwood and some accent rugs here and there, all rectangular in shape. Although the stairs leading up to the third floor (closed off by a metal door at the top of these stairs) were broken and cracking, and the set going to the first floor were concrete and didn't match the rest of the floor, the place had a warm atmosphere. I felt welcomed. However, I had to tell someone about what I just experienced while lying on the bed.

      There were many people in the open room here; one person was at a round table made of polished wood, like you'd see in a small kitchen. There was also a group of six or seven people clustered around two windows on the far wall. They were large and slightly rectangular (horizontally) in shape, and if you were to look outside, you'd see the parking lot for my school, and the school off to the left. The house and school were connected. Outside, it was dark. Nighttime. The door on the wall adjacent to the two windows led to a relatively large bathroom.

      Among the cluster of people, I saw a rather grizzled man with pale peach skin that had almost a grey tone to it.

      "Hey," I said, slightly desperate and afraid.

      He turned around to face me and walked over to where I was standing. I knew this man was very kind and didn't think for one time that he was weird or off-putting, although in a real life situation, I may have avoided him.

      I started to talk. "I..."

      Midway through my sentence, I suddenly became aware. "Whoa... holy crap. Am I dreaming?" I asked, stupefied and excited. I did a nose-plug reality check to confirm this, and my lucidity went up a bit more. For fun, I looked at the man, using dream control to make him answer the way I wanted him to.

      "Am I really dreaming?" I asked, and he answered, throwing his arms up. "Yes!" he said excitedly.

      "Awesome! ...Awesome!" I exclaimed and almost ran off without stabilizing or doing any thinking. I stopped myself and started to reason out what I'd do in this dream. "Maybe I should try and get to an airport." But then, I thought the better of it and decided to save that for a time when I was a bit more lucid, and maybe when I was in a brighter location. After all, it was nighttime outside, and in the past I've had difficulties teleporting to daytime areas when I was in a dark area.

      "Stabilization. See how long the dream will last if I do lots of stabilization." I thought for a moment. "The bathroom," I then said, chuckling. "There'll be lots of stuff in there!"

      I forgot all about the people, simply skipping past them and feeling how weird gravity felt. It didn't feel like I was being pulled down to the floor quite as much, but I wasn't floating at all; I simply felt a bit less heavy. The door to the bathroom was open, so I just pushed it open more and walked inside. The floor was pretty gross - it was made of colorful yellow tiles, each probably only two or three inches across, with dust in the grout between each of them. There were pale stains along the floor from water, or something. I really didn't want to know. Altogether, the room was a good 10x10 feet, with a long, single white bathtub on the right that had a long, white clear shower curtain to match. The curtain was half-open. The walls of the bathroom were beige and also had very faint stains, which I guessed were from water. In front of me, at the end of the room was a sink. The left wall, adjacent to the one that had the sink in front of it, had the toilet against it. The toilet was the cleanest thing in the bathroom, but I didn't notice an opening to the siphon or plumbing. It just looked like a big, toilet-shaped bowl (ignore the irony there).

      I walked to the sink. Above it was a mirror, which was probably double the width of the sink with a fancy gold rim around it; this rim was a bit rusty and lightly scratched in some patches. I looked into it and saw myself - I looked as normal as I could have; I thought it was maybe just a trick of the dream and when I were to wake up, I'd realize I looked totally off, but upon closer observation, nothing changed. I looked like I did in real life, with the exception of my hair. It was slightly shorter than it should've been. I took my attention away from my face and looked past it to the rest of the room; I saw the door behind me, and the toilet on the... right? What?

      I raised my eyebrow and turned around. The room had gotten smaller; now it was the side of a normal small bathroom. The toilet was now on the right of the sink instead of the left, and the room was half as long and wide as it was before. The door was mere feet away from me; I'm guessing about six or seven.

      "Cool."

      I then expected a shelf to be on the left wall. Turning to the left, I saw a thinner, rectangular white plank of wood coming out from the wall. On it were toiletries; I remember seeing Colgate toothpaste and a toothbrush, along with a men's electric razor. I picked up the toothpaste and it felt like a rock; the white and red tube didn't seem squeezable so I just put it in my right hand and rolled it around for a few moments. I ran my left hand against the wall and felt small bumps, like tiny pieces of grit and stones had been trapped behind the wallpaper. It tickled my hand so I took it off, and then I dropped the toothpaste. I then decided to get (slightly) creative and lick the wall. I did this and it didn't taste like anything. I then knelt down and licked the floor, figuring there was no harm in doing it, no matter how nasty it may have been. The floor didn't taste like anything either. I moved my tongue around and said "bleh". Getting up, laughing as I did, I then smelled the air. I picked up a trace of sandpaper, but that was it.

      After sticking my nose out to smell the air, I rubbed my hands together and looked at them. I counted six fingers on my left hand, but it looked like it only had five, so I counted them again. It was a bit of a mind-bleep. My right hand was very weird; it had five fingers but my thumb was missing the middle segment; it just had the base part and the end where the fingernail was! Yuck! I was able to move it like normal after I stopped looking at it, though, as if it was back to the way it should've been. Finally, I stopped to hear any sounds I could pick up on. I heard very quiet, muffled windchimes, but although the sound was distant, it felt like it was coming from all around me. The sound was quiet enough not to bother me though, and it seemed to stop once I started heading back to the open door of the bathroom. I was now in the main room again, and the lighting had changed - all the lights were off, and the only source of light was from the moon outside, coming in through the windows. It was rather pretty, but...

      "Wow..." I said, a bit frustrated. "There is no way I'm going to change this to daytime." I walked to one of the two windows; more specifically the one on the right, closest to the wooden table, and looked through the glass. It was surprisingly clear. I saw the parking lot, but it was two stories down. I also noticed there were no longer any people around in the room.

      I shrugged and rested my hand on the glass, gradually pushing harder on it until the whole piece of glass just fell down onto the ground. I then stepped up onto the windowpane, first with my right foot and then my left, and pushed off, jumping into the air. I didn't float at all for once, and simply fell back down really quickly like what would happen in real life, then landed on the asphalt with a low-pitched thud that almost sounded like breaking glass. I then looked to the left; in the moonlit darkness I saw the large front entrance to my school, so I began walking towards it.

      Halfway there, I stopped to look up at the sky and I saw the moon, which was in a relatively normal location. Looking up even further, almost so that I didn't see anything on the ground anymore, I saw some tiny stars that were almost faded away completely. There were a few turquoise-colored streaks of clouds, which were also hard to spot. Most of them were near where the moon was. I didn't see a lot of details on the face of the moon itself; it was really just a white circle with some very light gray blots on it. I put my finger in front of the moon and dragged it downwards, towards the earth. I expected the sun to come up in turn, and for the entire sky to get brighter. However, even though the moon moved with my finger, the sun didn't come up and only a patch of sky above the school got brighter. Then again, I'd never been very good at changing the sky.

      "Brighten the sky," I shouted commandingly. Nothing happened.

      "Whatever, be that way," I said in the tone a parent would say to an unruly child, and waved my hand off towards the sky. I walked to the school and when I got there, I opened the furthest left of four wide doors that each consisted of only a metal frame and a big pane of glass. The door wasn't locked, but it would've been in waking life. I walked into the atrium, which was the main area of the school that spanned upwards for three stories, and led to, essentially, all the different classrooms.


      The main section of the school, right when you walk in, consists of a large, long atrium with a triangular glass roof, which allows for much light to enter the school, making it fairly airy and bright. Classrooms are on the left and right of this atrium, and near the entrance there's a large set of stairs on the right, just before the classrooms begin. The main tones in the building include light beige, light eggshell blue tiles, and accents of paler turquoise, such as on the window frames and stair handles.

      The place was actually lit very well; I looked up through the glass roof and saw the dark night sky, but didn't care, so long as I could see inside the building, which was bright. I passively traveled down the atrium and saw many different people walking around, but I didn't recognize anyone in particular. However, since I knew that I couldn't get to an airport and create an amazing chase scenario from here, immediately I decided that I just wanted to raise hell in this dream, by any means necessary. At this point, I'm not even sure if I cared whether I woke up or not. This dream was already longer than the majority of my other lucids, and I knew this.

      I crossed my arms and stood in the middle of the area for a couple moments. I wanted to fight and bring a whole mass of bad guys down on me.

      My gaze then flicked to the side as I imagined (without actually hearing anything) a twig snapping outside the school entrance. I breathed out quickly, acting like I'd been surprised, and then widened my eyes as I heard a group of men entering the atrium behind me, through the glass doors I'd just gone through. I spun around and, without visualization at all, saw that they were wearing dark gray and black S.W.A.T. outfits.

      "Man, I'm sick of these S.W.A.T. teams," I said, out of character for a moment and just complaining about the dream.

      "Oh well," I then said in a lighter tone. Back in character again, I saw a man in the middle hold a gun up to eye level and shuffle a few steps towards me. The gun he was holding looked like it was made entirely of lightweight metal, almost exactly like the one on the left. He was aiming for me and before I could do anything dream control-wise, he shot at me. I jumped up and curved backwards, just in time as the slower-than-normal bullet whizzed right underneath me. My jumping movement was fast, but as I arced backwards it became slow motion, which was an amazing sensation. I wasn't paying attention to the man who shot me anymore, and was simply taking note of how when I tried to move my arms, it would be like moving through a viscous liquid. I didn't try to move my legs, which felt like they were numb and floating. The slow-motion sequence ended in about ten seconds and instead of continuing to curl backwards and end with a backflip, I kicked my legs from in front of me to underneath me, and I landed upright.

      I looked at the men and raised my chin, daring them to shoot again,
      but the dream faded.

    6. Fragment - I Didn't Study!

      Last night was filled with different fragments, and nothing else. Maybe I should stop going to bed at 4:00 AM.

      I was at school, standing in the restroom. The room was about thirty by fifteen feet, with paler, turquoise laminate flooring that had a bunch of little bumps for texture - it's a slightly better-than-average looking room. There was an open doorway, with no door, on one of the longer walls. Next to this doorway was a basic cream, rectangular countertop with sharp edges, going to the end of the wall. The counter had three white sinks. Above it was one long mirror, divided into three even segments that were directly touching each other. On the other long wall, there were five or six cubicles that were smoothly painted this color. They were all closed.

      The lighting wasn't coming from harsh, bright white fluorescent lights. The atmosphere of the room was fairly dim; the lighting was steady but probably only a bit more than half the brightness caused by fluorescent bulbs.

      I was standing in front of the sink on the right, the closest one to the entrance. To my left, in front of the other two sinks were two of my friends; I can't remember who they were exactly, though. The only thing regarding these two people that I distinctly remember is that one of them was wearing a pullover, maroon-colored hoodie. I was in the bathroom with them because we had fifteen minutes before our AP Chemistry test, and I was just totally freaking out because of this.

      Turning towards my friends, I said rather nervously, "I didn't study at all!"

      One of them replied, "well, that's too bad..." and trailed off. Both of them left the restroom and left me there.

    7. Backstage Blood Stain

      I was in my school. The school has a theatre with a big stage and a long backstage area with two doors (one on either side) that leads out to the two wings of the stage. Slightly colorized, hard tan flooring with beige walls and lighter, pale blue accents around the door frames. It was clearly rectangular, and in the dream it was about twenty by fourteen feet.

      I came through the left backstage door. The room was lit by a few lights, but it wasn't as bright as it should've been. I walked a few steps and looked around; one of the teachers from my school was walking towards me. She was shorter than in real life, probably only 5 feet, and had very dark brown hair down to her shoulders. She was wearing a thin black cardigan and a black shirt with a pink, pale orange and pale red floral pattern around the shoulders. She walked right up to me and put her hand on my shoulder.

      "There's something here that you shouldn't see," she told me in an informative tone. She tried to turn me around, using her hand to force me to turn around, and I walked a few paces with her. She then took her hand off my shoulder and just kept walking, opened the door I'd originally came from, and closed it.

      I turned around and looked down the backstage, towards where the door opposite was. There was a big bloody stain on the wall next to that door. It looked like the stain you'd get if something had been sandwiched between two walls and the gunk started to seep/bleed through the two walls. It was darker red, which gradated to a regular red, and then had what I'd like to call "cloud-shaped" linear blobs of orange and red around it. It was just a realistically-shaped blob of color, no splatters or anything (because I assume it came from something in between the walls), but it was definitely blood.

      I remember thinking, "hm, that's weird". Not as in the "I could be dreaming" type of weird, but just the general weird. And I wasn't unsettled either.

      I exited the room and entered a much smaller one, almost like a broom closet. This room was tinted with lighter, pale blue lighting, and was probably only seven by seven feet. There was a C-shaped countertop in one corner of the room, extending down three adjacent walls (one end didn't go along the whole wall and stopped halfway), and cabinets above them. The top of the counter was white laminate, while the cabinets were pale brown wood. There was a square, light-colored laminate wood table with grey trim in the middle of the room. Two of my classmates were sitting on the counter, side by side, and one of my teachers was sitting cross-legged on the table. He was looking at papers in an open binder, which was positioned on one of my friends' laps.

      I looked at the paper on top and "knew" it was chemistry, but they were calculation problems that looked almost like trigonometry.

      "Do you need help?" I asked.

      "No, [teacher's real name] is helping me, but thanks anyways".

      I can't remember what happened after that.

      This week at school, I was using the school computers to make a powerpoint presentation for my Chemistry class. I finished a few of the slides on Monday and saved the file. Then I opened up the file on another computer and finished the rest of the presentation. When I went to present it yesterday for class, instead of giving me the finished version of the file, it gave me the version with only the first few slides. I didn't know how this happened and even now I don't know. This must have been the reason for the following dream.

      A very short dream. I was my room, sitting on a plush, red, cube-shaped chair at my desk. The desk was fairly deep, black-stained wood, with metal handles for the two drawers on the left-hand side. My silver macbook pro was sitting on the center of the desk, and my printer was on the back left corner. Unlike in real life, there were no posters on the beige walls where the desk was positioned. There was no lamp, or photos... It was empty. There was nothing on the floor, either. The lighting in the room was a bit dim and moody.

      I turned to the left, facing the door to my room. I expected the principal of my school to walk in at any moment. However, she was already in the room; she was sitting on a regular fold-out plastic and metal chair.

      "Finally, you're here," I told her, completely ignoring how I'd been waiting for her to arrive despite the fact she was already in my bedroom. "I've been having problems with my files at school. You have to call the I.T. guys to come over here and see what the problem is."

      That's all I remember.

      I was in front of the entrance to my school's athletic center; this entrance consisted of two large double-doors painted a pale turquoise, against drywall that was painted a very light beige. Vending machines were on either side of the doors (not the case in real life). If you were to exit the athletic center and into the hallway (where I was standing), and turn right, you'd get to an open flight of solid stairs.

      The lighting in the school was dimmer than normal. I could see people walking up and down the stairs, and past me too. I didn't recognize any of their faces, which I could've sworn were kind of blurry.

      I did recognize one person, however - I saw my friend walk up to me and say, "what are you doing? Come on!"

      "What do you mean?" I asked. I was very confused. But for some reason, then I suddenly knew what was going on. "Ugh... What time is it?"

      "Eight".

      She must have meant eight at night, because I felt somewhat tired and was thinking about how I just 'wanted to go home for the night'. Not to mention, the lights were dim and that only happens when the school is closing down for the night. I whined, "I don't want to stay and volunteer for the debate."

    10. Back of a Semi and... Forgotten Stuff

      I hate it when I take too long to record dreams. And it just had to be this one.

      This was a rather high-level lucid. I was in the back of a semi truck, which was actually lit pretty well, casting light onto the thinner metal walls. There were large, empty cardboard boxes with unidentifiable red and white labels around the inside walls of the truck, but then proceeded to start sliding around as the vehicle started and stopped. I could feel the gravity and shifts as the truck did this, which was almost every few moments.

      I didn't know where I was.

      In this period of time, I know I became lucid. I also know that I got out of the truck by creating a blast of bluish, electric energy. When I did this, I was able to hear the electrical sound of something shorting out, and a realistic zapping noise. I then walked out and ended up on the field of a university campus. The university building was around forty feet away from me, as an estimate. It was pretty small, with light brick and stone walls, but the area around the building was very big. It consisted mostly of trimmed grass and a running track that went around the perimeter of the campus. I knelt down and smelled the grass (while looking around me at the same time to not lose focus). The grass smelled rather sweet, almost too sweet. I touched it with my hands and it felt damp.

      Next, I believe I looked up and the actor Edward Norton appeared behind me. But the strange thing was, I didn't summon him myself. However, I figured I wouldn't let it go to waste because he looked almost perfect and normal. I kissed him, and he kissed me back.


      This dream consisted of more stuff, but unfortunately I took too long to record it.

    11. Fragment - Croissant

      I was in my school, walking through the back door with one of my friends. I've described the building a lot in previous dreams, but to make a long description short, it's basically a huge long atrium with light walls, and a glass triangular roof which lets in a lot of sunshine during the day. The floor is eggshell blue tile, and there are some light-colored tan brick pillars. At the back of the school there was a double door with huge glass panels so you could see through it. Once you got inside these, there was a mat and then another set of doors side by side.

      We walked through each of these without pressing a special button - there is security on the campus and you have to push a button for them to open the door for you, but this wasn't the case in the dream.

      As for my friend, she's the kind of goofy person who's always seen with food, whether it be mooched off of someone else or bought herself. I happened to be carrying a monetary bill of some sort, which I felt in my hand but never actually saw. It felt thicker than most bills. She stopped and said, "Puffin, can you get me a croissant?"

      "Sure."

      We started to walk down the atrium, past the classrooms with the closed eggshell blue doors, and then I suddenly had a croissant in my hand, surrounded by a folded napkin. It was a seamless change.

      "Here." I gave it to her.

      She replied, "nah, I already have one." There was nothing in her hand, though, nor anything to suggest she had bought one.

    12. The Very Long Dream

      This dream probably spanned twenty minutes, and nothing was fragmented or cut up. More stuff probably happened, but I can't remember the details.

      I was pretty much in the middle of nowhere, on a pretty barren landscape made of rocky terrain. There were a few single-lane asphalt roads going here and there, but no cars. It was clearly daytime, because the sky was light blue and the sun was shining (although it didn't cast a glare or cause me to squint). In the middle of this land, there was a large construction framework for an incomplete building. There were thin sheets of metal between some of the beams to create "walls".

      In horizontal sections of the framework, there were planes of wood drilled into place to act as platforms to walk on. These larger pieces of wood were light in color, but rather thick so they wouldn't snap when someone was to walk on them. The whole structure must have been four or five stories tall, and at least seventy feet high.

      First I was on the top of the structure, sitting with my legs hanging off a steel beam, looking down onto the ground. I had a chocolate coin in my hand that I was multiplying using non-lucid dream control. I'd curl my palm around it, look away into the sky, and then look back at my palm, which I would then uncurl. There were now two coins. I did this a few different times and ended up with five or six. I didn't feel the thickness of the coins in my hand grow each time a new one appeared, which logically should've happened. I looked down at the ground, which was now darker and had a more brownish hue than before, and held my hand out, watching the coins fall as I let them go. They disappeared when they got to the ground, as if the distance between the top of the framework and the earth was more than it should've been, so much that one could no longer see them falling. But I still knew the distance was less than a hundred feet.

      I got up, balancing on the beam without feeling any sort of wobbliness or issues with weight distribution, and kicked off the beam, flying into the air. I only got four or five feet out from the side of the framework, although I used much more force and should have gotten at least twenty feet out. My dreams tend to do that - I exert powerful force on something to push away, but I only get so far away from that thing. I landed within a matter of seconds, not feeling wind or air rushing past me as I fell, and recoiled slightly. Once I recovered and stood fully upright again, I looked around me and saw people walking around. There was now a smooth concrete sidewalk going around the perimeter of the framework, and a rectangular, modern-looking pool just a few feet away from it. There were also big glass windows in between some of the steel beams now. It looked almost like a house, except it didn't really have walls. I saw some people walking around, one holding a huge crab that looked like it was either inflated, or made of rubber. I took a slight interest in this, but ultimately ignored it.

      "Where's the restroom?" I suddenly asked out loud, but not shouting. No particular reason as to why I said that. Someone who was just walking past me said, "to the up", but even though it didn't make any sense, I interpreted it as "to the right". I turned to the left, strangely enough, and saw a metallic door. It was positioned in a large glass window between two vertical beams. I saw a sink and a white cubicle inside (I've rarely seen a normal restroom in my dreams, just public cubicles). I opened the door and walked in; the walls were now solid, made of stony, tan-colored brick. There were no longer glass walls or steel beams, but it looked almost like a gross, decrepit restroom. "Yuck," I exclaimed, looking down at the floor. It was hard, grey carpet that looked pretty gummed-up.

      I turned to the sink, on the left side of the room. It was a basic white sink that came out of the wall, and only had one stainless steel tap instead of two. Without testing it, I knew that it only gave out cold water. "This place sucks!"

      That was when I turned around and opened the door. Outside, I was now in a city. To make things less normal, though, my dream had actually put me on the third or fourth story of a building. I'd just stepped out into a balcony with no railings. I looked down and saw busy streets with multiple lanes and strange, distorted-looking cars that drove in opposite directions in the lanes. The balcony I was on was at least twenty feet long, but only three or four feet wide - barely enough room to be able to walk without feeling like you're going to fall off the edge. I saw my mom walk out the same door, which was now twice as tall as it was before. She was holding a book, Of Mice and Men. The cover, without closer observation, looked like it had a large tree or shrub and a riverbank. I knew it was that novel.

      "I'm hoping you've finished this book!" she told me, a little angry.

      "Duh!" I said, stung.

      "Okay, let me make sure. Finish this quote off for me..."

      And then she read out some random quote, that seemed in the context of the novel. I just can't remember exactly what it was.

      "Are you kidding me?!" I said to her, "I didn't have a lifetime to memorize each quote in the book!"

      "Yes you did," she said.

      "I've had enough of this." I turned around and walked away (heading towards nothing but the end of the balcony), but I heard quick steps behind me, becoming louder and louder. Within an instant, my mom was behind me. She picked me up by the collar of my shirt, throwing me into the traffic. I was no longer on a balcony a few stories higher than the streets, but I was on the ground level. I ended up on the road and saw a big semi coming towards me. I became somewhat lucid just as the dream ended, but I didn't use any powers or anything to stop the massive truck. Instead, I just curled up.

      Then I woke up.

      Despite the ending, I wouldn't count this as a nightmare, because there was no fear, only emotionless thoughts like in a normal dream.

    13. Essay Fail

      I was in English class with ten or eleven other students. The classroom was a fat rectangle shape, with off-white walls and solid light cream flooring that was slightly shiny. At the front of the room, in front of one of the shorter walls, was our teacher. In front of him, our desks were arranged in rows like in a normal classroom, but these desks were longer with a light wooden surface, and they could seat three people each instead of just one. I was sitting in the second or third desk from the front, on the left side of the classroom. The teacher (he was my real English teacher this year) held up a thin stack of essays. Our essays were marked, and he would be handing them back.

      He called out some names, which I can't remember, and handed out two papers before coming to me. He put it upside-down on the desk and looked solemnly at me. My essay was three or four pages long; when I peeled it off the desk and looked at my mark, I was immediately upset. Up on the top right hand corner, my mark read 7/25 in dark red pen. I put my paper down and looked around the room; people were smiling and talking to each other about their marks.

      When I turned around to face the teacher, he had all the essays again, and mine was gone off my desk. He held up the papers again, in front of himself this time with both hands, and mine was on the front with the same mark in the corner. I slunk down into my chair a bit, embarrassed.

    14. Gluing People to their Seats

      This dream went in two different directions.

      The first part of it involved me sitting in a classroom. The walls were white, the desks polished light tan with skinny round metal legs, and the chairs I can't remember the appearance of. The room was a normal classroom size, enough to fit twenty desks in.

      The desks were arranged in a circle, and the chairs were on the outside facing in. There was only me, one of my friends, and a teacher (who also happened to be my English teacher) in the room. He was older, probably fifty years old, and had slightly longer hair. I had put some sort of strong glue on his chair before he sat down, and I was awaiting the time when he'd try to get up! My goal for school that year was to prank every teacher I have classes with.

      My friend was sitting across the room, and we were sending minute signals back and forth to each other regarding the glue.

      The dream changed and this time, I was outside; it was around noon and the sky was clear. I was a guy (which surprised me when I woke up, I've never been one before) and my fiancee wasn't allowed to go out with me because of her strict father. She wasn't necessarily upper class or anything, so I'm still not sure how that reasoned out to the dream. Anyways, she was leaving town with her mother and father. Her appearance was similar to Rachel McAdam's character in the Notebook.

      The area was set in an earlier time period with hilly cobblestone paths and lots of tall grass along the sides. The house looked modern but with flat stones instead of bricks on the sides. The house wasn't propped up on a foundation, and instead was right on the ground.

      There was a black carriage outside; two people would sit in the front, the one on the left would control the horses. There was a space in the back for my girlfriend, and she got in, along with her parents who sat in the front. I had put strong glue on the front seat earlier, right where her father sat down. As the carriage began to drive away, I waved and started laughing because of the irony. She too started laughing and jumped off, running towards me without a suitcase or bag.

      We didn't kiss, (that would have been awkward...), but I heard the carriage driving away into the distance. The last thing I heard was her father exclaim, "I'm stuck to the seat!"

      I was so tired last night after dance and stuff, which probably accounts for the lack of detailed dream recall.

      I was standing in the middle of a square room with white walls. It was pretty empty, but there was something like a television on one wall. I became lucid and tried to ground myself in the dream, but I already felt the lucidity waning. "Stay lucid," I said to myself, but it faded.

      I again realized I was dreaming after a few moments of walking around the room, but again lost it, even when stopping and really stabilizing and trying to think as much as I could.
