I agree. Vivid new images viewed directly before bed has especially stimulated my dreams in the first REM cycle. Not a big revelation, but worth mentioning. On the other hand, I have increasingly noticed things I intend to do, or only touch on, are more likely to produce preview-like dreams. Something worth exploring further.
Very cool dream told with good detail. I was able to follow with good imagery. Obviously if you inculcate, your subject is likely to enter a dream, but I feel that some stimuli experienced just one time can enter your dreams specifically because it was a unique experience. This is not to say that you can't have done something before, but if it is a rareity, then I think it has a chance of entering a dream. Movies are a big one. They are so visual, that they can impact the psyche. Perhaps certain movies impact your psyche more than others, but I also feel the time of day you see the movie is important. Likely other factors in conjunction. Anyway, I enjoyed the whole dream.
I briefly discussed Robocop yesterday. I can definitely see the Robocop vibe in the dream.
As it turns out, a better explanation seems to be at hand: I went from playing Tribes Ascend in April (when the dream was posted) to playing Diablo 3 May 15th. The dream seems to be in anticipation of that. I had a vague "feeling" once or twice I would "stop playing" Tribes Ascend to play D3. This was passing, and not a developed notion or opinion until after this dream got me thinking about it...
Slimy yet satisfying And yeah the mind can be very prone to mood swings when you're dreaming. Some association probably triggered some negative thinking causing you to be flung into a darker more constricting place.

Epic dream. Great detail. Nice realization that the only thing to make food from would be maggots. Great monologue. Good read.
Yes. Thinking about it... This makes a small set of well documented dreams that were predictive of animals and dramatic location change. Precognitive dreams is something I have rationalized away and taken no interest in. At this point, it's a fitting word to describe these dreams.
I'm looking at this dream more closely and noticing an interesting motif. First I was "ascended" into an advanced freeing future, then, suddenly "descended" into a dark constricted underworld.
Interesting new development!
The area where the magic garden was contained a lot with a small grove of large old trees. All of them have been cut down since this dream. In their place several new homes are being built. I had forgotten that downed trees were a key element in this dream.
51-weeks later to the day, I started working at my old job location. Not the one the dream was about, but the red shirt in this dream (and the next two entries) is a shirt from the company I'm working for again now... There is even a restaurant that is a docked ship across the street that I knew about but never dined at.
The car door in the dark was meaningful... I will leave it at that.
Progress has evidently been made within the dream memory pool (World Merging) but very little of it has been transferred into waking memories. Recall (as I repeatedly gripe about on Dream Views) is my biggest challenge. Alarm clocks, GF, work, dogs, extremely deep sleep, easily ruin my dream recall. I'm going to put more focus into recall and waking myself up from lucid dreams going forward.
Yes, humiliation is the more common dream theme.
Awesome dream. Its cool how you were such an important figure,I hate when in my dreams I'm less significant.
