1. The Box Bomber And The Woman With The Nasty Crotch - 05272012 - 1st Dream

by , 05-27-2012 at 06:18 PM
This dream wasn't lucid but the imagery of the half-naked woman will haunt me for some time.

The earliest thing I recall is standing in the conferenceroom at my former job. Along with several others I am setting up food forpeople returning from a meeting where it will be announced that we haveachieved a big win, an announcement that we have been awarded a major projectwith lots of money involved. On this scale such awards happen only every fewmonths at best so this is a big deal.
One of the engineers I work with, J.W., is standing near meand talking about the project. I don’t really pay attention to the specifics, though I am glad for our success as a company. I’ll be attending the meeting, though my work on the project may not come for months.
A gathering of people has been set up on the top floor ofthe parking garage, a makeshift receiving line designed to welcome ourreturning staff with honor and fanfare. The problem is that other offices sharethe parking garage, and their clients happen to wander inadvertently throughthe receiving line. The first couple of people don’t really cause any stir, butthe third person, a large woman in a car with no roof, really causes some commotion.
The woman is older, perhaps somewhere between 55 and75,though it’s hard to determine exactly as she appears quite unhealthy and obese. She is wearing a muumuu and as the car rolls by she sticks her legs in the air, revealing her cottage cheese legs and bulbous calves. What’s really grotesqueis she has on no underwear, and her misshapen crotch is a sight that makesseveral people ill, including me.
I turn to my dad who is standing next to me in the line and ask,“Did you just see what I saw?” He confirms that he did and we both just faceaway, still looking for our expected staff. When some employees do arrive weshout and throw stuff in the air.
I make my way back inside the building and head downstairsvia the elevator. Some of the other staff members have arrived through thisfront door. I pass a group of older men dressed in suits, talking and laughingas they head in. I keep heading for the door.
As I walk out into the sun I encounter a young man in aservice uniform and cap, coming in with a load of boxes. He’s slightly blondwith a charming smile, fit though not heavily muscled. He does not seem out ofplace in any way.
“You sure have a lot of boxes there, “I say. “It’s like you’vegot a bomb or something. I recall that we had received a notice that someonehad given us a bomb threat, someone who had been causing trouble in other partsof the city, and we should be on the lookout for a person with a lot of boxes, but I do not suspect this guy. I’m joking with him when I mention bombs.
He turns slightly and his gaze settles on me. He still hashis bright smile but as he faces me the happy grin disappears, and is replacedby a look of determination. Something about the change in his demeanor alertsme that he is the bomber I’ve been told to keep an eye out for, and my fearlevel shoots up a little.
By this time I’m standing on the opposite side of my SUVfrom him. He has been unloading boxes from it and has one more box to carry inbut it is still inside the vehicle. I am standing by the open driver-side doorholding the keys, and as he reaches for the back passenger-side door to get hisbox I press the button to lock the doors.
THWUNK! All the locks go down at once.
He looks through the vehicle at me, starting to look alittle bit shocked that I’m keeping him from his bomb materials. He has his ownkey fob and presses the button to unlock the doors.
SHOONK! The locks all go up.
I know I can’t let him get in so I press the button againand hold it down so he can’t operate them from his fob. I’ve managed to keephim from getting in but there isn’t anything to stop him from coming around thevehicle and attacking me, and this realization spurns me to action. I jump intothe driver’s seat and start the vehicle, still holding down the lock button onthe key fob. I can’t risk him getting in before I get away, and without hislast box he can’t do any serious damage.
I manage to get the door shut and I start driving as fast asI can though I am going terribly slow and can’t seem to pick up speed. The viewahead is of a street on the U.T. campus and there are speed bumps along theroad. I stop worrying about my speed, not wanting to fly up if I hit a bump toofast, and instead turn my attention towards looking for a police officer. Theyseem to be abundant whenever I don’t want to find any but I can’t locate any ofthem now when I need them.
And then I wake up.

2. Children At Work and A Horrible Boss

So, this dream is rather long and involved, though detailsare going to be hard to come by. I have not included even half of the visualdetail that I can recall from this dream, which remains clear despite not beingrepresentative of places in the real world.

The initial setting appears to be in the house of mychildhood best friend though I believe the dream began long before the firstscene I can recall. I walk from the hallway into the living room and I thoughtI heard someone in the house say there were wasps in the room. Posh, I thought, and headed over to the window. I think I bumped into the hive, a structurehanging in the window like a misshapen bee hive but filled with large wasps.

I possibly attempted to close the window or the bump startedthings, but either way the wasps were mad and began to swarm out of their hive.I immediately turned tail and began yelling and herding everyone to the back ofthe house, towards the back bedrooms. Wasps were not far behind.

I’m not sure how many people were around, somewhere betweenfour and twelve, I think. I got everyone to go into the bedroom to the right, knowing that it had a connecting passage in the loft to the other bedroom if weneeded the space. Everyone was beginning to catch their breath though I wasstill alert, and I noticed one wasp had managed to enter the room with us. Itwas flying around and didn’t seem too interested in stinging anyone, yet itclearly needed to die.

FWAP! Someone swatted it out of the air and onto the floor. Its legs were wiggling around in the air and the wasp curled its head towardsits abdomen, as if it was trying to sit up. Someone said I should stab it andkill it, so I picked up a nearby nail and prepared to plunge it in, a maniacalfeeling of power coursing through me. I brought the nail down and ran it intothe body of the wasp. The nail stuck in, but the wasp was still alive, and Iworried that it was suffering. Perspective altered a little and the wasp seemedbigger, and I seemed smaller, though just for the moment as I pushed the naildeeper into the wasp’s body, piercing its exoskeleton and driving it through tothe carpet bed.

I’m not sure how, or why, but as a group we all left thehouse, possibly exiting through the back side door that led to the rear patio. From here it was time to go to work. I led my daughter into a front office tohang out in while I worked. Other children were in the building also.

Details of my work are somewhat fuzzy, though I can recallbeing tired and put out at the end of an eight-hour shift. I was sweaty also, and I can’t imagine why. This is the moment when I should have been ready to gohome, but instead I was led by someone to an adjacent warehouse-style buildingwhich housed the industrial aspects of the company. I was told I was needed tohelp get work done there.

Inside the building were large machines powered by equallylarge motors, all connected by piping and conduits hanging overhead and paintedblue. The noise from these machines was quite loud, though I was still able tohear voices properly. The room itself was cavernous, impressively large forsuch an operation, and filled wall-to-wall with equipment of various kinds. Thesetup reminded me of jobs I had at a couple of my previous companies, which wasprobably why they wanted my assistance.

All large loads were moved by either forklift or palletjack, and I knew how to operate both. I wanted to show my skills to my unknownsupervisor so I grabbed one of the pallet jacks and stood on the forks, propelling myself down the hall using one foot. As I approached the drop-offfrom the warehouse level to the parking lot below, I made a sharp left turn andbrought the jack to a stop right at the edge, demonstrating that I couldmaneuver it with expert skill. I was smiling but it only lasted a moment.

Off to my right was the parking lot that ran between thewarehouse I was in and the building I had been working in just a little whilebefore. A group consisting mainly of children was being led up to the warehouseto help with the work, though I couldn’t imagine why they would want children. The lot looked dejected and moved slowly. Clearly none of them had any interestin working.

The group was brought inside and led to a number of worktables with chairs all around them. On the tables were components and suppliesfor assemblage, parts to some unknown item that I never examined closely. Ifeel like there were art supplies also, so the children could color, as thoughtheir artistic creations were some form of work.

I skated around the room on the pallet jack a bit andexamined some of the machinery as best as I could. It was an impressive setup, and I have always been somewhat fascinated by machinery and pumping equipment.I was familiar with some of the machinery but not with the actual industrialprocess occurring there. The building interior was a lot cleaner than any ofthe ones I had ever been in.

I headed back towards the front area of the warehouse whereI had entered initially. Some of the men were storing equipment and palletjacks right in front of the loading doors and the exit door also. I knew thiswas going to be a problem for the morning crew which would have to move allthat equipment to begin work unloading supplies from arriving trucks. It was also a fire hazard.

I went looking for the supervisor-in-charge, and found hertowards the back of the building, in a hurry to leave. She was a tall woman, skinny, with curled hair that hung just below the shoulders. Her appearancesuggested she was in her late 40’s, like an uglier Sarah Jessica Parker if thatis possible. Her clothes were clearly not suited for a manufacturing floor, adress suit and white heels which enhanced the sickly paleness of her skin.

“We really shouldn’t store all that equipment and thosepallet jacks in front of the exit and loading doors. It creates more work inthe morning when shipments need to be unloaded, and it makes it harder foreveryone to leave today.” I said this in an urgent yet polite tone.

“I don’t think it’s a problem, “she replied.

“We could take all the jacks and line them up in a row alongone side of the path between rows of equipment,” I continued. “This would makeit easy to grab a jack as it is needed and wouldn’t block any doors.” I was inmy element now, and probably as lucid as I could get.

The woman clearly did not want to entertain my idea and wasin a hurry to leave, so I added, “Having them in front of the exit is a majorfire hazard, and if one of the big bosses were to come in and see that heprobably wouldn’t like it; Even more so if the facility were to get inspected.”

“I don’t care. I want them there.” She was short with thisresponse, and as soon as she said it she fled down the back stairs and on intoanother part of the building, presumably towards her exit. Something was wrong, and I couldn’t believe I had failed to persuade her.

I went back up to the front of the building and found mydaughter. She was asking me how long we needed to stay, and I told her I didn’tknow.

Turning slightly I asked someone how much longer I needed towork, and they said, “Until you’re 40!”

I wasn’t sure if this meant I needed to work to that age, orstay until I reached that age, or if it was merely an odd reference to 40 hoursper week. The man’s laughter didn’t help, and all the children working in theplace still bothered me.

I decided the best course was simply to take my daughter andgo home.

And we left.
