Hey, LadyLoki! Congratulations on the lucid, even if it had a pretty high anxiety level in it.

I'm guessing that the reason you wanted to wake yourself up is that you didn't have much expectation of having a lucid dream so you were probably caught a bit off guard? But now you've been reminded of what you're capable of.

I think it's just the vibe I get from his character. I'm not sure. He's done some pretty wily things in my dreams. Tricky trickster.
That's cool that your sister was able to incubate some of her dreams. What's odd is he's appeared (no pun intended..) invisible in a few of my dreams as well. They weren't incubated though.

That's good. And a good idea, too. If I do look up things in dream dictionaries it's for a bit more insight, but also don't take too much hold on it. More of a light comparison between my feelings and what someone else might have interpretated it as. And yes, I wouldn't want to base my whole physical life around my dream. I think they're like guiding stones, more than anything. Why they have to be cryptic about it is beyond me. Although maybe it's so that we exercise our brain more?

(I can't put more than 4 smiley faces? Noooo!)

One, congratulations on having a Tom/Loki dream! (I try to avoid Loki in my dreams because he scares me, although there's still an attraction to him ).
Thanks! There's nothing to be scared of, IMO. I've dreamt of Loki before (not just Tom as Loki, though it looked like him), and while it wasn't exactly a pleasant dream, it wasn't "bad" either. My sister has successfully incubated a few dreams about him, and he always invisible in the resulting dreams. Go figure.

Honestly, when interpreting dreams, I think we should go first and foremost with our instinct, our feelings about it. But that's just my two cents. If you feel elated that you had the dream, be elated. Take from the dream what will help you in pursuing your career/life, and be thankful that you remembered it.
I agree. I only look things up in the dictionaries to get a second perspective, so as to avoid only seeing what I want to see. My own interpretation was more hopeful, and I'm not gonna throw in the towel just because of a dream.

Three, wouldn't it be so nice if we can get really good at lucid dreaming and ask our dream guide/subconscious what our dreams really mean? Perhaps that would take the mystery out of it all, but still.
That would be indeed so much easier!

Two, don't be disheartened about what your dream might mean. I believe we have them for a purpose and they're there to help us. So even if you feel the dream has negative meaning, it is actually there to point you in the right direction. - Honestly, when interpreting dreams, I think we should go first and foremost with our instinct, our feelings about it. Did you have dreams about the Vampire Diaries characters? Or just the aspect of their eyes?
No, just the eye thing. It's too bad... I wouldn't mind dreaming of Damon.

It is kind of odd. There are people I see almost everyday and I rarely have dreams about them, and then there are people I see very rarely and have dreams pretty often about them.

It's curious how some people/things make it into our dreams so easily, while others don't. I often tend to dream of people who posted on Facebook, LOL.

I don't recall ever dreaming of the Supernatural guys while I was watching it, but I often had Vampire Diaries-inspired dreams, with people's eyes becoming weird, like the vampires before they bite.

Hey! That sounds like some success to me. You were concentrating on having dreams about Orlando Bloom, and you did!

I know when I got into a Supernatural kick, I was having dreams about Sam and Dean all the time.

I hope your success continues, with Loki dreams as well.

Must say, really like your categorization, I think everyone would get a better grasp of their dream tendencies and habits if they had one. And that "awesome factor" ahaha, seems a great idea
Thanks! I'm quite fond of the awesome factor myself. It's a way to motivate myself to think better thoughts and hopefully have better dreams, as the majority of my dreams have always been anything but awesome.

Your "Alaztecamo" dream sounds really cool. I've been trying to travel to the Alamo a lot lately and I hope my version's as cool as yours when I get there!
It's probably because of you that I dreamed of it, LOL. I saw on TV guide that "The Alamo" was on the other night and remembered your DJ entries.

Congratulations!! Don't pay any mind to how you reacted to this first taste of lucidity. You'll work these habits out in due time. The important thing is now you know beyond any doubt what you're capable of. Now it's just down to remembering what you're capable of, planning out how to do it, and going back to explore your dreamworld again and again.

      Awesomely done!

Nothing like a good FA to start the day.

Have you tried using the alarms that shut off automatically? It sounds like your mind knew what you needed to do and started dreaming about it. That mini-dream could be used to get into a full length lucid dream and having an alarm that brings you to the point of awareness without destroying your sleep completely might help.

Unfortunately, this alarm needed to wake me up. That's a good idea for the weekend, though. I might actually give me DreamZ app another shot. It has different sounds that play when you're (supposedly) REMing and then shut off.

False awakening huh? Sounds like you might have started doing SSILD. If so, prepare for a lot more of these!

Here's my little hypocritical piece of advice, which I failed to follow in my own FA this morning: try to form the habit of reality checking when you wake up and before getting out of bed. I've failed to get this habit totally cemented myself, so I'll be working hard on this one as well.
