    False Awakening

    1. A rather epic FA leads to a flash of lucidity

I am clicking around the 'net and almost fall asleep in my chair. I decide that I should hop in bed and take a quick nap. The time is ~9:45pm. I lay down and fall asleep very quickly.

I awaken from a minimalistic dream, standing in darkness. I realize that I had just awakened, but I must still have my eyes closed because I cannot see anything at all. Knowing this, I decide to make an attempt at DEILD. I concentrate on keeping my eyes closed and then I try to remember where I was just a moment ago. I remember that I was laying in my bed, trying to remember what the dream was about. I cannot recall even the smallest detail, other than I was just dreaming.

Suddenly, I make the realization that I am not laying in my bed, but I am standing. Before I can gather myself together and stabilize, I wake up.

I try hard to immediately settle down, but my eyes are wide open and I am too alert and excited to re-enter the dream state, much less return to sleep right away.

I wake up at my friend’s house and grab my laptop from the floor. Quickly, I open Writer and start to log the last couple of dreams. I get the rough entries typed in, then drop the laptop on the floor and go back to sleep.

I wake up and pick up the laptop to check the entries, and there is nothing there. I scratch my head for a moment, then open writer and check for recent files. There are none in the list. There are no auto-save files in the usual spot. I open my differencing disk application and there were no file changes at all this morning. After a “WTF” moment, I open writer and log these dreams.

I am standing in a room with some people when I look at the clock and see that it is 9:00. I remember that there is something I have to do, but I can't really remember what it is. While thinking, I look on the table beside me and see an old wooden cigar box with a metal panel that looks like it is floating just slightly off the surface of the wood.

Thinking that this looks a bit odd, I kneel down and look at it closer. Indeed, the metal plate is hovering just slightly above the box. I look back at the clock and it has no numbers on it and only one hand. I become lucid, then look at the floor and try to stabilize, as I nearly faded out instantly. I look over at the table and I can still see the cigar box, but it's fading fast. I try to lift my arms to rub my hands together and look at them, but I wake up.

      1. I am walking around at the office and hear a strange sound. I walk into our accounting/HR person's office and she has a deer fawn hanging out in there. It comes over to me and tries to climb up and lick my face, just like a dog.

      2. I am working in a small room with two other people. We are setting up a bunch of telephones on a relatively small table. I keep saying that there is not enough room for 8 phones on this little table, but one of the other guys insists that it has to be done this way.

      3. I wake up and realize that I am still logged into DV chat. I look at the screen and see that several more people are online. GavinGill, Erii, and Saltyseadog are rambling on about things and Seroquel is still online. I look at my desk, but there is no keyboard. Then I *really* wake up to the sound of a phone ringing and go to my computer to find that Seroquel is still online, but the other 3 are not. Also, there was no phone ringing.

(Note: I drank a full glass of mixed organic tart cherry, pomegranate, and apple juice about an hour before going to bed. Additionally, during WBTB, I drank another half glass of the same, then repeated the following mantra while falling asleep, “Earth, Air, Fire, Water: I will lucid dream tonight.”)

I awaken on a couch, stark naked, trying to figure out where I'm at. I ask myself, “How much did I drink last night and who ended up taking me home with them?” I rub my eyes for a moment, then look around the room while asking myself, “Where the fuck am I? Why does my head hurt so much? Did someone put something in my drink again? Have I been raped again? God, I hope they at least enjoyed it, because I can't remember anything.” As my eyes start to clear up, the living room triggers a lot of distant memories. This is a place I have been many times before.

I sit up on the couch while looking around the room, trying to put the pieces together. The familiar medium oak wood paneling on the bottom half of the walls and light floral wall paper, separated by a dark chair rail. The large wooden console TV adds a hint of familiarity, as well as the classic 1970's dishrag color scheme sofa. A familiar canary yellow Western Electric rotary-dial phone is hanging on the wall and I've seen these yellow and pink floral curtains before. The circular textured tan and brown ultra-shag carpet only appears in one place in my memory cells. After a brief moment, I fully realize that I am in my grandmother's old house-trailer and quickly become lucid.

I look around the living room and kitchen for my grandmother, but she is nowhere to be found. The couch is not comfortable to sleep on, so I pick up my pillow, blanket, dream journal, flashlight and a couple bottles of water, then wander toward the bedrooms to find the spare bed. The master bedroom has a king size bed with 2 people sleeping in it. Strangely, neither of them is my grandmother. The guest bedroom has no bed at all and is packed full of random junk. I go back into the living room and drop everything on the floor, and then say to myself, “Let's try this again.”

I look at the floor and watch my feet lift off the carpet. I hover slightly off the floor and look toward the bedrooms again. I feel the dream collapsing quickly, so I look back at 'the floor and rub my hands together. My vision is almost completely blacked out, so I slowly close my eyes and yell, “STABILIZE NOW!!!” as loud as I can. I gently open my eyes and see that I am back in the same room and the clarity has improved significantly. Now, I can smell the mold in the air conditioner and the woody smell that the house-trailer always had. My eyes are able to perceive the flickering of the circular fluorescent ceiling light and my ears can detect the soft buzzing from the ballast. The extra plush carpet tickles my feet slightly as I hover just slightly above it.

I glide my way back to the bedrooms again. This time, the master bedroom is absolutely huge with four king size beds in it that they are all empty. I float through, then turn around and go towards the guest bedroom. The guest bedroom is even bigger than the master bedroom and it has a king size water bed next to a couple of windows. On the opposite wall is a huge sectional sofa with a low table and some lamps. I turn back to the bed and decide that this is where I am going back to sleep at. The water temperature is perfect and its covered with a huge, fluffy blanket. There are several pillows stacked up and it looks really comfortable. The headboard has bookshelves on both sides that are full of antique books and various ornamental items.

As I stand there looking at the bed, something sparkles in the window. I walk over to the window and see nothing but darkness outside. Deciding that I must see what's on the other side, I try to open the window, but it's stuck. I look around the room for something to break the window with, but there is nothing solid enough. I hold my hand in front of my face and summon a baseball bat. I put my hand down and see a wooden baseball bat leaning in the corner. I pick up the bat and whack the window, knocking a small piece of glass out. Realizing that the glass is going to put up a fight, I draw the bat back behind me and pummel the ever living shit out of the window. After several strikes, the glass gives way and falls out of the window frame.

I float up and climb out the window. There is a ledge under the windows which connects to a large 3rd floor deck. I hover around for a moment, and then do a nose pinch RC to reassure my lucidity and validate the dream state before I do something stupid, like jumping off a 3rd story ledge. I step to the edge of the ledge, then jump up and fly into the sky. My first thought is that I want to fly as high as I can and see if I can still see the house. I start to fly and the dream starts to fade. I stop and rub my hands together again and stabilize once again.

Suddenly, I remember the tasks of the month: walk on water and control at least two of the elements. I look down and see a swimming pool. I fly down and hit the water, but sink quickly. I jump out of the pool, and then look to my right to see a couple of DCs hanging some very large balloons on a clothes line. I take a couple of steps toward them and they immediately stop and look at me with a frightened look. I raise my arms into the air and command the air to fill one of the balloons. The balloon quickly inflates and floats upward on the clothes line. As this happens, the DCs eyes get wide as they take a couple of steps back and stare at the balloon, gasping in disbelief. I look at them and say, “What's wrong? Wanna see that again?” I inflate a second balloon, but the others will not take any air because they have large holes in them.

I jump up and fly past the balloons, then realize that I need to control another element. I turn around in mid-flight and look at the balloons that wouldn't take air. While in flight, I raise my left arm and clench my fist, then point my fist down toward the Earth. When I raise my arm, there is a hole in the Earth and the displaced dirt is floating just above me. While keeping the displaced piece of Earth up with my left hand, I use telekinesis to push the balloons and the clothes line into the hole, and then I bury them with the dirt that I was keeping elevated with my left hand. At this point, both DCs shriek in terror and run away.

Feeling quite satisfied, I start to fly away, then realize that I should try the pool again. I fly over to the pool and land on the deck by the water's edge. I stare intently at the water for a moment, then take a step onto it. The surface gives way, but I am able to walk about ankle-deep in the water. The water is very squishy and soft, but it supports my weight. As I walk, the water makes a sound similar to that of walking in wet shows. I walk across the pool, then I turn around and raise both arms, commanding the water to solidify. Instantly, the ripples in the water stop moving and the surface takes on a matte finish. I carefully step onto the surface again and it feels sort of like walking on a water bed. The surface feels solid, but it's squishy underneath. I walk across the pool again and step off onto the deck.

Being thoroughly satisfied with the accomplishments, I decide that I should wake up and write it all in my dream journal. I close my eyes and say, “Wake up! NOW!” I awaken into my bed and reach over to grab my dream journal. I flip open the cover and slide the pen out of the coils. I reach up above my pillow to turn on my flashlight and it won't turn on. I think to myself, “Shit, I must have bumped it last night and the batteries are dead.” I open my eyes and see a dark room. I press the switch on the flashlight again and the circle of light appears on the ceiling, but no light is reflected onto my journal, nor the rest of the room. I look at the flashlight and the bulb looks like a black hole which is sucking in all of the light around it. I press the switch again and the bulb lights up brightly, but there is no light in the room.

I give myself a nose pinch RC and it passes. Becoming a bit confused now, I look at my left hand and count 7 fingers and a thumb. I say to myself, “Nice! False awakening strikes again, dumbass!” as I become lucid once again. I quickly jump out of bed and turn around to see myself still laying in the bed. I think to myself, “This is very nice, but I don't have time for an OOBE.” I slap myself in the face a couple of times while yelling, “WAKE UP AND WRITE THIS SHIT DOWN BEFORE YOU FORGET IT! ...WAKE UP NOW! ...DO IT! ...DO IT NOW!”

I wake up in my bed once again and pass both a nose pinch and finger count. I reach over and grab my dream journal, flip it open and slide the pen out of the coils. I reach up and press the switch on the flashlight that is wedged between the mattress and the wall. The flashlight lights up properly and I commence logging this entry.

(Note: My maternal grandmother passed away about 17 years ago. She was the only relative that would listen to me and what I had to say. She was always interested in having conversations about anything I wanted to talk about. Most of my other aunts and such were not open to hearing anything that a younger person had to say. They would always say things like, “Children should be seen and not heard.” My grandmother was also the only relative that was not obsessed over the fact that I had no interest in girls. My aunts and uncles would always harass me and ask when I was going to get married and start having kids. Needless to say, it was always an enjoyable time to visit with her, and it was a very sad moment when she passed on.)

(Note: There were a couple of previous dreams, but I have no recall of them. This one is exceptionally clear and vivid, but my recall is suffering this morning.)

I woke up (FA) to it raining really hard outside. I get up and look out the window to see flood water running down the ditch and quite a bit of water running down my driveway. There is mud and large rocks washing down the hill, across my driveway and into the road. Several cars are trying to drive by between the rocks, but some of them are getting washed away. My truck is not in my driveway. It has washed up the hill and is sitting in the ditch up from my driveway. There are a couple of county maintenance vehicles also sitting there. I can see some bright blue flashes of light from the fallen power lines shorting out.

When I woke up, it was actually raining really hard. I'm certain that the sound of the rain on the porch roof outside my bedroom window interrupted the previous dream and brought this one on. I'm certain that I was 2 seconds away from lucidity here. I was just starting to notice that my truck got moved uphill in the flood waters, but woke up too soon.

(Note: During WBTB, I smoked 2 cigarettes of my usual herbal blend; Calea Zacatechichi, Mugwort, Damiana, Wild Lettuce, and Wild Dagga. I took 300mg Alpha GPC, a B-Complex, and 200mg L-Theanine with 2 glasses of apple juice. Immediately before returning to bed, took 8mg Galantamine+Choline. I attempted a WILD, and had some interesting results.)

I climb into bed and put my flashing LED glasses on. I set the brightness very low and set the speed to approximately 12Hz. I slowly turn up the brightness to a comfortable level. At first, geometric patterns begin to form in a chaotic fashion. The patterns slowly move around and form into structures. They are becoming well organized, sliding around and fitting together like puzzle pieces. Once the puzzle completes the assembly of itself, the texture of the patterns melt into a solid white plane that seems to maintain sync with the flashing. As my brainwaves try to stay in sync with the flashing, small corrections cause the flashing to become very apparent for split seconds until my brain corrects the synchronization. In my experience of electronics, it seems that my brain was functioning like a PLL (Phase Locked Loop) circuit, making minor real-time corrections to maintain a frequency lock with the reference source, the LED glasses. After about 5 minutes, I remove the LED glasses while keeping my eyes closed.

I decide to try my first waking attempt at a WILD, so I relax fully and perform the stop-drop-roll technique I read about in one of the DV forums. This felt pretty good, as all the tension builds up in my arms, then shoots out of my fingers when I drop my arms. While remaining entirely motionless, I begin my mantra, “I will do a reality check and become lucid” with my internal voice to help reduce and eliminate the internal chatter. Within a couple of minutes, my fingers and toes start to vibrate and the waves slowly travel up my legs and arms. The vibrations are out of sync at first and collide with each other, but they slowly get in sync as the vibrations approach the center of my body and intersect with each other. This vibration intersection and synchronization process is quite uneasy, as I have to override multiple extremely strong impulses to move my body. I read about this several times, so I feel that I am well prepared to handle it. After what felt like 30 minutes, my dream eyes opened by themselves and I can see a deep tunnel full of thick glowing white spider webs. I attempt to find my hands so I can count my fingers to confirm my lucidity, but I am tangled in the web. There is absolutely no doubt that I am fully lucid, but I have poor control. I pull at my arms a bit harder and the vision went black.

A false awakening (FA #1) put me back in my bed where I could feel my body vibrating again. I keep my eyes closed and clear my vision canvas. I focus on my past memories of the Arizona White Rock Canyon, which I had visited about 6 years ago. I would really like to try and accomplish one of my dream goals by flying through the deep canyons. I start to form a clear and detailed vision of the rocks, but suddenly the vibrations come back and crumble the rocks. A large fissure develops in the ground and I am free falling into near darkness. I try to jump and fly, but the gravity in the fissure is Jupiter-strength and I cannot fight against it. At the end of the fall, I crash into the ground quite hard and a lot of rocks and debris fall on top of me. (Note: This is the first time I recall potentially being killed in a dream.)

Once again, an FA (#2) into my bed and I can feel my body vibrating, quite a bit less than before. This time I make no attempt to steer the dream nor open my eyes. After a brief moment, I find myself laying in my bed with my winter boots and a heavy coat on. My right hand is in my coat pocket, trying to pull out a plastic box about the size of a 25-CD storage case. As soon as I pull the box out, strong vibrations travel up my right arm that create an intense wave that rolls through my body and bounces off the opposite end, my left leg, then make a U-turn and travel back out my right arm. After the vibrations stop, I hear a loud pop sound.

Once again, I FA (#3) into my bed. Opening my eyes, it appears that I am actually awake. I stare at the ceiling for a moment, trying to recollect my thoughts and figure out what I want to do with this dream. I climb out of bed and go into my bathroom. I try to turn on the light, but it won't turn on. I exclaim, “Shit! I can't believe that FA got me! That's bullshit.” I look in the mirror and my face starts to melt, then turns sideways in the reflection. I float off the floor and my feet are almost touching the ceiling, as if I'm being steered by my reflection. I look into the mirror again and there is a vortex with bright streaks of lightning swirling around in it and my reflection is gone. There is a rumbling noise in the background, resembling the sound of a large waterfall from a distance. I try to move myself toward the mirror, but I am suspended in the air and unable to move. A person approaches from the vortex in the mirror and starts to reach a hand out toward me. I was a bit unnerved that I could not move, so I closed my eyes and pushed as hard as I could with my legs. As I am pushing, I hear a sound that resembles squeaky brakes on a train in the distance.

I FA (#4) back into my bed again. The vibrations are faint and move slowly down my legs and disappear off the tips of my toes. I can feel myself floating off the bed, so I try to turn it into flight, but I fall through my bed and roll out from under it. I try to stand up, but end up floating instead. I can see myself in the bed. I look at my hands and I have at least 7 fingers on each hand. I can feel the texture of the blanket and hear the computer fan running. I turn to look at the window and fall backwards.

Once again, I FA (#5) into bed. Getting a bit frustrated after 5 FA's, I decide to wake up. I just told myself to wake up, and I sat up in bed. A nose pinch and finger count confirm that I am awake, then a follow-up RC with the light switch for a triple-check. I sit down at my PC and write my log up to this point. I intend to go back to bed in a bit and see if I can WILD again, but I think I'm way too awake now.

I get back into bed and squirm around a bit until I find that comfortable position. It's that magic position where the blanket is not pulling in any direction and the pillow is no longer making that scrunching sound. My legs are relaxed and the toes are hanging just off the edge of the mattress so they're not cramped up. This time, I change my mantra to, “I have control of everything” which I hope will work towards rectifying the control issue that I had earlier. I lay motionless for about 30 minutes and I can feel the vibrations of SP coming on again. The vibrations start from the center and work their way out to the ends of my fingers and toes, then slowly disappear. I see a bright flash of light and hear a burst of TV static sound.

I find myself in yet another FA (#6) on the couch at a friend's house. My friend and his girlfriend are both standing there, looking at me like I have two heads or something. I look at them for a second, then I look at my hands and count 3 fingers on my left hand and 8 fingers on my right hand. I am already lucid, but this reinforces it. I look back at them and say, “Buzz off” as I wave my hand at them. They both walk away and leave me alone. I get up off the couch and walk over to one of the many windows in the room. I raise the blinds, revealing a crowded shopping mall outside the window. I think about climbing out for a second, then decide that I'm at the wrong window. I close the blinds and move to the next window. The second window reveals a stormy, choppy ocean with lightning streaking across the sky. I can see the flashes from the lightning reflecting off the floor and walls of the room. Being uninterested in diving out into the middle of a storm, I close the blinds and move to the next window. The third window shows a mountainous terrain in the background and a rich green meadow full of flowers in the foreground. There is a stream winding its way through the meadow and there are birds flying all around. I thought to myself that this is way too peaceful of a scene and I absolutely must inject some havoc.

I do a quick nose pinch and shove my finger through my hand twice to make sure I'm good to jump out of a window. I take a step back, kick the glass out of the window effortlessly, and then jump out. Just as I am starting to gain flight control, I suddenly land on something. I look down to find that I just landed on Falkor's back right in front of Atreyu from the first Neverending Story.

Atreyu grabs my shoulders and says, “Hold on!” Falkor makes a quick turn and starts flying high into the sky. I thought for a second that this was kinda cool, but it definitely not what I had in mind. I jumped off Falkor's back and did a nose-dive straight into the ground. This was the dream's exit.

I woke up kinda mad that I jumped off and lost the dream. I should have just went for the ride, but whatev...

      #1. Lack of recall (fragment)
I remember having a very vivid, but short dream. There was plenty of out-of-control flying and crashing through trees and other things, but I don't recall very much of this one at all.

      #2. Goodbye annoying DC!!!
(Note: This one was quite interesting, as I had several false awakenings that all landed me back into my bed with my hat in the exact position that I went to sleep with. Sometimes, when it's cold I'll sleep with a knit hat on instead of turning up the heat. During the dream, I clearly recognized that I completed one of my short-term dream goals, but failed to realize that I had also completed the basic task of the month. It's quite possible that flying into something in the previous dream lead me to this scene.)

I get up out of bed and push my hat up and out of my eyes. Realizing that I went to sleep with a hat on, I wonder if I am really awake or not. I walk into my living room to find a large mirror on the floor. Thinking that this is somewhat strange, I lift the mirror and lean it against the table. Upon not being able to see my reflection in the mirror, I became lucid. I began to move around, trying to align my reflection in the mirror with no success. A DC is standing behind me, asking me if I was dreaming, over and over and over again. I think about trying to put my hand through the mirror, but am quite distracted by my DC. Becoming quite annoyed at the DC, I turn around to tell him to shut up. The moment I turn, he looks away from me. I wave my hand in the air, as if I was waving goodbye and the DC begins to melt into a puddle on the floor. I yell at the melting DC, “Thank you for melting into nothing, you annoying mother-f***er. You just aided me in completing one of my short-term dream goals.” The DC stares at me with a frightened expression while he melts away into a smoldering puddle on the floor. I am already lucid at this point, but I decide to try an RC that has never worked for me before, pushing my finger through my hand. It is a difficult decision to choose which finger I wanted to try, as there are at least 8 fingers on my right hand and only 3 on my left. While looking at my right hand, all of my fingers fall off of my left hand and land on the floor. I finally jab the first finger on my right hand into my left palm. There is a bit of resistance at first, but I am able to push it through. I want to see if I can see the finger coming out the other side, so I turn my hand over. While turning my hand over, I hear a loud noise that sounds like a loud burst of static from a 2-way radio. I immediately false-awakened and found myself back in my bed with my hat pulled over my eyes.

Realizing that I am still lucid, I quickly get out of bed and push my hat up from over my eyes. While pushing my hat up, I count 7 fingers on each hand and no thumbs. I walk into my living room again and see that the large mirror is now hanging on the wall. There is a DC standing just to the left of me. After glaring at the DC for a moment, I walk over to the mirror and stare into it. I can see my reflection, but it is very fuzzy and distorted. I lean a bit closer to the mirror and put my hands on the surface. The surface felt solid at first, but gave way after a brief moment. My hands, then arms pass into the glass, then I completely fall into the mirror. While falling through the mirror, I heard a loud pop sound. I false-awaken into my bed again with my hat pulled over my eyes.

I reach up and push my hat from over my eyes, while counting at least 7 fingers on each hand. I try to get out of bed, but realize that my legs are paralyzed. I am fairly certain that the SP from my real body is penetrating into my dream. There are no walls or ceiling in my bedroom, as I can see the dark sky in all directions. I try to stabilize the dream by spinning. The whole room begins to spin and I start to feel nauseous. After trying to stabilize for a while, I attempt to move again. Suddenly, the ambient light in my bedroom changes from dark to relatively bright, as the sunlight from outside was starting to shine in the windows. As soon as the light changes, I am able to move freely and count 4 fingers and a thumb on each hand. I try the nose RC and am sure that I am awake for real. I sit down at my PC to write this journal entry, and RC a couple more times to make sure I'm really awake.

During WBTB around 4:15AM, I smoked 2 cigarettes of Calea Zacatechichi and took 8mg Galantamine, 400mg Choline Bitartrate, and 300mg Alpha-GPC with a full glass of apple juice. I attempted to WILD, but gave up because some part of my body would twitch, or I would feel like a bug was walking on me which caused me to move and ruin the oncoming SP. This happened twice, but there were no bugs.)

      Airplane ride #1
(Note: This is a fragment, probably lost a lot of detail in this one due to the amount of time I spent logging the next dream. I wish I had better recall of this one because I've never been on an airplane in a dream before.)

I boarded an airplane and flew for quite a while. The plane landed and I walk through the airport, looking for baggage claim. After getting my bags, I started to look for the exit door.

A huge hotel room and a covert operation. #2
(Note: I'm fairly certain that I awakened momentarily and re-entered the same dream, or it could have been a FA. This second part is quite possibly my most vivid dream to date. I also had more control than I usually do during the moments I was lucid, not to mention that I was able to complete one of my long-term dream goals. Stabilization was super quick and remained rock solid, with the exception of a brief moment that was quickly recovered from. My recall lost some of the environmental details, as I was paying close attention to the clearly understood technical details in this dream.)

I am checking into a hotel room, after getting off a long flight. My brother is also checking into a room just down the hall. Upon entering the room, I could tell that someone had been there before. There is a piece of luggage and some clothes laying around. The room is huge and had a full kitchen, two separate bedrooms, and a huge living room. There is a long hallway that connects all of the rooms, which have no doors on them. There are also several doors along the hallway. The living room has a full entertainment center with a very large flat-screen TV and a surround sound system. There are at least a dozen remote controls sitting on the table in front of the couch. I walk down the hallway and into the bedroom, where I put my luggage on the bed. The bed is a king size water bed with black satin sheets and huge fluffy pillows. I look at my AAA club card and smile, knowing I got a good deal on this room. I leave the bedroom and go to the door across the hallway. Opening the door reveals a garage bay with an old taxi cab sitting in the space. I ask myself, "Why would there be a garage in a hotel room? This is ridiculous. I must be dreaming!"

I open the door of the taxi and climb in to look around inside. The interior smells musty like an old car. I found an older digital camera sitting on the rear deck. When I turn on the camera, the lens motor is broken and will not deploy/retract the lens. I give the lens a tug and it comes out properly. I point the camera out the window and it has a difficult time focusing. Moving the lens around manually fixes the focus problem. I take a couple of pictures, then point it at the dash of the taxi and take another picture to make sure the focus motor is working correctly. I turn off the camera and the lens retracts properly. The camera works perfectly when I turn it on again and take another picture. I stuff the camera in my jacket pocket and walk back into the room, realizing that I had just completed one of my long-term dream goals. I stop and stabilize for a moment by looking at the ground and closing my eyes, then run down the hall to my brother's room and told him that I had just fixed this camera. He didn't seem too excited. I explain that I just accomplished one of my long-term dream goals by doing this. He is still not too excited, so I give up trying to explain and return to my room.

I am digging around in the bedroom and find some clothes on the floor beside the bed. I find a couple of black and gray striped Zentai suits that are made from a super soft and stretchy fabric.

I examine them for a bit, then place them on the bed. Digging further reveals a set of black cycling bib-shorts, cycling jersey, arm warmers, and a pair of cycling shoes. There are some other clothes on the floor, but I seem to be only interested in the soft stretchy ones. I immediately took my clothes off and put on one of the Zentai suits. The Zentai is very tight and feels amazingly soft and stretchy, just like a second skin. There is a medium tan tweed cloth suitcase sitting under a computer desk along the wall. Behind it is a huge camera bag with some various electronic equipment laying around it. I pick up the camera bag and find that it is empty. I felt the dream fading and could feel that my arm is going numb under my pillow in real life, so I concentrated on where I was just at and opened my eyes.

(Note: I lose my lucidity at this point, but the dream remains extremely vivid. There is a large time gap in the dream here.)

I walk into the kitchen and find a machine that appears to be a portable dishwasher for baby bottles. It had a small rack in it, a heating coil in the bottom and a hose with a hookup to fit a kitchen faucet. There is a window in the door and a control panel with lots of buttons. It is about the size of a large toaster oven. I push a button on the front panel and it starts to fill up with water. After a moment, it starts sloshing the water around and the heating coil heats up. I pressed another button and more water squirted into the machine, filling it slightly above the bottom of the window. I find this quite boring and walk away.

The kitchen sink has two small cabinet doors above it. To the right is some counter space and an over-sized bread box with two large cabinet doors above. The stove is a gas stove with two small cabinet doors above it. The range hood has a lot of extra buttons and switches on it. There is something that just doesn't look right about the cabinets between the kitchen sink and stove. I try to open the doors, but they will not open. I become irritated that the doors will not open and bang on them with my hand. One of the doors falls off and reveals a lot of electronic equipment hidden behind the doors. There is a video camera with some strange adapters on the lens. The adapters connect to a pipe that goes outside through the wall. I unscrew the adapter and lower the camera to the counter. The adapter has the brand name "Olympus" on it. I unscrew and remove the other half of the adapter to reveal the pipe through the wall. I look through the pipe and I could see the courtyard outside the room. There is a large green grassy area with a couple if sidewalks going around a fountain. Short bushes lined the sidewalks, and there were a few small ornamental trees. A couple of DCs in the courtyard immediately stop whatever they are doing and stare at me through the pipe. Directly across the courtyard, I could see a similar pipe with a lens installed in another room. I asked myself, "This is crazy, am I dreaming or something?" I unplug the cables from the camera and trace them back into the next cabinet where they connect to a Harris AN/PRC-117F military two-way radio.

I cannot read anything on the display, as the numbers are scrolling like a slot machine. I unscrew the connector from the radio and pull the cable out. I fish a couple more cables out of the cabinets and place them all on the counter with the camera. Directly under the radio is a Harris VRC-104 RF amplifier. The antenna cables from this amplifier go into the cabinet above the sink. There are two directional antennas on the cabinet doors, which point directly to the other room across the courtyard. One of the antennas has a label that says "440 MHz, 39 dBi" and other antenna says "2.2 GHz." I disconnect the antennas and the rest of the cables from the two-way radio and place them all on the counter. I thought to myself, "How am I going to fit all of this stuff in my luggage when I have to catch my flight out of here?"

I walk back into the bedroom to grab the luggage and start filling it with all of this equipment. When I walk back the hallway, everything quickly fades to black. I can hear the echo of my own voice yelling, “Stabilize now!”, but it is too late. This was the dream's exit.

(Note: I have not attempted to WILD yet in waking life.)

I am preparing to sleep on the floor at a friend's house. The room is a small living room with a couple of couches, a table, and a TV. There are several other DCs preparing to sleep on the couches and other areas of the floor. My laptop is sitting on a small table near where I am laying on the floor. The screen of the laptop is illuminated bright blue, but I cannot read anything on it. I get up and walk outside a sliding glass door onto a dimly lit patio. The air is calm and it is very cool outside. There are a couple of pill bottles sitting on the table. I reach up and pull a shower curtain closed around the table. I open the first bottle and take a tablet out. While holding the first tablet, I open the second bottle and take a large capsule out. I put both of them in my mouth and pick up a glass of water. While tipping the glass to my mouth, I notice that there are more than two capsules in my mouth. I reach in my mouth and remove a couple of partially dissolved capsules and lay them on the table. I think to myself that I'll just save these for later.

After swallowing the pills, I walk back to the area on the floor which I previously prepared to sleep. I lay down and adjust my pillow, then pull a small blanket over myself. I close my eyes and after a brief moment, my vision begins to flash and my body starts to vibrate. I got excited for a moment when I realized I was having my first WILD. I experienced a FA, placing me back on the floor at the friend's house. I sit up on the floor and become lucid. I realize that I am dreaming, and nearly just had my first WILD inside of a dream. I was lucid at this point, but had no control. Everything begins to fade as I jump up and look around. I try to look at the floor and stabilize the dream, but it's too late. I am already back in my own bed with my eyes closed, staring at the back of my eyelids. This was the dream's exit.

(Note: I was trying to decide whether to attempt re-entry, or get up and write my journal. I chose the latter.)
