    3 DILDs

    by , 09-20-2012 at 09:13 PM (734 Views)
I had 3 DILDs back to back early this morning. They weren't DEILDs because I didn't fade from awareness into the dream. Each time, I would just be kinda drowsy, then I'd get lost in some HI, the dream would start for a few seconds, then something would trigger me into lucidity. Still fun.

I don't have alot of time, had some crises this morning and I forgot some stuff, so I'll just run through what I remember.

I thought I had just woken up, but I felt weird. I started to get up slowly, wondering if I was lucid, and I felt it right away. But when I got out of bed and headed for the door, same thing as last time: it felt like my blankets were stuck to my body. Again, I just ignored it rather than fussed with it, and went out the bedroom door. Again, as soon as I left the bedroom and was in the hallway, the blankets were gone. I decided to do one of my personal goals, which was to just wander around, and let the dream do what it wanted without trying to control things. I walked outside and it looked like it was dusk. My vision was kinda blurry, but I just went with it. I sat down in the front lawn, and looked at the grass. The blades were really big, green and hairy. I touched one, it was really rigid too. I picked it, and it started oozing a green puss like liquid. It appeared to be oozing more than it could possibly hold. I squeezed it and a whole bunch oozed out on the ground. Gross. Then I felt randy, changed gender, and found a dude. Had some fun and woke up. I pretty much did the "had some fun" part 2 more times and that was that.

Sorry for the lack of detail. I felt kinda blah when I started the dream, so I didn't give it a full go anyway.

LOL @ you and that gender swap action...it seems to be something common for you. I've been a female in a few dreams, but I've never intentionally tried to become one.

Three in a row sounds amazing! I like that you were able to stay in the zone like that. I guess you must hold off on immediately grabbing the DJ as soon as the dream is over?

Also, you handle the whole "wrapped in a crapload of blankets" thing much more maturely than I do. You just... ignore it. When this happened to me, I wound up grunting and flailing around with them for a ridiculously long time, before finally balling them up and throwing them across the room in frustration. I think my 3-year-old son would have handled it better.

CL: I admit I'm getting worse with the whole DJ right when I wake up thing. For a couple reasons. Mainly it's a schedule thing, and I should really work that out. Who knows what amazing things I've forgotten as a result?!

At any rate, I've found lately that the less brute force in my LDs, the better. Nothing worse that getting all worked up over a bunch of blankets and losing lucidity or waking up. Learning to ignore this stuff is less about learning, and more about remembering. It goes along with that whole "remembering a list from your waking life." Now, when I'm lucid and crap is annoying me, like the blankets, I REMEMBER to ignore it. Vision problems for some reason are harder for me to ignore than blankets, unfortunately. I'm going to need another approach, like ThisWitheredMan's idea about a rewarding ritual.

In terms of rewarding rituals, I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Perhaps if you do the Basic TotM you'll find a tiny little doctor prepared to treat you to some free laser eye surgery.

By the way, this is probably something you've tried before, but does conjuring up glasses help at all with vision issues? I'm a contacts kid now but I feel like my mind is still trained to expect serious positive vision change when I put glasses on.

I have had fluctuating results with glasses. In fact, in one recent LD, I had perpetual glasses; every time I took off one pair, another appeared. In other dreams, things were blurry and I felt my glasses on my face, so I took them off. Then things were more blurry. So I put them back on and my vision remained blurry lol. Damned subC.

At any rate, I'm a contacts kid too now. Maybe I need to conjure them next time, see what happens. So what happens with you and your lucid vision I wonder?

Every now and then the subconscious will produce a real-life vision anomaly. For example, I sometimes get a slight blur and that weird, slightly drifty sensation in one eye that feels like your contact is shifting out of place. In-dream and IWL I just kind of do a hard blink and it's usually okay after that.

Never tried inserting contact lenses in a dream! I've been using em long enough to where I don't really require a mirror but that might be very cool in an LD.

My list of "cool stuff to try in an LD" grows much more quickly than I can knock stuff off of it.
