    Ophelia's Book O' Fun II

A WILD, a DILD, and 2 Failed TOTMs

In this case, "fail" definitely equaled "fun"! I went to bed at like 1:45am, thinking I had stayed up too late and ruined my chance at a lucid. But I did my usual WBTB at 6:45am and went back to sleep at about 7:30am. I felt oddly less tired than I thought I should have, so maybe that's why.

Anyway, I woke and fell back to sleep a couple more times, and around 9am or so, I woke up and felt the vibrations. It's been a while since I had a nice seamless WILD transition, so I was happy that I went straight into a lucid on the first cycle of vibrations I opened my eyes into the usual overly dark bedroom scene, and my eyes blinked on and off. I eventually could see fine, and so I got up out of bed, but I was entangled in blankets again. I just stayed calm, and kept getting up and moving toward the bedroom door. I left the room, and thought about the celebrity chef task. I went into the living room and saw a man that could easily have been Tyler Florence. I said "Tyler?" But he ignored me. "Hello, Tyler? Tyler Florence??!!" But he just kept looking in pantries and drawers, like he was focused on getting used to my kitchen. I should have been patient, because he might have still cooked something. But I wanted more attention So I said screw it and got on the floor to try the purgatory task again. I stuck my face on the floor, but it was hard and cold. I tried another area of the floor, and it went through just fine. Like the last time, a column of floor and earth broke away, revealing a fiery depth. I yelled something into the tunnel, forgot what it was. I was having more fun than focusing on actually accomplishing the task. I yelled something twice, and both times a hell hound appeared at the bottom and jumped up through the tunnel, trying to get me. But as soon as they reached the summit, they vaporized. I considered going into the tunnel.. maybe there would be levels and I could find purgatory. I stuck my head in really far, and I felt this sensation, like a force gently pulling me. I think I could have really shot through that tunnel had I let myself, but I pussed out again and woke up lol.

I went back to sleep and ended up in a non lucid where I was in my parent's livingroom. I don't remember what I was doing, but it wasn't long before I remembered that I was JUST in my bed moments before, so I'm dreaming! I don't know why, but I didn't feel like a TOTM. So I just walked out the front door. It was early morning outside, like 8am, with a cool sparkly autumn sun and long shadows. Everything was still green, and the lawn glittered with dew and looked like emeralds. My favorite time to go for a walk. Things were pretty vivid, so I just felt like going with it. I walked in the wet grass, barefoot, and I remember now that all I had on was a t-shirt and underwear. I didn't care, it was cool out, but not too cold. Plus I knew it was a dream anyway I felt like flying a bit, so I flew around the trees in low figure 8s. Then I walked some more, then flew some more. I flew up into a tall tree and landed in the nook between 2 branches. A neighbor's dog, Leah, a white great dane, came up to the tree, jumping and barking as if she didn't recognize me. Dumb dream dogs are dumb. I looked around at the beautiful 2 acres that my parent's house is on, lamenting the fact that I'll really miss this place. Because they're selling it in real life. After what felt like many many minutes of walking and flying, I woke up.

nice and simple, I must subscribe. so you find that you have more chances at a LD when you go to bed feeling less tired?

Good question, I'm not sure. I think because I felt less tired when I went back to bed, my mind was in a slightly more aware state. And even though I went to bed super late last night, I did have a long nap yesterday afternoon. I also ate some killer awesome salsa at about 9pm. Haha so maybe that's the magic combo

I laughed when you said "pussed out" by not letting yourself be dragged to hell through your kitchen floor. (In front of a celebrity chef, no less.) Cool attempt, though! You'll get there. (Edit: I should probably be more specific. By "there" I mean that you will successfully complete the purgatory task. Not that you're going to hell. LOL.)

The LD in your parents' home was wonderful to read. Was this the house that you grew up in? I know that ache of nostalgia well -- not quite pleasure, but not quite pain either. It's cool how lucid dreaming shows us that even when these places change or leave the waking world, they're never really "gone". Nice to know that you can go home.

Great job! I would love to have one of these multi-LD mornings you are able to pull off.

We moved into that house when I was in jr high, but I/we lived there longer than any other house we had. Been in the family for 25 years now, and it's really really beautiful. I hate the thought of it belonging to someone else. Me and Danny always joke that if we win the lotto, we'll buy it. Except I'm not joking.

And in all fairness, I get loads of time to sleep in on my days off, plus I HAVE to WBTB at 6:45am to get Chris to school. So it's the perfect recipe for multiple LDs really.
