    Apple Juice and Vivid Dreams

    While I did dabble about AJ in my other journal, I decided I'd post a more *scientific* one and my thoughts on using Apple juice to increase your chances of becoming lucid, as well as, improving dream recall (DR). I will warn you though, I've only used AJ once in an effort to increase DR. I AM a Diabetic, so consuming any juice late into the night runs into risks with blood sugar levels and does not fit into my daily regimen. The outcome I post here MIGHT not be the same one you'll receive from trying it out. Everyone is different.

    The idea behind trying apple juice came to me when I was actually using the forums search feature to look into a lucid aid called vitamin b-6, which I also have a pretty extensive journal on. The original thread that gave me the idea is HERE.

    That night I gave myself extra insulin and prepared to wake up at 3:45 AM to chug 450ml of Apple Juice. I fell asleep at around 12:00am. When my alarm went off, I instantly shut it off and drank back the AJ. I had high expectations at this point for it to work, and it didn't.

    The apple juice did not improve my recall, it did not make me have any vivid dreams, but it did make me pee.
    ** Please note, some users who TRIED AJ during a WBTB did have more vivid and better dreams. Consider trying it out for yourself.

    If I wasn't diabetic and wasn't restricted, I would try a bunch of other tests by drinking more apple juice and having some throughout the day - but it just simply doesn't work for me.

    Why Apple Juice? Whats so special about it?

    Apple juice ingested either before bed or during the night is said to stimulate dreams for SOME people. What it really does is increase the amount of Acetylcholine (ACh) in the brain. ACh is one of the first neurotransmitters to have been identified. ACh carries messages between brain cells, and most of our dreams occur during REM sleep when ACh levels are high. The neurotransmitter is linked to sleeping, dreaming, learning, and memory.

    In the end, AJ didn't work for me (probably because I drink it EVERYDAY!) but consider giving it a shot if you wish and see if it'll work for you.

      I noticed that the dream can become vivid when i'm focusing on certain senses but I will try the apple thing to see what happens. I'll try it with the solid fruit though.

      @Dawneye11 - LOL!

      You can eat the apples themselves, I've heard that works - but I think it's more potent when it's the pure juice (I saw on the thread that people had success with eating 1-2 apples) Goodluck!

      I've found AJ or the solid fruit to really work best if you eat/drink it right before bed. Even then it doesn't seem to have much of an effect.
