    Back to basics June

    by , 06-03-2013 at 03:56 PM (637 Views)
Although May has been a good month in terms of LDs (15 + 4 micro-lds), my induction routine has become very disorganized and I feel I need to use this month to work on that. I also want to attempt a more viable sleep/wake life balance because I have been taking lots of my meditation time to dream journal. So my current goals for June:

    - 10 proper WBTBs
    - 2 real WILD attempts
    - 10 mornings when I RC upon wake
    - rely on intuition as to how much to dream journal
    - possibly concentrate on fewer tasks during lds?

You had a pretty awesome May, congrats.

Sometimes you have to revisit the basics to get yourself where you want to be. Looking forward to your updates in June

Yes I think it is a good idea to take stock of the situation and review our routines regularly so no bad habits form.
Taking a more relaxed attitude may even help with the LD's themselves.

A good idea is to go over your best dream entries (not necessarily the LD's) to reinforce what you have already achieved, so you can build on it.

I read somewhere a post of yours where you mention about dreamlets before you fall asleep - I get that sometimes, but if I pay too much attention to them then I jolt/wake out of my semi-asleep state.

Hope you find the right balance and have good dreams.

I too need to work on WILD as it has always eluded me.

Yeah, I think going over past entries is a good idea. I have spent so much time writing the stuff, that I have forgotten to read the many entries that have cumulated.

I think I will start adding more colors to my private journal to easily catch my attention and find the best entries.

Thanks sharing that about early dreamlets, I was wondering if they are common. I must start paying more attention to them, because they may represent nice opportunities to LD (even if it is a short ld) and possibly prepare me to WILD after WBTB.

Thanks a lot guys! I hope we all get to have a very nice and lucid June and am also looking forward to your reports. Sweet dreams!

It looks like May was an awesome month for you, Nyx... congratulations! I think that your "midnight lucidity" experience will give you the perfect base to work from on this month's WILDs. If you can do it at the beginning of the night, you've already pulled off a very impressive WILD trick.

I don't blame you for narrowing down the number of tasks. I had no clue how you managed to keep it all straight!

      Have a great June!

I think the dreamlet thing is quite a common phenomenon, except we don't pay a lot of attention to it normally. I tend to lump that type of thing as HI in my DJ if I'm really lazy, but I guess the classic HI is the patterns, colours and simple forms which you usually see. Sometimes though you get sounds, etc.
You could try working with it, but in my case I usually get the sudden 'jolt' when I suddenly realise what is going on which spoils it.
('Jolt' as in conscious awareness rather than the hypnic jerk.)

The DJ colour coding sounds like an excellent idea BTW.
Good luck with the WILDing in June.

Me neither! As a result I ended up completing less tasks because my memory was totally overwhelmed. Well, as it turns out it is better to start with fewer things and possibly add more if you complete them, than to read and try to memorize a long list of tasks.

Thanks CL! A great month to you too!

I now tend to separate them in two categories as well. HI – the patterns, lights, sounds(rarely), things you usually see/hear in your room and dreamlets – which are more located in your mind, or rather you are slowing becoming part of them as you fall asleep. No idea what the potential from playing with both is, but it is worth a try.

Good luck with WILDing to you too!
