1. Spring 2018 Competition: Night Fourteen

by , 03-30-2018 at 04:19 PM
I become lucid in the second story of a house. I decide to do my three step tasks, phasing through a solid object, teleporting, and flying. Except I forget the order and think its phasing through a solid object and then flying. I phase right through the wall to the outside and begin flying. It is dark outside, but I can see small houses below. They gradually begin getting harder and harder to see, until I wake up.

While awake I remember that I had mis-remembered my ordering and had to now teleport and then fly again. I fall asleep again.

I become lucid again and do an RC. I remember I need to teleport, so I spin and then fall backwards (this is how I usually teleport). However, it doesn't work, and I stay exactly where I am. I try again with the same results. (The lucid was clearly pretty low-awareness because I usually have no problem teleporting.) There are several DCs around, so I think maybe they're distracting me, so I leave the house by walking through a wall and use super speed to get to a small abandoned building I could see nearby. There, I try again to no avail. I try a different approach, closing my eyes and trying to summon a different surrounding. I open my eyes and find I am in the exact same place, except there are flowers everywhere now. For some reason the flowers bother me, so I will them to disappear, which they do after I look back again. I spot some chalk and think I can make a portal-door with it. I go inside the abandoned building and draw a circle of chalk around my feet. Then I jump and will myself to fall through the hole and into another location. I begin falling through and then land somewhere, and think I've done it, but then I look around and see I am in the same building. I look up and see the hole that I fell through and above that is the same room I am in now. I have effectively created an infinite loop of the room. I leave the building, my lucidity gradually slipping away, but still semi-lucid. I see a car driving down the driveway and think that perhaps if I asked the advice of a DC and then followed it, I could trick my brain into thinking that I could do it. I approach the DC and ask them what I should do. They begin to say a bunch of nonsense, but as my lucidity is already low, I continue to listen. I lose lucidity and soon wake up.

I also had 1 full non-lucid.

2. Spring 2018 Competition: Night Twelve

I am standing it my kitchen when something (I can't remember what) prompts me to do an RC. I plug my nose and breath in and am shocked to find that I'm dreaming. I look around a marvel at how vivid and stable my dream is (my past few lucids have been right as I wake up so they have been very unstable). I look around and see a man and a woman. I say hello and they say hi back. I don't want them to distract me so I leave the room and try and remember my goals. I remember the grass goal. I know I get extra points for teleporting, so I teleport outside. There I see a field of grass which I walk over to and sit down on. I pick a piece up and smell it (it smelled just like grass in real life, but a little stronger, it was fun to experiment with how vivid the dream can be). Then I look around and see a pizza, which I eat a slice of (I forgot the picnic basket part). I walk over to another house, trying to remember something else I could do for points. I remember transformation and while I try to transform something, another DC approaches and tells me something about the house I have gotten to. I lose lucidity.

Throughout the night I also had 3 non lucids.

Points:
3 Non-Lucids: 3
Lucid: 10
RC: 1
Interact with a DC: 2
Teleport: 10
Completed Grass task: 20 points

3. Spring 2018 Competition: Night One

by , 03-18-2018 at 05:39 PM
I am in my house and suddenly become lucid. I plug my nose and breath in to double check, which works. Then... I immediately wake up.

I have a couple other non-lucid fragments, one involving a farm and another involving me inside my room with my sister.

10 points for a lucid
1 point for a RC
1/2 point for non-lucid fragment
1/2 point for non-lucid fragment

4. Advanced ToTM Completed: Inanimate Object to Life

by , 03-13-2018 at 09:33 PM
I am walking down my driveway, lucid. I try to remember a task of the month. The only one I can remember is, "Make an inanimate object come to life." I look around for an object I could use and can't find anything. Then I see an old hat laying on the ground. It's lumpy and strange looking. I pick it up and throw it with a spin, willing it to come to life. It transforms into a bird, equally lumpy and strange looking. It runs around confusedly, squacking. I try to remember another task, but can't. Then I think I do, but it's wong and I waste the rest of the dream on it.

5. Basic ToTM Completed: Folding Paper

by , 03-02-2018 at 05:04 PM
I wake up in the middle of the night from a dream and realize this is a good opportunity to induce a lucid dream. I check my phone quickly for the current ToTMs and find a couple that interest me. I decide to first do the task: "How many times can you fold a piece of paper before it doesn't work anymore... Or can you fold it endlessly?"

I fall asleep and find myself in one of the rooms of my house. I am lucid and recall the task. Luckily, there is a piece of paper nearby which I pick up and hold in half. The paper is stiff and it is a little difficult. I fold it in half again two more times, counting as I do, and the paper continues to fold as normal, but once I do it after that, the paper is no longer stiff and is easy to bend. I look closer and realize it is no longer decreasing in size when I fold it in half, so I can continue to fold with no effect. I lose count of how many times I have folded, but I have my answer: I can fold it endlessly. Now the dream either ends or I lose lucidity because I can't remember anything after this.
