    The Cake

    1. I was inside of the kitchen in some sort of large office building. The floor was made of white kitchen tiles and the walls were matching white. There were kitchen utensils everywhere and it was kind of a mess, as every busy kitchen is. I was helping make a cake with 3 other guys, 2 of them were really old men that looked like professional chefs, and the other guy looked about 2 or 3 years older than me and had brown hair and was wearing a jacket. I remember mixing in the cake ingredients and then putting the cake into the oven. After an hour of waiting(It actually felt like it) the oven went off and I helped take the cake out of the oven. Oddly enough, as we took the cake out of the oven it already looked completely finished with icing and everything. We put the cake on the counter and I looked at it. The main part of the cake was covered in white icing and the outline of the cake was red and pink icing in a fancy design.
One of the old guys got some more icing and wrote 2 or 3 words in the middle of the cake. Now it was ready. The 2 old guys and I picked up the cake together. I picked up one end, and they got the other end. We then brought the cake out of the kitchen and into what looked to be the lounge/dining area of the building. In this area, the floor was covered in red tiles and the walls were an off white color. I remember it closely resembling the setup of my living room. As we brought the cake in I noticed that there were a lot of people standing around and socializing, many of them women. We walked over to a chair and for some reason we decided to place the cake on the edge of the chair arm. Once we put it down the old guys started walking away. "Why did we put the cake there? That's going to fall for sure" I thought to myself. Just then the cake started breaking in half in the middle. Seconds later the cake ripped in half and fell to the floor, splattering everywhere and making a huge mess of icing and cake.
Everyone stopped and looked at the cake in disappointment while expressing signs of disapproval. "Ohhhh mannnn!!" one lady said. I could tell everyone was definitely looking forward to the cake, and now it was ruined. The 2 old guys looked back and saw what had happened and realized that they fucked up, as well as I for just leaving it there. Some of the cake had splattered onto my clothes and hands, so I decided to leave the room and go to the restroom to clean myself up. I walked out of the room and turned left and walked not far down a hallway. The hallway was fairly dark and the only light was the light coming from the kitchen and the dining area. I opened the restroom door which was on my left, turned on the lights, and walked in. The first thing I noticed was how small the restroom was. It had one small toilet that was in the corner of it, and the toilet alone took up about 85% of all the space.
I looked in the mirror and I think for once I might have actually looked like myself, but I'm not sure. I then look down at my hands, and instead of realizing how many fingers I had, I saw that the inside of my hands had blue lines and blotches in them. "This must be the icing" I said out loud. I turned the faucet on and washed my hands. After doing so I turned the water off and looked at my hands once more. The blue blotches and lines were still there. It was then that I realized that this blue color was coming from under my skin. "Holy shit, this must be from my veins. I must be bleeding internally" I said. I then became unnerved as I had no idea what to do or really how bad this was. I turned the restroom lights off and walked out. As I did so I looked to the left of me, farther down the hallway. I remember this hallway looking like the hallways of my house, but the dream version of my house where its really really dark, except this hallway wasn't glowing blue.
I started feeling a creepy vibe, so I turned right and walked back where I came from. I remember as I walked back, that the place where I had came from changed. The dining area and kitchen were no longer there. Instead the whole area had turned into some sort of living quarters. I continued to walk down the hallway and as I did so I saw many doors and rooms on each side of me. Along the way I also saw many middle-aged and old men all walking around with tan blankets wrapped around them. "All of these guys must live here" I thought to myself. The hallway opened up to a larger area, and in this area there were escalators. I remember noticing that the sun was shining brightly through the windows all throughout this area. I went up the escalators. When I got to the top I looked around and noticed that there were many people here, all around my age. I saw Emily and Josh. Josh walked up to me.
"Are you ready my man Cory?" he asked me. "Ready for what?" I said. "The Ex games bro, where your ex chases you and you have to run away from them and not let them catch you" he said. "Oh shit, hell yeah I'm ready" I said. Josh laughed and we both waited for the game to start. I looked back behind us and saw a line of guys and girls standing farther back than the rest of us, and I assumed these people to be the exes of everyone here. They all looked evil and malicious. I then noticed my ex in the middle of the line. Suddenly a voice said from speakers built into the ceiling above us, "Ready. Set. Go." With that every sprinted forward and started running down the escalators. Everyone's exes as well as mine were already really close behind us.
I remember seeing some peoples exes grab them and rip them apart. It was then that I realized that this was serious. I ran to the escalators and instead of running down them, I jumped. In the middle of the air I realized what a stupid decision that was. I wasn't wearing any shoes or socks, so this was going to hurt. I could see the edges of the escalator steps, and they were sharp. As I came down from the air, I landed hard on the edges of one of the steps. The step I landed on was only 3 or 4 steps from the bottom. As I landed, I felt the edges of the step dig into my feet. Two sharp pieces of the step broke off into my foot and with this I felt excruciating pain, something I've never felt in a dream before. I reached the floor where the escalator ended and I stayed sitting down.
I looked at the bottom of my right foot. The 2 metal edges that broke off of the escalator were protruding halfway into my foot. I quickly pulled both of them out. As I did so the pain increased and I let out a roar of distress. Standing not far from me were 2 girls I know from school. Haley and Rebecca(My God they are both gorgeous). The saw me in pain and rushed over to me to help me. "Cory are you okay?" Haley asked. What a stupid question to ask, but I didn't care because I was just looking into her blue eyes and content with the fact that she cared that I was hurt. They both got on their knees and started inspecting my foot as though they were nurses or something, and it seemed like they really knew what they were doing. I remember looking at my foot once more. Two medium sized holes were now in my right foot, and I could see into them. Oddly enough I wasn't bleeding yet, but I could still see the flesh underneath my skin. These holes were an inch or two deep.

    2. I was lucid, but I don't remember the details of it as, upon awakening, I journaled the above dream first and by that time the memory of the lucid was gone. This is the first lucid I've had during a nap in over half a year. I'm making progress.

So you don't usually look like your waking life self in dreams? What do you normally look like in dreams?

I couldn't take my eyes off the page as I was reading the cake part of your dream. XD Cake is so good. But it sucked how the cake fell. If that happened in WL I would probably explode. Also, I like how detailed you were in this entry. It felt like I was actually there as I read it and seemed believable at some parts even though it was a dream. I laughed when you said the broken up people were tearing each other apart in the chase. But for the part when you got hurt at least you were comforted and being taken care of.

I do look like myself, but there's always something different about me. Sometimes I'll have bigger eyes, a different hairstyle, facial structure, and all that stuff. I'm perfectly fine with my appearance so I'm not sure why this is. It just occurred to me that it's a dream sign haha.

Right, it was a tragic moment haha. And yeah I'm going for more detailed recall in an effort to get back to my golden recall days, and those days are returning for sure. It's weird how I experienced pain when I've never felt anything like it in a dream before
