    False Awakening

    1. Inmates got it made

by , 05-12-2011 at 08:09 AM (Trial and Error)
I had a dream that I was being shown through a prison.
I was expecting to see a horrible place but they were living in the lap of luxury. The inmates, while still dressed in the orange jump suits, had flat screen TVs, exercise equipment, nice tables and furniture with beautifully designed interior and exterior spaces, made of mostly hard wood. Plus all of them were walking around calmly and politely, not a care in the world.
I turn to the person showing me around and say "What the hell! These people are living better than I do, I should just get arrested!"

On the way out I see some one wearing close that I have. As she gets closer I realize it is me. Slowly many of me show up all dressed differently with cloths I have irl. It is at this point I realize I'm dreaming. I run around happy that I am lucid for awhile until I decide what to do. I take control of all the other mes and take a sky view of the area I spell "I am awesome" with all the mes on the ground (I hindsight I have no idea why, but it is funny) and go right into a false awakening.

I "wake up" in the kitchen in what I would best describe as a mix beween a dentist chair, a therapist couch, and the personality imprint chair from the show doll house. I turn and tell my roommate irl S that I went lusid and she gives me a high five. I go back to "sleep" and have another dream that I don't remember.
    2. Fragment and Melting Buildings

by , 04-03-2011 at 06:03 AM (Trial and Error)
It started of as the first day of my digital cinematography class with M.S. (which I had already irl). Everyone accepted everything as normal but I realize after waking up that the classroom looked like a chamber of some sort of space ship. It had curved, metal, sleek walls and was deep in the building.

M.S. Asks us if we had projects to present, and everyone said yes. Although it was apparent to me that no one even knew about it, but people started presenting anyway. After the first person or two she turned to me and asked what I had to show and I told her I had a guest speaker that had not arrived yet. She seemed excited and said that that was great.

I (apparently) could transform into John Smith, the main character from "The Dead Zone". And I figured that I could come in as him and speak, only I had to do it before anyone noticed I was gone. I was trying to find a place to transform. It took me awhile but I did, and I was on my way back when the dream changed.

The next dream started with me on the 4th floor of one of the buildings of my college (irl) waiting for an event I was running to start, but there were administrators in there so I had to wait until they were done before I could get anything going.

Behind them was a giant rocking horse that was rocking by itself. It was rocking at different speeds and different intensities. Slowly it began to sink into the floor. I seemed to be the only one that noticed it so I told people to look behind them, that the rocking horse was sinking. They turned to me and explained how the rocking horse rocked at different speeds and there was nothing to worry about. It was not my horse so I did not persist trying to tell them for long, if they did not care if it sank in the floor, that was none of my business. I watched it as it slowly became lower and lower, still rocking as it sank into the carpet until it was gone.

Everything was fine for a few moments, then the entire building began to fluctuate, ripple and begin to flop apart like baking dough. I yelled to everyone that the building was coming apart and they all began to run for the elevator. I yelled to them to stop, that this was an emergency and we had to take the stairs. Everyone quickly changed course and we began to run down the stairs as the walls seemed to be melting, and the stairs were missing sections.

Everyone got out of the building, and we all stood back to watch it basically deflate into a mushy mass. We thought everything was fine until we saw the buildings next to it begin to ripple and fluctuate as well. I soon realized that it was a chain reaction and soon the whole city would melt into blobby puddles.

A team was there quick with scaffolding to try and hold one of the buildings up, but the scaffolding began becoming floppy as well and some began to fall off. Others grabbed pieces of the building causing it to break off and gently fold to the ground to safety. At that point I realized I should warn the other building in my school that they were going to collapse soon.

I run over to the building and start yelling to everyone, they rush to the windows to hear what I have to say. Before I can warn them, someone on the ground grabs a megaphone and says "Nothing is happening, stay in class, thank you." I suddenly have a megaphone also and yell to them "The building you are in is going to melt! You have to leave now!" People seemed to hear, but did not think they could leave class still. I yelled "I know all of you have always wanted this kind of excuse to leave class! Are you going to pass this up?!" And with that everyone began evacuating.

I go into a false awakening of my roommate S telling me that I was screaming in my sleep.

I then "go back to sleep" to have pieces of the same melting building again, so strange

    3. I hate Justin Bieber

by , 03-17-2011 at 05:34 PM (Trial and Error)
The dream started off with me and my roommates (dream roommates) having a clean house.
For no reason Justin Bieber shows up (I got a strong urge to tell him that I could kill 28 Biebers if a swarm of them attacked me according to a quiz online ). He has his whole team of security making sure that everything goes smoothly while he stays with us, but nobody knows why he is there, and none of us like him.

As the dream progresses our dogs (some I have had irl some that I haven't) begin to mess up the house. They were jumping on things and breaking things, until the house was a wreck.
The Bieber security showed up and got us basically arrested.

There was somewhat of a dream skip but it kept going.

We were outside of this facility where we had been taken and the same guys that had dragged us out of the house were behind this strange wall (we could see through it , but it was a wall) aiming firearms at us. There were four of us standing in a square. We seemed to know what is happening, but I was still confused.

They shot one of the people in front with some kind of dart, causing them to collapse on the ground, and proceeded until all of us were shot and paralyzed. My body was so heavy that I could only move my neck a little. I watched as they, starting with the same person, shot a different dart. The first person shot was still for a moment, but then began seizing violently. My heart started going as I realized that my turn was coming up. They shot the second person, the same pause, then seizing. I began to hyperventilate, but was still unable to move as they laid their sights on me, and fired. I knew what was coming, but and began seizing.

A majority of the dream was many more darts in the same fashion, each one aching as it stuck into my body, each one with a strange side effect.

After a while they took us into a room, some kind of rest room to keep us until it started again. I tried to walk around, but was unable to keep myself erect, all my limbs seeming heaving, and my vision failing me. I could not keep my balance so I sat down, continuously complaining about our treatment and how it was to severe. No one was listening.

Some kind of dream skip, but it continued. I think there was an inferred few more cycles of the shootings and the rest room.

I don't know if we escaped, but I want to say we were released. We exited the strange room through some kind of tube into a system of tubes and chambers unknown to us. (They were somewhat of a mix between the tube transports from the show "futurama" and play places at Mcdonalds, only made out of several different materials) The two of us (don't know what happened to the other two) began climbing randomly through, still feeling horrible, and being extremely disoriented.

We finally find an exit and find ourselves in a world we do not recognize. A futuristic world, were we seem out of place. We suspect we have actually been held for several years and that the world has changed during our captivity.

I then have a false awakening in my bed at home and begin seizing again. I freak out thinking my dream was trying to wake me up before it happened. I calm myself down enough to sit up, by body still pulsating. I see my laptop siting in my bed showing research of the strange technology that I had seen in the dream.

I think to myself "Oh my God, the technology is real." and then I wake up for real.
    4. First Lucid Dream Ever! :D

by , 02-20-2011 at 03:11 AM (Trial and Error)
This whole adventure stared with a normal dream that I can't remember the details of, and lead into a false awakening.

I woke up the same place I had fallen asleep, on the couch, to my roommates L and S and S's family getting home from the Chinese New Year Parade. I turn to tell S my dream, but in stead she mocks me for falling asleep instead of doing my homework. I told her I didn't plan to sleep for long, and she asked when the paper was due on the story I was reading. I told her there was no such paper, I just had to read the story. She gave me the face of "sure there is no paper" and began to walk away. I decided to write my dream into my dream journal and that reminded me to do a reality check.

I pinched my nose shut, closed my mouth and was able to take a full breath. "Oh my God! I am dreaming" I say with excitement. For awhile I was just nerding out that I knew I was dreaming and the dream began to shift. I looked through the house and saw sections missing. Not like the walls just weren't there, but a loss of detail in the dream. I if I had painted white over it with photoshop. Not many of the things in the room were retaining their detail. I thought it might be because I was not able to retain all the information within my conscious mind.

I began to wonder what I should do. I could do anything. I turn to see my roommates S and M on the couch. I turn to M and say "hi" in a silly way. (It almost a ritual irl to keep saying it over and over each time getting more silly) She turns and looks at me with a blank, neutral stare. Clearly not interested in socially interacting with me. I am not phased (for I am used to that irl) I say hi again in an even more ridiculous way. She smiles and says hi back, waving in a cute way. I start to tell her that I am in a dream. I decided not to try and convince her she is not in a dream, I just feel like I needed to tell someone . I open my mouth to speak, and words come out in a soft raspy whisper. It was very similar to loosing your voice. I thought of a speech from a brain scientist I say on TED.com where she has a stroke and is analyzing herself from the inside out. There is a particular part where she is unable to understand language that reminded me of it. (which I found interesting upon awakening that I was drawing from my rl memories) I try to talk a bit longer and words become a bit clearer, but I decide to move on to try other things before my dream collapses.

I turn to see M's computer in the living room. It is playing mabinogi (her fav MMO RPG) by itself. I think, that maybe she is just set on follow, since we have made the mistake before, but at a closer look it is actually fighting and wining. After deciding that that was awesome I step away from the screen to find that nearly the entire living room has disappeared. I feel exhausted, and I begin to have trouble focusing my eyes. I decide to concentrate, and begin to think of what everything looks like so that nothing collapses. It did not take long for me to feel back to normal and for the house to be restored. I again decide to move on.

As if to answer the question of what to do next I begin to float in the middle of the room. I smile, totally thrilled, because that is the main reason lucid dreaming is appealing to me, flying. I continue to float until I bump lightly into the ceiling. I giggle at the amateur nature of my flying, but decide to try anyway. I open the window, and begin to soar into the peaceful, foggy city of San Francisco. I almost start to cry I am so happy. I am lead into another false awakening.

I wake up on the couch again to everyone coming home and I begin to tell S about my lucid dream. She does not seem as excited as I expected, but I am having trouble telling the story because I am super hot and fumbling over my words. I feel sick and she seems to think I am also. She makes the comment that if I ever think she looks like she might be sick it is because I am sick. I remember saying that earlier (not irl) and realize I must be running a fever. I am unable to move most of my body very far, so I ask her to help me up. She grabs my hand and pulls me to a sitting position, but I only fall back down again because I can not keep my body erect. I try to get off the couch, only to sort of slither with my blankets onto the floor. I still can't move. S then asks me bout my lucid dream. I tell her about how I did a reality check. I actually went through the motions, but purposely left space so that I could really breathe. (I wish I hadn't because then I would have known that I was dreaming ). After I explain about how the world was not there, it seemed like it had been photoshoped away, she begins to say how I am sick because I am working to much, and how I need to slow down, yada yada yada. I begin to defend myself and wake up on the couch.

I do a reality check immediately to find I am awake.
