Down the Stairs:

I'm going down some stairs in a dungeon. I'm looking at a map that shows the layout.
There are stairs going down with landings at each level. There is a half-circle shaped divot in the wall at each stop, maybe 6 feet wide in diameter, with a cut into the stone below forming a basin.
