LD #16 – “Taking my mother flying.”
As usual, this started off as a normal dream and, again, my RC habit paid off. In this dream I was at work, which was (in my dream) right down the street from where my parents live. I was on my lunch break and decided to run up to my parents’ house. I jogged up the big hill and turned on to their street. I continued to jog unit I was in front of their house. I noticed a neighbor’s cat, it was orange, gray and white and it was extremely fat. I called the cat over and it came. I patted the cat, its fur was very soft and it purred. I couldn’t get over how fat this cat was. I left the cat and walk to the side door of my parents’ house. I looked through the screen door and saw my mother. I walked right in and greeted her, and asked to use the bathroom. I headed for the bathroom and went in. I immediately noticed that the bathroom was much smaller then I remembered it being. I stood in front of the mirror and looked at myself. I looked exactly as I do in RL, except I wasn’t wearing my glasses. Yet, I could see my face clearly. My RC habit came into play at this point and I glanced at my left hand. I couldn’t focus on my fingers, and my ring finger was just a tiny stub. I picked up my glasses, which had appeared on the counter before me, and put them on. I tried looking at my hand again with the same results. I am Lucid. I walk out of the bathroom, down the hall and through the kitchen. I go out the side door into my parents’ side yard. My mother is standing out there. I walk past her and say, “I’m dreaming.” She responds, “No we’re not.” I turn back to here, shocked. DC’s rarely respond to me in lucid dreams. I say, “Trust me Mom, I’m dreaming. I will prove it.” I hope up onto a low stone wall and leap into the air. I fly up to about 30ft off of the ground and turn back to look down on her and smile. She is looking up at me in awe. She says, “That is amazing. You should patent this.” I fly back down and land next to her. I wonder if my mom and I are sharing a dream. I say, “Let’s go flying mom.” I put my left arm around her waist and lift her up, she weights almost nothing. I leap into the air and soar upward. I am above the tallest trees when I begin to fly over the neighborhood. I say, “Mom, you might be dreaming. If you wake up and remember this dream, let me know.” She agreed. I flew her over the trees and houses of the neighborhood and then I landed. I said, “Is there anything else you want to see?” She said, “Can you fly me up to that other house so I can see inside?” She pointed to a large forest green colonial house to my right. “Sure.” I responded. But the dream faded away and I woke up.
