    1. The Sad and Quiet Zombie Apocalypse

      by , 09-28-2011 at 09:23 PM
This was one of the most interested non-lucid dreams I've had in a long time. I always figured if I had a zombie apocalypse dream, it would be more akin to a nightmare. This dream...was not.

I was sitting with my parents and these two twin girls, Lisa and Ana. The girls were good friends of mine in the dream, or at least Ana was. Her sister was the snobby type that I could have done without. Regardless, all five of us sat there discussing the shocking news.
The zombie apocalypse had finally reared its ugly head--and it had done so in the most quiet manner ever. On the television, the news anchor explained that only about several hundred people had been infected by the "zombie virus". There were no corpses rising out of graves. Once fully dead, always dead.
      These zombies were different.
In the dream, no one knew how the infection had started and it didn't really matter. All everyone knew was that the victim's skin would slowly turn a pale green, then a puke color. Their eyes would eventually go bloodshot from the nauseating madness that was overpowering their minds. Then, the only thing left in them was the urge to bite and kill. All this took several agonizing hours. Becoming a zombie was not quick by any means in my dream.
Daddy turned off the television and looked at us. Ever the hard worker, he quickly explained that we needed special artillery.
"There is a type of gun,"he explained,"that can kill a zombie with just a few shots, sometimes even one."
The gun would absorb any sort of water and turn the organs into dust. It was a very internal death, with no outward signs of affect.
We all went and gathered the conveniently placed guns, save Lisa. Who fervently refused to move from her spot.
"I've got more important things to worry about than some fake zombies,"she explained with a flip of her brunette hair.
Her sister and I gazed at her with disbelief.
"Lisa, you need to stay with us,"Ana pleaded. It was safest to stay in groups, and houses weren't exactly zombie proof.
      "How about you shut up?"
I gave her a look and muttered,"How about you get back down to Earth, moron? This is reality, not fantasy."

As I had remembered that part of the dream, I cracked up.

Lisa, however, was not to be swayed.
The next thing I know, the artillery was gathered and we headed back to the living room. What we met was a shocking surprise. There, on the couch, was a twitching Lisa. In the short amount of time we had left, zombies had broken in and bit her nearly to death. We had no time for mourning. All of us quickly shot the zombies that were crouched over Lisa, their mouths frothing. Momma seemed especially amazing as she calmly shot three in the head, instantly killing them. Ana avenged her sister's demise by killing several of the monsters herself. With tears in her eyes, she shot her sister, mercifully sparing her the pain of the transformation. Hours went by, as more zombies crept in.
I had ran out of firepower, and needed to go get some more. Foolishly, I went outside alone. Miraculously, I was not harmed and no zombies ambushed me. However, I had apparently taken far longer than I had expected. There, sprawled across the floor, was my dear friend. She was dead, killed by her own bullet.
Momma looked at me sadly and murmured,"She took down more than any of us. Even after she was bitten, she still fought. Until, it became too difficult. Then, she killed herself."
There were no zombies in the room, only the faint stench of decay and an overwhelming feeling of melancholy.
I felt too numb to move and the shock of losing Ana was almost too much for me to handle.
My depression would have to wait, though, as my dad cleared his throat and said,"Um, Ash, we have company."
I looked up from the spot I standing on and saw a good looking guy around my age just several feet away. He had shaggy, brown hair and was a faint green. He had been infected. I aimed the gun and shot twice.
      "W-wait! I haven't been fully turned yet,"he explained.
Apparently, he had fought off his transformation for several hours. That in itself was astounding, but he admitted himself that it was taking its toll on him.
"I...I really don't feel all that well anymore,"he weakly explained.
"Well, being shot twice in the chest can do that to you,"I sarcastically replied.
He smiled and exclaimed,"Well, don't you have a way with words, Miss Redhead."
If the situation wasn't so serious, I might have blushed. The guy seemed pretty nice. We talked for a few more minutes, until he finally seemed resigned to his fate.
"Before I lose my sense of reason, please kill me,"he pleaded. This time, I was a bit hesitant. However, the poor guy was suffering and could not fight the infection much longer. I shot him several times and he slowly crawled to the couch.
As he lay there, dying, he muttered that he could feel the process of dehydration. I had to head out to put up the guns, assuring my parents that I would be okay.
I turned to the guy, who clearly did not have much time left, and asked,"What is your name?"
      "...Thomas."
What an old fashioned name. I looked at him for a moment more, then left.
A few minutes later, I returned. My new found friend was no more, my parents explaining that they had called for help and the bodies were in another room. I thought about Ana, Lisa, and even Thomas. How if it wasn't for the idiot who first got infected, they would still be here. All this left me completely speechless. Then, I began to cry.

I immediately wrote down this dream when I woke up. Not one part of it could be omitted and I spent about an hour recalling even the most minute of details. I haven't had such an interesting dream since that recurring one about that seer.

    2. Non-Lucid, Then a Lucid, Then Another Lucid!

      by , 09-26-2011 at 03:01 PM
This was a very interesting dream!

      Non-Lucid Part

I'm playing some version of a Kingdom Hearts game and I'm in Destiny Islands. All of a sudden, I see this portal. Not being one to back down from a portal, all three characters--Sora, Donald, and Goofy--go through the portal. As per my controling them, of course.
The next thing I know, I'm playing as Riku and every single Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy character is trying to kill me!
I'm thinking,"Oh, crap, Oh, crap..." as I try to turn every which way. There are portals, but no! They're on the other side of those as well. Finally, I see this ocean like portal. Think of Moses opening up the ocean and it's starting to part. Only this time the bad guys get through! Thankfully, that headache of a dream ends and the next thing I know, I'm running away from some threat with my younger brother. We see this small, yellow house and hide behind it. We're talking about what we're going to do about this threat--must not have been much of one because I don't even remember what it was. I see a gigantic tub of red Play-Doh near us and I valiantly offer to carry it up this nearby hill and place it next to a tree where it will protect us.
      Uh, right.
As I set it down, I realize I'm dreaming.

      Lucid Part

"Oh my, I'm dreaming,"I murmur. I glance over at my brother and don't want to leave him, but I can't see any more threats. I walk over and explain that I'm leaving. He just nods and tells me to be careful.
The next thing I do is get on a motorcycle. I suddenly remember that I should probably stabilize my dream.
      "Stabilize! Clarity now!"
I'm looking around at all the tall, silver skyscrapers and the people driving their cars. Riding this motorcycle isn't as exciting as running really fast--which I love to do in dreams.
"Wait a minute,"I think," shouldn't I be more excited that I'm riding a motorcycle and lucid dreaming?"
I never have to worry about waking up from excitement because I'm really, really calm in my dreams.
I don't press on this any furthur and just continue to ride my motorcycle. Why should I worry about something that needs no worrying?
Finally, I stop at this hospital in the city. As I walk in, some of the people glance over. A few of them even smile. Being the courteous person that I am, I return the smile. I want to talk to one of them, but I'm not sure which one to talk to. Finally, I see this older woman doctor with big glasses and dyed reddish brown hair. I ask to speak to her privately and we walk into her slightly cluttered office. She has a bunch of doctor certificates and diplomas on her wall. As soon as she shuts the door, though, I get severely tongue-tied.
      "I..I...I d-don't k-know...how...how to say this, b-but--"
"--But this is all a dream,"she brightly exclaims.
I'm flabbergasted. She continues to smile and waits for me to say something.
      "H-How,"I finally blurt out.
"Well, of course all of us would know."
I faintly think of all the stories about DCs crying when someone tells them it's all a dream. The stories of them denying it, or even worse, beating the dreamer up.
"Shouldn't all of you be upset or deny it...Or beat me up?"
She looks at me for a moment and says," Of course not. Why should we beat you up or deny what we already know is the truth?"
      "But, still...You...aren't real."
"So? Like you've said yourself before, we may not be real, but we still exist. You don't have to be real to exist."
I am pondering that comment and I realize that I have said that.
"Besides, you're always very nice to us and considerate to how we might feel when you change things around. It would be rude to beat you up or call you a liar."
I know she's right, but it still feels weird.
"Never mind all that though. Would you like to come overfor some supper?"
I nod and go eat at her house. I can't remember the rest, but I know that I was lucid throughout the entire thing.

After I woke up and wrote the dream down, I fell back asleep and had another lucid dream. Sadly, I only remember a little and for a very good reason.

      The Second Lucid Part
"Heck, yes! Another lucid dream," I exclaim.
My sister glances at me and asks,"Are you going to write this one down as well?"
I smirk and exclaim,"No need. The last one was so awesome that there is definitely no reason to write this one down."
Then, I remember that Scarlett Johansson was there but nothing else.
I have never had two lucid dreams in the same night before.
    3. The Cat, The Moron, and The Stressed Out Voice

      by , 09-25-2011 at 10:47 AM
Before I fell asleep, I fervently said over and over,"Please tell me I'm dreaming!"
Anyways, I fall asleep and the next thing I know, a woman is saying,"Uh, you wanted to know you're dreaming. Ashley, you're dreaming! C'mon! I did what you said to do!"
      "Man, shut up!"
"...What?! This is what I get for being nice? Pfft. Whatever. Go and be a moron for all I care."
So...That lucid dream attempt went down in shambles.

The next thing I know, I'm in my backyard and my father and younger brother are out in the shop. I say hello but they don't really acknowledge me. The next thing I know, a black cat is insulting me in the most awesome manner ever ( I really wish I remembered all that he said). I never got his name, but I get a strong feeling it was probably Vameel. The fact that a cat was talking should have been a dead give away that I was dreaming. -_-
    4. Driving In The Moonlight

      by , 09-15-2011 at 06:10 PM
I was with this unimportant person at this nice looking old house. It was surrounded by a bunch of dark green trees and an aging path led from the house to the road. It was night and normally I am pretty nervous to be outside during this time. However, there was a sort of comfort about the cool night air and the darkness seemed welcoming, rather than encompassing and frightening.
The unimportant person, I suppose we'll call her Wendy, needed to go somewhere. I had nothing better to do, so I followed her. I honestly don't think the girl noticed I was there. She and I walked over to her really old car and she got in. It was one of those snug black cars from the fifties. I thought about getting in, but I decided to just hitch a ride on the car's roof.
      My reasoning?
"She won't be going fast down this road."
As I'm looking at the moon and all the pretty trees, I smile and think,"This is wonderful. It's like a dream..."
Then, I realize that it is a dream. I'm quite pleased and don't let myself get excited, for fear that I'll wake up. I remember reading dream stabilization tips on this website and others, and try to use them. However...
      "Clarity now!"
      Same blurriness.
I pause for a moment, then say it again. Same thing happens.
      "I said CLARITY NOW."
My sharp and commanding voice did little if nothing to help.
      However...
      "...HD Vision now!"
Poof! Everything was nice and clear. I suppose I could have gotten off the car, but I was enjoying myself. So, I issued a few commands.
"I'd like her to turn down this road, left, up a ways."
The car went the way I wanted.
"This scenery is really nice, but I want it to be dusk instead."
Then, it was dusk. I stopped after that because I didn't care.

    5. My Lucid Dream Where I Did Nothing

      by , 08-06-2011 at 08:46 PM
I had a lucid dream last night. I was talking to my family and everything was so clear and I was even less interested in their conversation than usual. I thought,"Wow, everything isn't blurry. I must be dreaming." I pondered whether I should do something or not, but I was too lazy to try anything. So, I just continued to listen to my family. Then, I thought,"I wonder how they would feel if I told them this was a dream." I decided against it and just looked around the room. I briefly considered that perhaps I really was awake and had just suffered a moment of temporary insanity. But, I decided against that when I realized I had been in the living room with absolutely no recollection of what I had done before.
I'm a pretty lethargic person in real life, so it's no wonder whenever I do have a lucid dream, I more or less don't do much of anything. I prefer observing the characters and the scenery.

    6. Sleeping At The Rocky Beach

      by , 07-25-2011 at 07:33 PM
I don't remember all the details except of how wonderful it felt to be at the ocean.
I was a teenage boy in the dream. I don't remember ever being a different gender before in a dream, so this was a first time experience! I had sandy blond hair and I was fairly good looking. I was on summer vacation and I was enjoying playing some games (I think it was ring toss) at the fair. This girl came up to me and I thought she was cute, but not my type. She seemed pretty friendly, though, so we hung out that day. Later, I told her I was tired as we sat near a rocky area overlooking the ocean. So, I lay my head on her lap and just gazed at the ocean and all the clouds. I was near my favorite type of place in the world--a large body of water--and it was almost about to rain (which is my favorite type of weather). I didn't really pay much attention to the girl at this point, though I sincerely appreciated that I didn't have to get up and waste my time trying to find a pillow. I just remember that I kept falling asleep and then waking up to the sounds of the waves and the occasional clap of thunder in the distance. When I woke up, I felt a sense of loss. I always feel a sense of loss when I have a dream involving a large body of water.
    7. Talking To A Cashier

      by , 07-13-2011 at 02:38 AM
Well, I had a lucid dream, but I only consider it a semi-lucid dream because I couldn't really control what I was doing.

So, I'm driving--why do I always have driving dreams?--when I stop by the local Texaco. As soon as I walk in and see how dirty it is, I instantly realize I'm dreaming. Because the people at this particular gas station in real life normally keep it fairly clean. So, I'm thinking,"Holy crap! Awesome! I'm dreaming and I actually know it! Time to take some candy without paying!" Well, I went as far as taking the candy before I went up to the cashier and gave him the money. He gives me this really stern look and says,"You weren't planning on stealing this, were you?"
"No, sir, of course not,"I say seriously. Except, I didn't mean to say it. So, while I knew I was dreaming at this point, I couldn't control my actions.
"That's good,"he exclaims cheerfully. He points to two teenage boys wearing ugly shirts and baggy jeans and says,"See those kids right there?"
      "More or less, yes."
"Just last week they were caught stealing some sodas and magazines. Some reason, the scumbags weren't even arrested. In fact, the cops just let them go."
He is clearly irritated over this and I can't help but feel sorry for the guy. Real or not, no one should have to deal with that crap. So, I almost feel bad about wanting to take the candy. Though, in real life, those boys definitely wouldn't have gotten away with that.
      I say,"Well, I need to go."
He nods and exclaims,"Just be safe on the road. I think it's going to rain soon."
I nod and walk out with my gummi bears and cinnamon candies, mentally kicking myself for not being able to control my dream even though I knew I was dreaming. I woke up shortly afterward.
    8. The Very Dull Dream

      by , 07-12-2011 at 12:13 AM
I thought I was awake and I went into my dad's room (where the computer is) and my sister was in there watching a movie. Since she was watching it on the computer, I couldn't get on. I didn't care about what she was watching but I do know that it was a live action program and there was probably about 20 minutes left of it. I sat on the bed and said,"You know, I was supposed to get on after Ross. Hurry up and finish that stupid high school show." She said okay and I woke up.
    9. The Wandering Sister

      by , 07-11-2011 at 05:25 AM
This dream occurred on July 10, 2011.

I was driving my car--for those interested, it is a 2002 Ford Taurus--and occasionally gazing at the scenery. I live in a small Southern town, so all I really saw was a post office and one of many churches. Eventually, I got to the area where I should have stopped at a crossroad, but it was a curve instead. In the dream, it always was a curve, and so I didn't think much of it. I continued driving and admiring the scenery. By now, I saw mostly summery green pastures and trees. Plus cows. Lots of cows. Once again, nothing new. All of a sudden, I saw a girl with short brown hair walking down the road. I slowed to a stop and thought she was one my sister's friends (for some reason, I was thinking it was Sakura Kinomoto from Cardcaptor Sakura) from school. I wanted to ask her if she knew where my little sister was. Then, closer examination revealed that it was actually my ten year old sister, Caitlin, that I had been looking for. I immediately made her get in the car because I had been very worried about her. As she reluctantly got in, I thought," She did it again. Why does she constantly try to go to his house?"
I guess we drove back, because the next thing I know, we are in the kitchen and I am reprimanding her for running away again. In the dream, she had been known to run off to a friend's house or just continue walking down the road. I had no idea why.
Clearly annoyed, I ask," Katie, why do you always run off to that boy's house or down the road like you don't have any sense?!"
Also clearly annoyed, she says," When have you ever cared before?!" I'm in absolute disbelief and I explain," Of course I care. I'm your older sister. You were gone so long this time and everyone was worried. I was sent to look for you. Please don't run off again." She reluctantly agrees and I am pleased with her answer, though in my heart I know she is going to do it again. Then, I woke up.
