      Xvaiuer's Workbook

Heya! I'm pretty young, I'm only 13 so I'm pretty glad that I found LDing at such a young age. A lot of my friends know about them but are like "Uhh I can't have them." And I'm like "YES YOU CAN." xD And the ones that can LD, don't really do anything about it, but that's off the subject. I'd say I'm sort of good. I average about 3 a week, although this week I haven't had any. I do keep a Dream Journal, and I started my Dream Journal on here a couple nights ago, and when I wake up in the morning I write it down in my DJ, then get on the computer and copy what I wrote down onto here. I used to perform RC's a lot, but it's kind of gotten away from me. I still do them occasionally but not nearly as much as I used to, because I realized I barely got LD's from doing RC's, so now I just perform the RC's to make sure I'm dreaming. I've only flown once, and that's what I try to do every single time. I am very good at teleporting, but that's about it. There's way more that I can't do then what I can do..So what I'm asking is, how can I get LD's more often, and how can I control them more?

      Welcome to DILD class!

Wow, 3 a week is very good. But you list only 10 in your LD count. Did you start to LD long time ago?

RC don't really get people lucid. The awareness does. That's what will give you the idea that you might be dreaming and it will give you an urge to RC in a dream.

You can work on your awareness by practicing daytime awareness. Here are a few links for that.

      ADA
      Self-awareness

And here is what I'm using. Just a short awareness question "wow, am I dreaming?" with lots of emotions.
Collection of techniques for DILD Check out the Random awareness technique part.
This has helped me a lot.

As to control, you will get better at it as yo go. Basically, if you believe that something will happen, than it will happen. Dreams are formed by our thoughts. More about it in Dream control section of the forum.

Good luck and let me know how it goes

I've probably had around 15, but I never kept track so I just estimated ten. And it's been a while since I had one, I think it was last Thursday when I had one. I've known about them for a month I think, or maybe a little more.

      ADA

I just learned about ADA last night. I tried to do it in school today, and I felt like I was doing pretty good. Like I was noticing people doing things while I was also paying attention to the teacher. It was pretty awesome.

And also, you said if I was believed it would happen it does happen, but I truly believe that I can fly in dreams. But I never can. I fall right back to the ground, and that kind of gets me upset in the LD's and I tend to wake up after that. Anyway how I could learn to fly?

      Keep up the ADA.

Instead of concentrating on act of flying, look someplace further away, and wish to move there. See what happens.

Oh goodness. It's been so long since I posted on here, I kind of forgot. Sorry!!!
I'm in a bit of a rough spot with DILD. I used to have a lot more LD's then I'm having now. I get 1 a week now usually when I used to get 2 or 3 if I was lucky. It's not just a dry spell that'll go away, it's been like this for a month. I'm doing the exact same thing as I used to, except I've stopped doing RC's completely now..Is there anything I can do to start having them more often again?

A dry spell can go for a month or even longer, especially if you are stressed over something.

Try a WBTB or a nap. Go back to RCs, but pick a new one. The point is to make it interesting for your mind. To make it something new, tha you mind doesn't know about yet. Your practice may have turned into a rutine. Spice it up a little.

This is what got me out of the dry spell:

Gravity RC - after you say your awareness question, tell yourself "if this was a dream, I would be floating" and push yourself off gently, fully expecting you float up.
Change something RC - look at anything and say "if this was a dream, that [wall] would be [blue]. Replace items for something that's fun and exciting for you.

If you want to, give yourself a few day break, except don't stop DJing to keep your recall up. Good luck

I can't believe it..I just woke up from a dream where I was having a FA, and I went downstairs to eat breakfast with my parents. I did a RC and I still didn't become lucid! My hands looked normal, except the nails were a little bit shorter than I remember, but I observed my hands for a good 5 seconds before concluding I was awake...wow! But you mention the Gravity RC, I have trouble with floating up, even if I expect it to happen, so I'll try the other one and report back on how it works! Thanks

When you ask yourself if you dreaming and when you RC (in waking life), you have to believe you are indeed dreaming. Otherwise, when you ask the question and RC in a dream, you will concude you are awake. Makes sense?

Not so far, it didn't. i got lucid every time I RCed. But don't worry, I hear that from many. Try to work more on your awareness.
