      asking DCs for things

A few nights ago in a string of micro-LDs I asked a woman for a flashlight because it was a dark lucid, but she just yelled at me to get my own and made me feel like I was just a poor beggar for asking her for one and then asking to rent it from her lol.

In the next micro-LD for the FA after said dream while passing a very tall male DC I stopped him and said 'um excuse me, but you have a flashlight.." He cut me off and was surprised he had a flashlight in his back pocket. He quickly handed it to me then continued to walk away.

What I learned from these LDs is you don't always get what you want by politely asking for it from a DC but you can always tell them they have something to give you lol.

Anyways thought this might help as I am slowly gaining more dream control and summoning power in strange ways that work for me and figure it might for someone else

      Take Care,
      D.G.

Nice. I mostly point at the ground and say "FLASHLIGHT"
Or if that doesn't work, I use my face, I just imagine my face letting off brightness. Hehehh.

You might want to reflect upon the events on a much deeper level. Look at the two events in terms of your will. Which worked and which did not--why. It was not about being polite, but how you asserted yourself. You are being taught.

Secondly, what does the light mean? Look at it metaphorically. Then understanding this, why was the first approach wrong, and the second right?

Uh, Philosopher, some of us prefer to have fun in our dreams rather than gain knowledge, think of it this way
      Library or Theme Park?

I am well aware that some people are more easily amused than others. I, myself have always been easily amused, for I cannot ever remember being so bored as to desire to go to a theme park.

You have a great point, I will have to reflect on this a bit and I do think to some extent I am being taught by my dreams. It is fun lol, but some times I like to just have fun like Sergron said. Some times dreams are just dreams and other times they are meant to teach us. This is why I would like to met my dream guide again to ask a few more questions and get strait answers.

Thanks for the reply and the thought.

      I almost sig'd this.

And personally I think it just varies person to person and even DC to DC, but usually in my dreams I always treat them well, so I never have problems... unless they're fundamentally antagonistic, in which case I usually kill them... don't have time for the troublemakers.

      Great observation. Context is everything.

I am not a religious person, nor can I ever be one. I use to be agnostic, however, it was not until I was in my mid 30's that I was led, via the lucid dreamstate to the Scripture. I did a lot of exploring and playing in the state prior to this. I used the state to explore understanding. At first I resisted--then, to my surprise, I found that I was understanding the Book differently than men teach about it. . It has a great deal to do with what I was exploring which has always been truth in language. See Job 33:14-17.

I do not see myth in the text, but metaphor pointing to quite basic facts in biology and language. I eventually, and I mean eventually, found what I was looking for. I do know if you look for nothing, that is exactly what you will find.

I have never tried asking for something in a lucid dream before but in one non lucid in which I had control over I asked my friend for a gun and he gave it to me then pulled another one out of thin air for himself. (even though he had a pistol taped to his head(dont know how I missed that) a shotgun on his back and a rifle in a sheath on his hip) And later in that dream i was by myself and was out of bullets so I dropped the gun and made one out of nothing like he did. Oh and I also gave a gun to another DC. We all freely traded stuff no questions asked.
I accept that my reality is always a dream so if something changes I know I'm right.

Sounds like a fun dream. I normally have great success asking DCs for things, but this one dream was weird for some reason, I guess because I was trying to use different methods for light then I normally do so I guess a part of me wanted to use a different method for the different method lol If that makes any sense.
