      How make dreams longer?

Im having a lot of LDs lately, but never had a long LD..
      normally they last 30-60sec.

I do that thing of rubbing hands, and it make the dream clear, but it will end soon, dont matter what.

I need tips on what to do in the dream, BESIDES rubbing hands, and being calm, to make it last longer.

Rubbing hands is a good technique, so keep doing that. Also, looking around (spinning around in a very slow circle and just taking everything in) can also help ground you in the dream. Doing basic math problems, such as adding five to three and answering is another method. It also helps to maintain lucidity, not just keep the dream itself going.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Find whatever object, and, observe it, smell it, feel it, lick it, and make sounds with it. Basicly, you must usee all of your senses, and do it all the time!

      Hope it helped

I doubt he wants to experience a nightmare about his math class. It's scary enough the first time through!

Anyway, I just say you sit back and wait for the dream to get a grip on itself. Either continue the dream's plot for a little bit longer or just sit down and wait for the dream to settle. I also recommend reading the tutorial in the DV Wiki that explains how to stabilize your dreams. That might help you a bit.

Also, don't go around doing whatever you feel like doing, as that will just destabilize the dream even further and ruin almost all of your chances of the dream being a long lucid.

      Good luck!

I'd be careful with getting back into the dream plot, because you might lose lucidity. As for running around and doing things right away, Snowboy's right - don't do that. Wait a few moments before doing anything.

Indeed, yes, now I'm going to see that all over in my dreams this night.

Anyhow, I'm in the same situation as OP, so I cannot suggest anything, really.

My favourite is te let myself wake up and use the DEILD technique to chani them together. It's fairly easy.

when you become lucid, try to do as little as you possibly can. i know its hard when you get excited, but just sit down and look around. focus on the visual details all around you. feel the ground with your feet, hands and ass and feel the complex textures of your surroundings. listen in to anything that may be around. breath in and taste and smell the air

rinse and repeat if you ever feel it fading

edit: forgot to mention how doing these things when awake is also great practice at mindfulness

One side note: Don't forget your REM can expire at any time, so beware of that possibility! I became lucid today and the dream ended in about 20 seconds due to expired REM.
