Not screwing up the lucid dream tutorial.

This morning I had the most vivid lucid dream ever! I was in a hotel apartament and I suddently became lucid. It was so vivid, just like reality. I stayed and watched the room, but because it was so vivid didn't perform any reality check or stabilization technique. I saw myself sleeping in a bed, but didn't realised this wasn't my house... I pulled myself up and woke that me that was sleeping sowe were 2 ))So my lucidity drifted without me noticing. After that I closed by mistake my eyes, the fatal thing in LD, and woke up.

So I give some advices just from my personal experience:
      1. As soon as you get lucid, perform some reality checks
      2. After that feel your senses. All of them
      3. Watch you enviroment and shout loud: I am dreaming every 30 seconds.
      4. If it is very vivid don't be so sure you won't lose lucidity
      5. As soon as you see a DC realise it is just a DC, and do not let him change your attention
      6. NEVER, and I repeat NEVER CLOSE YOUR EYES!!! This always wakes me up...

Also you have to set your goals
      for me:
      1. Do reality checks and a lot of stabilisation techniques no matter what.
      2. Do impossibile things like hovering in the air, to remind that it is just a dream.
      3. Go and find the DG. I think after I meet him I will be safe from loosing lucidity.

Even the dream was short, It was a great lesson so I have to be happy about it.
I hope I helped somebody with this!!!

A pretty good list of things to do to make sure you stay lucid, only there's one thing I want to comment on:

I would say this is individual. People who lose lucidity easily might gain from this, but I wouldn't. I have to forget about me being in a dream, as it makes you stay in the dream longer. You want to forget yourself in the dream, but still being lucid enough to perform RC's and know that you're still dreaming.

      I agree.
I have found that in order to stay in a lucid dream for a long period of time, I have to let myself be absorbed by the dream.
This is obviously not the best idea if you have trouble maintaining lucidity though.
      Dreams are simple.
It's the painfully simple things the human mind cannot comprehend.
After all your mind is trained to understand the complexity of the waking world,
not the simplicity of the dream world.

Those things would be funny to do in a dream. I would agree with hyu and matt. Don't think about being in a dream. Don't think about your body laying in bed. Focus on the dream. Be aware at the fact that you are in a dream reality. Not the waking life one. But be absorbed in your experience. Tripping on omg I'm lucid in a dream will make your lucids short but probably intense and vivid. I would recommend just being focused and aware. This will make your dream vivid. Often people are spaced out thinking all the time or have their awareness scattered among different thoughts and their awareness of the here now which make them feel like their in a fog. Just stay focused. And you will stay in the dream. Thinking or focusing on your body will suck you out of the dreams state. Don't focus on the physical world. Be where you are in the dream for now. Just don't space out. Be calm and aware. This is key really. you are unlucid normally because you are spaced out and not aware of everything. Not obsessively aware but aware enough to see that you are dreaming. So ya pretty much. Rcs can help. Do them whenever you think oh I'm dreaming. Remember that. Don't just go oh I'm dreaming and keep going with the story of the dream. Do an rc. They always snap me out of it if I'm not really clear in my consciousness. Look at your hand or pinch your nose.
Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake
