      Complications, dream fighting my purpose

Hi, I've only had 4 lucid dreams, so I don't have much experience to speak of, but one of my important goals in lucid dreams is to talk to one specific person.
Each time I've tried to reach him something strange had happened, keeping me from talking to him.. Like once his house was gone and he had turned into a wooden mask, by a stone monster. I tried to make him whole again with my "absolute" dream power., but for no use, so I just killed the monster. Nothing happened. The dream ended.
Last night, I found his house, got through a stair paradox, and once I found him, he was like, 5 years old. And that's no use.
I can manage to do some neat stuff in dreams, just not.. make him appear, or fix him..
Any ideas how to solve this? It's like my subconsciousness is constantly fighting my purpose to meet him.. Extremely annoying, to waste precious time struggling through pointless tasks.. thanks ..

Yep your subconscious is creating a mental barrier probably for some reason. This dips a little more into psychology than dreams. For whatever reason your mind is preventing you from reaching this person it is probably for a protective reason. You haven't established enough dream control yet to overcome this. You are fully lucid in your dreams by the sound of it, but you seem to doubt your "powers" in your dreams. Simply thinking in your dream that will have a hard time finding this person or talking to him will create an automatic barrier. Instead once you are lucid or even before bed tell yourself confidently that you WILL see you friend and that you WILL have a talk with him.

Practice dream control by exerting it on a smaller scale. For instance, try to make objects appear (something small like a tennis ball). Warp objects only slightly and slowly work your way up to larger challenges. Then begin trying to maybe change the dream scene. Once you exercise your dream control enough you should be able to overcome that barrier

Yeas, that seems about right : ) Thanks.
I think I will try little by little, as you said. It seems right, as well as I will build up confidence in the possibility of everything in dreams, if I said that right.

Yes it all comes down to confidence in my experiences even a small amount of doubt that you can do something can hinder your ability in your dream. Good job achieving lucid dreams in such a short time though! Very impressive!

I primarily use WILD and DEILD. Personally I enjoy the transition phase from awake to dream most However, im currently working on ADA (all day awareness) to reach the pinnacle of DILDs.

I practice ADA as well I like not ignoring every little background sound, sight and feel, as I usually do.
Going to pick up V-WILD soon. Haven't really had much SP yet.. It seems fun, though, deciding when to have lucids

Well once you become fairly fluent with the WILD techniques and all of the variations, you will find SP is just a sign, it is not a prerequisite to have a WILD though. Most of my WILDs actually hit me before SP even sets in. It is a good notifier that you are close to a dream, but you can achieve it without

And yes that is why I decided to master the WILD technique, so I could have LDs at will. That is how I have about 5-6 a week, sometimes more.

I had a very strange spell that lasted over as many as 30 LDs. I wonder if your goal for reaching this person is the same as mine was. You meention him being 5 years old was no use. Is it a person you would like in a romantic way if you couldin real life? I don't know if that matters but mine was. I worked with a woman who seemed untouchable. She was so cool and I totally was crushing on her. I was very good at LDing even then (15 years back) and figured I would spend time witth the object of my crush in Lucid Land, and at least enjoy that. I did not openly think I wanted to find her and have sex, but I would have been kidding myself.
At that time I could use fairly good dream powers like flying and waking on command, but I could not even one time find this person. I knew where she lived, so in the dream I would try to get there, but DCs would distract me or I would get lost. I could never teleport there. I tried many tricks. One time I wentto my work place in an LD and looked for her, I saw her coming and she looked down and put a hand over her face and hurried off upset. The last dream about trying to find her was after she no longer worked there. She came up to me and was very nice. She showed me a picture and told me it was her little daughter and that she carried her picture around, but that it was wrong for me to carry a picture of her around in my heart, and to please stop what I had been doing. I never tried to dream of her again.
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

Yeah, that sounded quite similar, except with him it is nothing sexual, not even romantic. What she said, in your dream, sounded unusual for somebody to say in a dream, if you get me. Interesting
I am simply seeking him because I feel like I really miss him. I haven't talked to him in a very long time. He's just the kind of person I would like to talk to right now.
I didn't know him when he was five. Maybe it could have been quite interesting having a conversation with him as a child, maybe he even would have acted like himself. But it wouldn't be the same boy I'm trying to find.
Talking to people I miss in my dreams are one of my motives for lucid dreaming. In the long run it might be bad, but who knows? Sometimes it's just so much easier to find a way being happy as things are in life, if you can experience what you have lost or won't ever have in dreams.

Next time you encounter this person and they don't appear exactly as they should, ignore those differences. As long as you know it's still them, treat them and interact with them as if they were normal. It's very important you don't dwell on on those differences, mask or age or whatever. You could try not looking directly at then while you talk, and they should take on some semblance of normalcy.
