      Do you control your dream?

I am new to this site! ....but not live/dreaming!

....but, most people on this site don't seem to believe/know that controlling is knowing in the dream state. Or, can you "let it flow", knowing that your are awake/sleeping? Hmmm, do you? Well, at least it was one of my problems when I was last "lucid dreaming".

Strange, using the word lucid about something that is not. OK, it may sound arrogant, but it's not. Well, probably i'm not up to date to living/dreaming as most of you people seem to be doing? What about you? Doubts? I have.
(If you want to play, like doing so and so to achieve this or that in your dream state/awake state, I am not.)

Hmm... just a little disappointment about reading on this site, people discussing their "lucid dreaming"! Like they don't know what they are talking about.

Sorry, sounds too arrogant, doesn't it?!
Annars skulle jag inte ha sagt något. Vet inte om jag säger något mer på den siten mer heller. Lucid dreaming är viktigare en något snakk här på denna site....

Well, I just said that knowing is controlling. Just that.

If you are having problem with your dream state, then you are not knowing or controlling your dream/awake state.

Knowing you're dreaming is Lucid Dreaming. Having control is different . Some people have to work harder to have control than others...
Really don't know what you're on about...

Doubts you have? Although I still don't really understand what you're saying after reading that multiple times, this little bit reminded me of Yoda so I will reply.
When I first heard of the concept, I doubted that it was even possible. To me, it seemed so intriguing that I couldn't believe it wasn't a part of everyone's life. I understand your doubts of some of the concept, but I assure most people on this site know what they are talking about.

I usually know that I am dreaming. I sometimes stay conscious while falling asleep and go right into a dream, but I really don't like to do that very often as I find it uncomfortable. Most of the time I realize I am dreaming at some point in my dream, and I find it fun to go with whatever fantastical storyline my mind has concocted. I don't fully control the dream; rather, I tweak things here and there to make it more enjoyable. Lucid dreaming is simply being aware that your are dreaming. I think it's more enjoyable if you know how to control the dream as well, even if you don't always choose to do so.

(I'm guessing at what you're talking about.)

If you're talking about the way people define lucidity:
I may be new but I've had complete control in many, many, many non-lucid dreams (thank you, videogames!) and very little control in most of my lucid dreams so far. So in response to your very first post, I have to disagree that control equals lucidity.

If you're asking about what people prefer to do with their lucids:
If I had the choice between controlling the context of my dream or just going along with it (which I think is the point you're talking about) I think I'd like to go along with it most of the time. I think it'd be interesting to see what my mind would like me to deal with in a lucid and I'm curious about how I might solve those problems.

I'm still very new to lucid dreaming, though and of my 7 lucid experiences only 2 were stable enough for me to exercise control for an extended period and only 3 of my lucid experienced produced any result based on my will (the extra dream was a short experience with like, 8 false awakenings and was more of a nightmare).

As I gain more experience and learn to better control my dreams, though I'd like to try to take 'full control' of the dream more often.

He/she is talking about the way most people here define "control". He/she is saying that lucidity itself is "control" and the more "control" one has, the better for one's LDing.

I have to agree. What people here describe as "control" (ability to affect dream scenario) is basic level stuff that can be achieved quite easily without even going lucid: flying, telekinesis, summoning, ray-gun eyes etc etc. Real control is lucidity, control over oneself in the LD.

And like the OP wrote, there's not much evidence of it around here.
