For recall: I know this may sound weird but...take a shower. I find I'm alone and with no distractions, and I can recall dreams easier in the shower, including music note-for-note. |

When you hear a melody in a dream how are you hearing it? Are you just hearing it or are you singing it? If you sing it a few times immediately before awakening you would be utilizing muscle memory. When you awake your vocal chords might "remember" what they were just doing. This could give you at least a few extra seconds to remember it before the memory fades. |

Hmm...interesting. I'll try those things. The only problem is that sometimes the songs are extremely vivid, as if I have headphones on. I'll hear all of this instrumentation and stuff, and that's where it gets tricky remembering. Or like the other night, I heard an acapella song, but it had a very strange chordal structure. Nice input though. I haven't tried singing it out loud. |

on the first question you can try a couple of things to stay asleep 1. spin 2. close your eyes this works for me when i know i am close to waking up and it keeps me in the dream. sounds like you are just waking up so you lose control of the dream. |
