Creating an HUD (Heads Us Display, or Holographic Overlay)

      Hello friends and fiends!

Have you heard of a HUD? This is a concept from science fiction which is now hi-tech reality reserved for a few elite warriors on the planet, like Iron Man, the Master Chief, Samus, and Shadow Government Super Soldiers. I got this idea from Mylynes.
An HUD is a holographic display transmitted to the inside surface of a helmet's face shield which is transparent, and can only (usually) be seen by the one wearing the helmet.

I made one of these in a lucid dream the other night, and projected the holograms outward, and then inward. I was lucid the whole time I had the HUD up. My goal is to have an HUD up 100% of the time in my dreams, so I can use it as a dream sign.
My HUD has bars on it which display: Life Energy, Magic Energy, Time Remaining. There is also a Radar indicating allies and enemies near, an Astral Parasite Indicator, a Location Indicator, and a Lucidity Wheel.
The Lucidity Wheel is a spinning circle which says, "You are Dreaming."

Have you ever made an HUD in dreams? Please post the DJ entry here if you have!
What will you put on your HUD if you make one?

Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way

This sounds like the coolest thing to use in dreams ever.

I haven't tried this, but I have had thoughts of it before. Now that I know it's possible, I'll have to try this out sometime soon.

That's cool, i've always thought of having a "Time remaining" bar or a "Lucidity percentage" bar and a "Control percentage" one which is basically how much control you have over your dream, i haven't had those in a lucid dream, but i had the Time remaining one in a non-lucid dream. I've also thought about Lucidity pills and control potions and i'm going to try and create them in my next lucid dream. My guess is that they're gonna work if i want them to so..

That is pretty cool. How accurate is the time remaining one? I have thought about something like this before, but never thought of it inside an LD. Might try that tonight. :3

Been looking for some new stuff to try. Been getting better at a few tricks and feel like going away from them for a while. Should be able to use that to find that witch (or witches if there is more than one).

I like the idea of having it for all dreams as a quick way to start all dreams lucid.

The time remaining was numbers made of symbols that I only can read in my dreams. In the dream, I understood, but if I saw those symbols right now, I couldn't tell you what it meant, only that it meant a word that means something like time-energy remaining.

I used to have HUDs naturally without even attempting it. As a powergamer, I have gone on binges where I played a game waaay too much without breaks. Sometimes this would result in the game being carried over into the dream, where I would continue playing. I have even had 2d dreaming games as a direct result of this. In fact, not long after I got super mario world for snes back when it was still fairly new, I got really into it and dreamed that I was in that game jumping on enemies n stuff.

Now my HUD's are more refined, and with me and Alter's new SDRPG we are working on, we are attempting to manipulate the senses of other players and force them to see an HUD in about the same way as we control how they sense the game environment.

That's interesting. Did you know I have been dreaming of you two fuckers invading this SDRPG someone recently made on here called Dreamsphere? In my dream, you decided not to be a regular Player Character, but you morphed into Baphomet, god of the Templars to be my eternal foe. And, Alter is my TK-Combat Master in the game. Fuckin weird, dude!
Yesterday, my imaginary visualization (in other words, not a self-induced hallucination) of my HUD was so strong, I adjusted it in waking life, and knocked something over on the kitchen table.

This is not surprising, though I do not remember it. I tend to reach out more with my subconscious than consciously these days.
