25.02.2010 Stuck in the sea lion tank (Non-lucid)
NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID
I was in my Spanish class. A random guy and I started giving an unplanned presentation which basically consisted of us telling a story where two characters were talking. Each of us spoke for one of the characters. Either he was threatening to fire me or I was threatening to quit.
The bell rang, indicating that it was lunch time. About half the class left, but a bunch of people stayed. I noticed this when I was about halfway out the door (since all of my friends had stayed) and came back, wondering what was going on. Someone told me that our teacher was going to show a video that we needed to watch or we would fail the AP test. Our teacher was annoyed that so many people had left, but I guessed that, like me, they hadn't known that anything was happening.
I decided to stay and started to clear off the chair of one of the desks so that I could sit. However, my friend S came over and said that the desk was hers. Seeing that her name was carved into the desk's surface, I moved to let her sit there. My friends were clumped together in a section. It took me a little while to find a spot to sit that wasn't taken, but eventually we started watching the movie. It started with a scene of Tails fighting someone (and losing). Someone said that the movies we had to watch were Disney movies, which I thought was awesome. I also wondered why we had to be here, though, since most people already knew most of the Disney stories.
Somehow we ended up taking a tour of an aquarium. The guide with us talked about how when they'd first built their new big system of tanks, the animals had rejected it even though all the conditions had been perfect. As he talked, my friend B and I walked down a dimly lit curved hall with a concrete floor. On either side of the hall was a lit tank with fish inside. Sometimes the fish swam over the top of the tank, though, and swam around as though the room were filled with water. We could still breathe and walk normally though, and it felt like air.
We went out of the hall and saw the big tanks that he had been talking about. The water in the tank looked dark, cold, and uninviting. I can't say I blame the animals for rejecting it. A seal popped its head out of the water near the edge, and it seemed happy enough. Then my friend and I were in the sea lion's tank (which was filled with water, but I didn't get wet). Either the guide had told us to get in, or he'd just put us there.
The pool had been made of glass, but it switched to one of those large blue backyard pools. My friend wanted out, so she pulled down on the edge, draining some of the water. The water level didn't seem to actually go down, though. The guide told her to stop because she was wasting water, so she started pulling up the bottom so that the side would roll down the other way. He told her to stop that too, but she ignored him. I tried to stop her, but couldn't.
Then the tank was empty, and there was a scary-looking spider running straight at me. We were still stuck in the tank. I started screaming at my friend to hurry up, even though just a few seconds before I'd been trying to stop her. I blew on the spider to keep it away from us while she tried to get us out, but then a second one came and they alternated running at me. They went really fast, and I was starting to panic because I could barely hold them off. I was worried that more would come, and of course just then two more came. I didn't stand a chance, so I just freaked out while I waited for them to come and poison me to death. They had reached my toes and I was waiting for them to bite me when I woke up.
