      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

There was a guy who had a magical piece of paper. A group of people wanted to take it from him, and he had to keep that from happening. The paper was powerful, but he couldn't use it without his enemies being able to track him (or detect him if they were nearby). However, to escape he had to use it, and then he ran down a street. The dream switched to first person and I replaced him. So I was running barefoot down the middle of a busy street at night. I had to be careful not only to avoid getting run over, but also because any one of the people in the cars might recognize me and attack. I noticed that not many blue cars (or any cars for that matter) were going into the right-most lanes.

Somewhere around here I became lucid, but I kept running. I had a destination in mind in the dream, but looking back I have no clue where I thought I was going. I was running pretty fast though and I wasn't getting tired, so that was fun. There was a stop light up ahead, and after that the road dropped down and turned sharply to the right. To make the turn I would have to slow down, but the light was about to turn red and I could sense that if I didn't hurry I would be caught. I barely made it through the intersection before the light turned red, so I leaped forward out of the way of the cross traffic.

My momentum made me float forward. For a moment I was worried about going too far and not landing on the road, but then I realized I could just fly and let myself get launched over the cliff. I had intended to turn in midair and continue to follow the road, but the view distracted me. Far below it was mostly darkness except for the lights from a small city. It was quite pretty, so I just flew over it for awhile before the dream started to destabilize. I started falling downward, head first; all I could see were colors rushing by. I wasn't worried about the falling so much as that the dream was about to end. I scrambled to stabilize it. "Do I spin? No, that made it end last time. Reach for something, grab something, look somewhere, anything! I need the sun to come out so I can see my shadow!" I felt myself reorient so that I was on my back, and I "landed" back in my bed.

I looked up and my dad was standing beside my bed looking down at me. I was startled, thinking I had put in ear plugs and that's why I hadn't heard him coming. For an instant he said something in a deep, creepy voice, then he disappeared. I was really freaked out for about half a second. Then I realized that it had just been HH. It was spooky, but also kind of cool at the same time. I've never had HH like that before.

      Killer Teddy Bears (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was doing a group project with a person from my school, A, and a DC (who was also from my school, in the dream) at a store/coffee shop. "A" doodled some pretty clouds in her notebook that were very realistic looking. The DC asked when I would be on IM. I thought he was talking to A, but then I realized that he was looking at me, so I said in a surprised voice, "me?!" I think he thought I thought he was flirting with me, because he answered a bit awkwardly, saying that we had to work of the project together.

There was a TV, and the peoson on it was talking about how young Olympic gymnasts drew attention to older proffessional ones like her. She was at least 40 and she was chubby, but she seemed pretty arrogant about her gymnast skills. I wondered how she could even do gymnastics with her fitness level. They said some weird stuff that didn't make sense but that was supposed to be funny, and we realized that it was a comedy show and not a serious channel. At some point the lady and the girl came out of the TV and were standing on one of those blue pads while they talked.

The scene changed, and I was in a place that had a nursery-like feel. One of the little kids there claimed me as his own (which was something akin to getting married), and then he blamed me for anything and everything that went wrong. A bunch of stuffed animals were being controlled by the little boy; he made them attack us. Then he announced that he had claimed one of the other little boys, and that his new partner was the one who was making all the stuffed animals go crazy (which was a lie). I thought it was strange that he had claimed another boy. Apparently that meant he was gay, which I hadn't realized. I didn't have a whole lot of time to think about it though, because my friend B and I were being attacked by stuffed animals.

It was actually pretty neat. The stuffed animal attack was created by the fantasy of a little kid, so it switched between his dream (which had more orangey lighting and killer teddy bears) and "reality" (which had a more sterile feeling and the light was more bright and blueish). The fantasy almost had the feeling of a sweat room; the air looked cloying. At one point the dream became sort of like a stop-motion animation with really slow frames. First there would be a snapshot of the fantasy, then one of reality where everyone had jumped to a new location. After awhile, though, it went back to just being the fantasy. I ran into another room and, knowing that a little kid would jump out at me, pretended to be scared. It was fun to pretend to be afraid when I knew it wasn't real.

      I think my recall's recovered. =)

Aww, but they're so cute! And he did make the dream more interesting. Being attacked by teddy bears is way more fun than just standing around in some nursery. Hmm... I think I might have had another dream last night that also featured bratty kids. And a park.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was at the bottom of a chair lift with my friend. We got on, which was a bit hard because the chairs were going really fast. The lift became a gondola which was going downhill. The gondola stopped, which made us swing upside down.

Then I was at a cottage in the middle of a forest covered in snow. The paths had things so that the little kids couldn't run away, and people were talking about getting rid of them. I was staying in the cottage, in the room for people in wheel chairs. I had a wheel chair, but I could stand up and walk around whenever I wanted to. I felt sorry for my roommate, who was stuck sitting permanently.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was in an online game, and someone (possibly XeL) was showing me how to play, but then he disappeared. I wandered around randomly. There were lots of dimly lit halls, and at one point I found myself in a room with a bunch of paths over a bottomless pit (at least, I couldn't see the bottom). In one spot, all I had to walk on was a little wooden plank. I knew that there were safe spots somewhere in the game world (safe from other players, that is), but I couldn't find any of them. I wasn't too worried about finding them, though, I just had to be careful not to get killed if someone else came online.

Of course, just then another person logged on. I tried not to meet up with him, and ended up back in the main chamber. It was a big room with a tile floor covered in about a foot of water. In the center of the room was a raised concrete platform/stage. There were other raised concrete platforms around the edges of the room, where ever there was a hallway (the platforms made so that the halls were dry). All the halls were dark, so I couldn't see what was inside them. For awhile, I just stood there, not sure what to do.

Then the other player appeared and attacked me. I tried to escape by running into one of the halls, but my character was Bowser, so I couldn't jump high enough to get onto the platforms. I tried to dodge his attacks (which should have been possible despite Bowser's slowness, because he was also Bowser), but he went into his shell and then used a spinning attack on me. I got KO'd and went out of the game.

Someone apologized and said that that was a robot designed to target and take out newbies, and that they were going to ban it now. I went back into the game, this time bringing my mom with me to show it to her, but she wasn't impressed.

Then we were back outside of the game, and it made sense that I could do magic. We were in a house, so I decided to try to make it rain. I focused on it, and somehow I ended up in a car and it was pouring rain. I looked out the window and made the rain stop. I felt super cool. The feeling reminds me of when I breathed fire in another nonlucid dream.

We got out at the hospital. My mom's doctor (Yang from Gray's Anatomy =P) tried to give her something, but my mom insisted on taking a bathroom break first. The thing she had was some sort of electronic magnet suction cup to put on a fridge. Apparently it had only been produced briefly before being discontinued, but she had managed to get one.

Then we went into the hospital, and there were a bunch of dead/stuffed animals to placehold for the real ones that you could buy there. They were all pretty creepy (they were fantasy creatues, like what you'd find in video games), but the most memorable were the giant spiders. They had a bunch of both the spiders and spider larvae (which were like littler giant spiders with less legs). I remembered that time when we'd had one of the spiders and it had laid an egg sack on my mom's arm. We had to move it to a permanent location manually, which was hard because the spiders stung us. I read the price tag and it said that they costed $12. I was glad that we weren't getting any.

      I liked this dream. =)

My mom got upset when I showed her diablo 2. That was 6 years ago.... and I still haven't shown her a single video game ever since

Driving in a dream... Safely?! (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Well, comparatively safely anyway. I was driving down a six-lane (three each way) street with a speed limit of 35 mph, and I was thinking about taking the driving test. For once I was actually in control of the car; I could easily locate the steering wheel, gas, and brakes. Overall, I was not as big of a threat to society as I normally am (in dreams, that is; I don't drive too badly when awake). Well, except that I realized about 5 times that I was going the wrong way and had to figure out how to turn around. In my defense, there were a lot of other cars who were also going the wrong way and also struggling to make a bunch of turns that aren't normally made (because people don't normally go the wrong way), so in addition to figuring out which way was correct I had to avoid crashing into them.

Oddly, looking back I realized that I was always driving on the right hand side of the road, which is also the correct way where I live, but in the dream I was going the wrong way. When I realized I had to go the other way, I both went to the other side of the street and turned the car around, so that I was still on the right hand side of the road. However, then I was going the correct way. In retrospect I'm not sure how that made sense, because it definitely was not a one-way street, but it was completely logical at the time.

In the driving test, you got extra points if you went fast, say 10-20 mph over the speed limit. So of course, I thought it would be good to practice for the test and go fast. For the most part I stayed in control. I drifted out of my lane a bit at one point because there was a pole coming out of my lane. Oh, and when I did that and looked ahead I saw that there was a big truck coming straight at me, although for once I was the one going the correct way. I managed to avoid hitting it. The dream switched between 1st and 3rd person a bit around here.

Then my older brother was driving and I was out of the car. He went onto the freeway, then off on one of those loopy ramp exits. For the most part, he stayed between the lines, although he often swung a bit wide on the loops and almost crashed into a wall once. I was glad I wasn't in the car with him.

One of my ice skating teachers was there with us. I'm not sure what she was doing, but she may have been teaching us how to drive.
(I know that probably no one here knows her, so you'll have to take my word that that is a very scary thought). One of the people in my class was leaving, so he and my teacher hugged goodbye.

Man... And this is my safe driving! xD I had this dream during a nap that I hadn't exactly planned on taking.

Where'd you learn how to steer?
You do 80 in second gear
When you drive, I can't relax
Got your license from Cracker Jacks
      You just hit another tree
These fender benders are killin' me

      She drives like crazy
      Like no-one else
      She drives like crazy
      And I'm afraid for myself

      They'll put you behind bars
      We're not playin' bumper-cars
      Did a great figure eight
In the middle of the Interstate
      Tires squeel wherever we go
      Even hitchhikers just say "no"

      She drives like crazy
      Her car's a mess
      She drives like crazy
      She's got a death wish, I guess

She's a demon behind the wheel
      Thinks she's drivin' the Batmobile
      Burnin' rubber in school zones
      Runnin' over the traffic cones
      Passin' semi-s on the right
Now my knuckles are turnin' white

      She drives like crazy
      She'll break our necks
      She drives like crazy
      She always gets into wrecks
      She drives like crazy
      Like no-one else
      She drives like crazy
      Now I'm afraid for myself
      She drives like crazy
      Like no-one else
      She drives like crazy

      Stabilization (MILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

The dream started with me trying to think of ways to start a dream. I sorta kinda had a dream body, but I wasn't exactly in the dream. I started running around and spazzing. I think I ran on the wall a bit. It worked, but I felt like I was on the verge of losing lucidity. Thinking just felt like too much work, but I forced myself to do a bunch of reality checks so that I would stay lucid. I decided to stabilize the dream again, and then I reality checked. My lucidity was stable, but I was still a bit worried about the dream ending, so I started running around looking at things while I tried to think of what I wanted to do.

I realized that I was cold, and then I noticed that I wasn't wearing any pants. I thought about putting some on so that I would be warmer, but I didn't want to. Why? Because if this is was dream, then I was going to run around with no pants just because I could. Really, how often do you get to run around half naked?

When I looked in front of me (still trying to stabilize) it looked like everything was warped. My vision rippled and swirled a bit, like when you have that shiny rainbow oil on top of water and then it moves around slowly.

Upstairs, my brother woke up. I told him not to come down because I didn't want him to see me half-naked. I was still lucid, but I thought that maybe I was sleepwalking. Never mind that I've never sleepwalked in my entire life, and that my brother is 8 hours away by car.
I started doubting that I was dreaming, but a reality check cleared it up again. I decided that I wanted to run around and/or wander outside. My mom came home, and I decide to walk through the door. It didn't work, but somehow I did end up outside. Either the dream jumped me there, or I opened the door and went out.

It was quite warm because we were in Serbia, even though everything looked the same as it does in California. My mom showed me a diagram of the truck full of souveniers she'd brought back from her trip to Serbia. It was so huge that I was like, "wow, you brought home the whole country." I realized that my vision was kinda tunnel-y, so I tried to look up at the sky so that I would be able to see more.
      The dream ended.

      Only at graduation parties :3

I wish I'd stop doubting so much in dreams. I dunno if there is some sort of training you can do in real life to prevent yourself from dream blocks such as: doubt, regret, caution, etc.

Grats on the MILD! It almost sounds like a WILD to me though

Hmm... There might be. I guess if you believe in yourself IRL then you'll be more likely to believe in yourself in a dream. So I'd imagine that building confidence in dreams would be similar to doing it IRL.

It was a bit like a WILD, except that I was unconscious for 4 hours before the dream started. =P I guess I just noticed when the dream started.

Yeah me too! That's what's been waking me up from my LDs lately. Not excitement, but the doubt. I have an argument with myself everytime I realize I'm dreaming. It's like I think, "I'm dreaming!" and my brain says, "No you're not!" then I say, "But I am, because of such and such," and my brain says, "Trump!" and wakes me up

      Independent Study (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was talking with my older brother on IM in a public chat room. We talked about hitting each other with books and how big the independent study textbooks were. Then we started naming and drawing all the fault lines in California. Turns out there are quite a few. A few other people in the room joined us in thinking up fault lines. Our conversation was accompanied by little visual tangents. Like when we talked about the big books, I saw myself hitting him. Then I saw a big blue book about horses, which led to some other scenes that had horses in them before going on to the fault lines. At the end of the conversation I saw my brother pulling apart a piece of fried fish. It looked really tasty.

      Glad you like them.

I reality check randomly throughout the day (mostly out of habit), and I try to RC whenever I notice something strange. I probably don't reality check as much as I should. =P

Stuck in the sea lion tank (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I was in my Spanish class. A random guy and I started giving an unplanned presentation which basically consisted of us telling a story where two characters were talking. Each of us spoke for one of the characters. Either he was threatening to fire me or I was threatening to quit.

The bell rang, indicating that it was lunch time. About half the class left, but a bunch of people stayed. I noticed this when I was about halfway out the door (since all of my friends had stayed) and came back, wondering what was going on. Someone told me that our teacher was going to show a video that we needed to watch or we would fail the AP test. Our teacher was annoyed that so many people had left, but I guessed that, like me, they hadn't known that anything was happening.

I decided to stay and started to clear off the chair of one of the desks so that I could sit. However, my friend S came over and said that the desk was hers. Seeing that her name was carved into the desk's surface, I moved to let her sit there. My friends were clumped together in a section. It took me a little while to find a spot to sit that wasn't taken, but eventually we started watching the movie. It started with a scene of Tails fighting someone (and losing). Someone said that the movies we had to watch were Disney movies, which I thought was awesome. I also wondered why we had to be here, though, since most people already knew most of the Disney stories.

Somehow we ended up taking a tour of an aquarium. The guide with us talked about how when they'd first built their new big system of tanks, the animals had rejected it even though all the conditions had been perfect. As he talked, my friend B and I walked down a dimly lit curved hall with a concrete floor. On either side of the hall was a lit tank with fish inside. Sometimes the fish swam over the top of the tank, though, and swam around as though the room were filled with water. We could still breathe and walk normally though, and it felt like air.

We went out of the hall and saw the big tanks that he had been talking about. The water in the tank looked dark, cold, and uninviting. I can't say I blame the animals for rejecting it. A seal popped its head out of the water near the edge, and it seemed happy enough. Then my friend and I were in the sea lion's tank (which was filled with water, but I didn't get wet). Either the guide had told us to get in, or he'd just put us there.

The pool had been made of glass, but it switched to one of those large blue backyard pools. My friend wanted out, so she pulled down on the edge, draining some of the water. The water level didn't seem to actually go down, though. The guide told her to stop because she was wasting water, so she started pulling up the bottom so that the side would roll down the other way. He told her to stop that too, but she ignored him. I tried to stop her, but couldn't.

Then the tank was empty, and there was a scary-looking spider running straight at me. We were still stuck in the tank. I started screaming at my friend to hurry up, even though just a few seconds before I'd been trying to stop her. I blew on the spider to keep it away from us while she tried to get us out, but then a second one came and they alternated running at me. They went really fast, and I was starting to panic because I could barely hold them off. I was worried that more would come, and of course just then two more came. I didn't stand a chance, so I just freaked out while I waited for them to come and poison me to death. They had reached my toes and I was waiting for them to bite me when I woke up.

      Mudering My Brothers (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

The dream started right after I'd semi-intentionally murdered my older brother. I felt bad, and I wanted to fix it. I was in a kitchen in my house (not my real one though) with my little brother. We started playing with knives, but instead of stabbing each other each of us was holding an orange, which the other person stabbed. I asked if he wanted to fight without the oranges, thinking this would be a good opportunity to kill him too. It was a bit strange, because I didn't really want to kill him, but at the same time I felt no remorse. Killing him just felt like the right thing to do. I concluded that I was possessed, and then I was like, "oh, okay then, that explains it" and continued with my murder plan. However, he said no, probably guessing what I was up to, and my mom came into the room then. My little brother knew that I'd killed my older brother, but he was acting like nothing had happened. My mom may have known, but she was also trying to act normal.

We were leaving for my brother's funeral, but the place we were going was more like a stage. I was supposed to wear something nice, but I wasn't; I had on jeans and flip-flops. My shirt was pretty though. I remember looking down on it and thinking that I'd never seen it before and that I didn't remember putting it on.
(Should have made me lucid...) I thought I'd at least have to change my shoes, but then I saw that my aunt was also wearing flip-flops and figured that it was accptable.

The dream jumped to me being upstairs with my little brother. We were playing a video game where the remote was a cardboard box with cookies inside. Something happened on the screen (either in the game or on TV) that meant that I would also die soon. My little brother gloated, even when I pointed out that he would die soon enough too. I stood up from the chair in front of the computer and pretended to drop dead. I saw my little brother, then waited to die.

Strange... The dream just before this also ended with me waiting to die. o.0
