Advice on dream sign?

So I have finally noticed that I may have a dream sign. My mom (who is dead) is in about 8/10 of my dreams for the past six months. In a every dream thus far I always believe she is really alive (however in most she is sick and sometimes it's like I know she is going to be dead soon, and some she is perfectly fine). I have a few question though, I don't know whether I should focus on making her my dream symbol, one reason is because in some dreams she offers wisdom and I wake up really thinking about what she said. Another is that for awhile I get to be with my Mom thinking she's really alive and it's really nice, even though I have to wake up and realize she's not. The last reason is (and depending on your view of lucid dreaming) I tend to think that sometimes these dream characters are more than just my subconscious. And even if they are I would feel bad to wake up (in my dream) and have to tell her that she's already dead. (I know that sounds crazy!) So I'm just looking for some advice, do you think I should try to make her my dream symbol or just keep it as is? Thanks for reading and any answers!

Sorry about your mom. If it was me, I would not try to make this my dream sign. It looks to me that there is more to this than just a simple dream and I'm happy for you that you having these nice moments with your mom. If she is giving you advice and making you feel good, I would just cherish those dreams. I agree, that some DC can be more than just creations of our mind. And these drams could actually be real visitations. But even if not, these dreams are making you happy and I would just let them play out on their own. The good news is, that you don't need a dream sign. BTW, if you keeping a dream journal, read back your dreams and I'm quite sure, you will find some signs, that you would normally not think of. Dream sign is something, that is both in your dreams and in your waking life. The reason for it is, that you need to do reality check in waking life to a dream sign, so when it shows up in your dream, you automatically do RC and hopefully become lucid. But even better way to RC is at random. That way, even if dream sign doesn't show up in your dream, you still have a chance at becoming lucid. So just RC at random times (each time you remember). And to have even more chances, RC at certain times - like when you walk through the door, open your PC, or anything that you do a lot.
