Well, to set up dream signs, first you need to have a whole bunch of dream journal entries. I see you already have two on this site. Are these your only two thus far or do you have another dream journal elsewhere? Anyway, one needs a whole bunch of dream journal entries, and then one looks for patterns. The patterns may be something obvious, like for example if a large number of your dream featured bathrooms from now on, then bathrooms would become your dream sign. Or it could be a more subtle pattern, like for example, a lot of my dreams are political in nature in one way or another, So once we identify a dream sign or set of dream signs then one needs to look for similar patterns in life, and whenever one sees something like it, do a reality check but even more importantly ask yourself seriously "Is this a dream?" and do not expect the answer to be no -- because if you expect it not to be a dream, then you might assume it is not one, even when it is. If blue giraffes were your dream sign by the way, you might expand your search to include other tall things and creatures especially if they are blue, because it may not be helpful to go through life looking just for something that you can find only in dreams, but rather look for something that you can find in dreams and in waking life. If your dream sign were that you discovered that many of your dreams were taking place in another country, you could start looking in waking life for signs that indicate which country you are in, and regularly ask yourself whether you are in the same country you were in fifteen minutes ago, whether you really remember how you got here, and if this were not the country that you think it is, how might you know? Does that make sense? |

You may say I'm a dreamer.

One thing I saw when incubating dream signs, is that they not necessarily must be from a recent past, I mean, I was able to incubate signs that were not present in my dreams since a very long time (coins, tapes, DC's, etc) and they worked good. If you don't have a very visualization skill, they should be signs which you can easily find during your waking life. |

I have. I've never been able to incubate dreamsigns. I included trying to incubate the question "Am I dreaming?" and also various RCs, but without any success at all. |

My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.
For me, it was like setting a spider net, because of I didn't think just in the dreamsign itself but all things related to it, which helped me to grow considerably my state of awareness. Another thing I use to play during the "Is it a dream?" moment is to recall the dream feeling. However, it looks like these days I'm too tired to think too much about it, or perhaps I'm too lazy to spend more time on the subject. |

^ Spider web. He means a sort of web of ideas associated with whatever the dream sign is - like if it's an old friend maybe think about the car he used to drive, some of his friends, his girlfriend, etc... a web of things associated with that dream sign. |

Perhaps I misspelled "web" with "net" because of I was thinking in setting some sort of network. That way I could find things during my waking life which could remind me to think about my dreamsign. It would be better if it's a whole topic in stead of an isolated object, that way I'm not limited to "find old vinyl records" during a dream to trigger my awareness, and finding the logo of a band in a magazine could get me to the same point. Anyway, the most important thing here, is to trigger my awareness and get to question if it's a dream. |
