Yeah, I wouldn't mind some pony right now.

I, for one, find it extremely....interesting and quite bizarre the connection males have to this children's cartoon. Bronies. Especially compared with the even stranger sexualization of animals, cartoons, or in this case both.

The world has some strange stuff.

I, for one, like the cartoon because it's genuinely funny, and, I don't know, not dull. It's colorful! it's fun! The jokes are good; the plot is well written. The characters are great; the art style is fantastic.

I like to laugh at something other than a dude making a sex or penis joke sometimes. Comedy Central's entire line-up of shows be damned.

The "sexualization" you speak of is, as far as I am aware, the minority of the fans.

But, as people grow up, they start thinking about sex. There's no denying that. People start seeing sex where they can. Males subconsciously size-up every female they see. That, interestingly enough, even includes fictional characters, and TV personalities that we logically know are not real, or that we will never meet. It's just a thing we do.

-and that leads to the "sexualization" of these female characters, that are indeed cartoon characters, but exhibit tons of human-like traits, emotions, and thoughts.

It's not something I'm saying that I condone. It's not something I'm saying I do. I'm just saying it's a perfectly unsurprising and normal evolution of any fan-dom. Some dude is gonna make sexy pictures of his favorite characters, and every one else but the people who've had the same thoughts is gonna think he's weird. That's something you just kind of get used to.

Thus why I try to distance myself from the fandom as much as possible. Though to be honest, a very small minority of those people exist in the MLP community. There's always nuts in a bag of trailmix (That was terrible, sorry >_<).

Guyyysss let's talk ponies. I feel like I should be more hyped for season three than I actually am, maybe this will help. Anyway, I've been meaning to make some original pony music, just... haven't been struck by any inspiration or anything. Plus I think it's hard to incorporate the vocals. I wonder how the pros do that, anyone have a clue?

Technologically hard, or... like... musically hard?

If you mean technologically, you just get yourself a condenser microphone and hook 'er up to the computer with the proper hookups. Musically, just take the key of the song and diddle out stuff on a keyboard or guitar or something and figure out a good feel, then go from there.

To be clear, I'm not trying to pretend like I'm some kind of music expert because I, in no way, am... Just a little advice.

I mean like those songs with seemingly random pony sounds. You know, sogratandpowerful's stuff (Beautiful Heart), fluttershy's lament, flutter wonder, that kinda thing. It baffles me. > w < Initially I tried splicing a sample into a bunch of pieces and sliding them onto the timeline on FL Studio along with the track I started but it sounded so weird and out of place, even though I initially thought it'd sound good. Ahh.

And I don't know why he hasn't answered you. He answered me fairly promptly when I asked him about music... Of course, that was right after "Sunshine and Celery Stalks," too. Maybe he just isn't real active anymore... :c

That could be it. I guess I'll mess around with it a bit more and see if I can come up with something presentable.

Nothing wrong with that. Everyone has their own opinion and it's not to everyone's particular taste. Nothing worse than those that make it out to be the cartoon equivalent of Jesus returning and refuse to let anyone hold a dissenting view.

One thing I would say is that if you only watched the first episode or two, it doesn't give a particularly good indication of the rest of the series. Further the first few episodes are considerably weaker.

As for the characters being cookie cutter... yes, to a limited extent in that they use stereotypical character archetypes on the surface. It's the way that it goes much deeper than that, and the way these are defied that saves them from being cutout characters, at least in my opinion.

I'm starting to like MLP, at first i wasn't sure but i actually sat down and watched episode im impressed
