Inception - the best movie ever made

I have seen inception about 8-10 times and I think it is one of the best movies ever made.
Every time I watch the film I discover more details about everything in the movie works together.
The plot is amazing, not too much action, not too much talking, it is a perfect balance.
The characters are amazing, the lines are so good, the scenes are superb!!!
My favorite line is the part when the team is the underground basement of the chemist's store where all the people are dreaming, and the conversation goes:

Eames: They come here everyday to sleep?
Elderly man: No. They come to be woken up. The dream has become their reality. Who are you to say otherwise.

      What is your guys opinion?

yep, it's definately the best movie I've ever seen. I've seen it 5-6 times or so. Just because it's so amazing.

A very good movie indeed. I watched it in Stockholm with my brothers, we were blown away. Such incredible work.

      And of course, Ellen Page.

Well, there is an animated movie called 'Waking Life' which is one of my favorites too! It's more of a low budget film compared to Inception, but it is just as good in its own way. A movie more similar to inception, in terms of theatrics, I would recommend Matrix 1 & 2, and Shutter Island.

      It's pretty average.

Half of the movie is just spent explaining how the movie is going to work.

Plot is pretty unsurprising. Didn't think there was much depth or food for thought.

      Only one good action scene.

Can't remember any of the dialogue.

The characters definitely aren't amazing; apart from Cob, the others are barely even characterised. The only powerful (and well-acted) character-driven scene is where the business heir talks to his father at the end, and that lasts all of 30 seconds.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but i'm sorry you can't see the beauty in the movie.

They don't even get reality checks right. The spinning top can fail in a dream.

And there's no such thing as a dream-within-a-dream besides. You're just dreaming that you woke up. It's not a separate dream.

Brilliant film, and when Robert Fischer enters the vault near the end to talk to his dad; it always moves me. Don't get carried away though, it still has its flaws.

The one that annoys me the most is that when the van hits the bridge railing then falls to the water, that would really only take about three seconds max for it to drop to the water... And since I believe they say that each level is 20x slower than the last, this would only give Arthur about a minute to make his crazy explosive lift contraption, and would give Eames & co about twenty minutes to set all the explosives round the hospital etc.

Maybe it's possible that Eames could have set all the explosives in 20mins, but if you count up all the time Arthur takes to fight off the guards then fold everyone up with the cables then set the explosives on the lift and fire them, it is much longer than a minute.

I think they say in the film that the van would take ten seconds to hit the water, but that would mean the bridge would have to be like... A kilometer high, which it obviously isn't.

The thing your missing is that it is a film, not a documentary. It's not correct you are right about that but then what you don't understand that if it was based off facts nobody would watch it and it would not make the 300 million $ box office that it did. If you want a movie based on facts... Well there is none

Yeah, if it was completely realistic it would be boring - looking at it from an artistic standpoint I love it even with it's flaws. But hey, I'm open to any other movies if you guys have any movies that you believe are better then Inception and relate to Lucid Dreaming or something similar then please tell.

It was also just shallow, the action scenes have you at the edge of your seat but the film generally lacks the substance I was expecting from Nolan.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

I didn't think inception was amazing, it was good enough but there were some horrible bits I couldn't stand watching.
In the beginning ellen page curves the entire street over itself and people just about notice, later on when they are being shot at they do absolutely nothing to stop it and even worse when the bus is falling they could have given themselves some time by letting the bus float for a while or something??

Now waking life, that is a good movie, I didn't agree with everything but it really brought up some intresting points.

I just watched it again for the 3rd time, and it is absolutely astounding every time! My favorite scene is the scene with Timothy "Speed" Levitch, on the bridge, he says

"An assumption developed that you cannot understand life and live life simultaneously. I do not agree entirely, which is to say, I do not exactly disagree. I would say that life understood is life lived. But, the paradoxes bug me, and I can learn to love and make love to the paradoxes that bug me, and on really romantic evenings of self, I go salsa dancing with my confusion. Before you drift off, don't forget, which is to say remember, because remembering is so much more a psychotic activity than forgetting. Lorca, in that same poem said that the Iguana will bite those who do not dream, and as one realizes that one is a dream-figure in another person's dream - That is self-awareness!"

BTW this is referring to waking life in case you are confused.

I thought it was really good. Something that really struck me was how seamlessly (inside the plot anyway) that Nolan blended factual dream aspects (like lucid dreams) with things that are either made up or not proven yet (like shared dreams). It was enough I'm sure that many people went home and looked up facts about dreams after seeing it. Not the best movie ever made, but I thought it was very good.
