As far as the big monster is concerned, the people on imdb have been going nuts about it, for months. That pic that you posted has been brought up, many times, but they also have speculated on about 5 other creations from the conceptart website. In the end, you're right, none of us know. From the trailer shot that shows the legs, between the buildings, I'd definitely say that there is a tail or back-section, though, that's bigger than the bi-pedal centaur(ish) picture.

Dunno, but I can't freakin wait to find out. Haha.

Haha I've heard about ten different names of people that were supposedly in charge of designing the Cloverfield monster. More hype! It's all hype! Haha. That's how I found the hype...on imdb it's all so stupid really. My favorite theory is the Power Rangers thing, that video cracked me up, did you see it? I was actually convinced for a minute that it COULD be a Power Rangers movie after watching that youtube video. Mkay I'm rambling, I'm high.

This movie does look interesting. But, the one thing that worries me is. In the preview the camera is shaking throughout the whole thing. If the whole movies is filmed with the camera shaking all over the place like that. I'm not going to want to watch it at all.

Here's a review on rottentomatoes from a guy that (allegedly) went to a Michigan State University screening. I was pretty selective about some of the stuff that I read because, while I was looking for information, I didn't want to ruin too much for myself. Haha. He's pretty thorough though, so I have a feeling his review is real. But he does give credence to the same image that I posted, when someone asked him about it.

All in all, I hope it's more like the weird one that I posted, than most of the others that I've seen. I think it's an awesome design.

You lie. You'll be holed up in a dark theater, watching that monster go apeshit on the city, just like the rest of us. Haha.

I mean what good is even watching a monster movie, at all, if you can't see it on a massive screen?

This movie is 80 minutes...are you freaking kidding me???? That is so not even worth $2. Psh!

Psssh. For someone as into the entertainment industry as you are? I'm slightly disillusioned that you wouldn't take the risk for a movie that looks to be a pretty damn good experience.

But oh well. To each his own.

I'm kind of excited about this movie after reading that guys posts.

First you should know this...I am extremely picky about what movies I see in the theater. I think that movie tickets are way over priced and I refuse to spend that much on a movie unless I absolutely MUST see it. In the past year I've only paid to see Sweeney Todd and Order of the Phoenix!

But honestly what the hell can you accomplish in 80 minutes? From what I've read, you never find out any background info on the monster, which is extremely lame. It's all from the blair witch camera perspective, so you don't get any of those kick ass "glory shots" of the monster. Here's what I get from the movie...there are some friends, there's a monster that arrives, the friends try to save each other, the monster destroys stuff and kills people, movie over. WTF? Definitely not up my alley, sorry.

Now, if it was like, 80 minutes of extra scenes that never made it into the Order of the Phoenix I'd be there in a heart beat!

I can't argue with that. I think movie tickets are extremely over-priced. I often argue with myself over whether or not I'm willing to pay for a movie. There are some that I just feel that I've got to experience on the big screen.

My main gripe (so far) is the time. It is short as hell. With all the viral marketing, they'll probably pull some stunt where they explain more about the monster outside of the actual movie. I dunno. Maybe they just leave it all up to interpretation. The good thing is, I've already known about that aspect, so I won't go in expecting an explanation. So, in that respect, I'll be no more disappointed with it than I am now...which...meh...*shrugs*

Definitely unconventional, but I'm pretty excited to see what the Blair Witch angle on a massive monster attack will look like. From what I hear (read) from people who have seen screenings, it's really intense and does a great job of making you feel like you're right there in it. There's also aerial footage of the monster in the middle of the day, where you see the whole thing in all it's "glory." Hehe. But I won't know how good it is until I see it.

Lol yeah, I always read reviews and spoilers for films but with this one I was going to just wait and see until it comes out. I wikipedia'ed? it to see if the monster was shown (thats the one spoiler I would like to see) but knowing my luck I read the entire story
