Lion King, Aladdin, and did anyone see Sword in the Stone?? About King Arthur? I LOVED that movie. I watched it recently too, and it was still really good, but from a completely different perspective.

yeah, sword in the stone was pretty sweet. I remember liking that one quite a bit when I was little too. Especially the squirrel part

Excuse me if Lion King has been second nature to me for some time now, but now days I am more interested in the meanings of movies like Kill Bill where you're self is forced to see the dark and the good all mixed into one person who is struggling and fighting for a life she doesn't yet have. Not to mention all the other things that make it a classic (I can't think of one thing that doesn't). Its breaking completely new ground.

Does anyone ever read books anymore? (Not Dungeons & Dragons shit (which I have read a few myself, but don't remember anything worth remembering))

The way movies are made are supposed to read like a good book. It's funny because just about everything a movie does is trying to capture the feeling that the script or book gives you. Disguising the feeling is another thing.

seriously...the lion king? Try living in these shoes.

Uhhh.... I really don't feel partial to answering that cause... Well... It's totally off topic. Yeah, Kill Bill was good?

fuck yeah. Kill Bill 2 belongs 1 notch over any classic movie like hitchcock or Casablanca(I thought it was a bit over hyped).

Lion King is racist against hyenas. lol

The original ninja turtles cartoons were the shit back in the day.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

I agree that Lion King was ground breaking material, but you can only talk about it so much and its message is fairly simply laid out, where as other movies its not so apparent, so I am asking: why aren't we talking about these other movies?!

Aladdin and Mulan were my favorite Disney movies. I also really liked Lion King and Pocahontas too though.

However, My fovorite cartoon movies as a child were Animalimpics and The Hobbit.

EDIT: I forgot about The Secret of Nimh

cause he was asking about disney movies and in general stuff you liked when you were little but still like...You can make another thread about classic films in general though, Im sure everyone would love to put their 2 cents in there too! Myself included.

Do you mean The Rescuers? (the second one was The Rescuers: Down Under) If so, then yeah, that was a great movie (and a great Audio Book. I used to love that as a kid).

And yeah, Sword in the Stone was good too.

      Let's not forget:

      Alice in Wonderland
      The Jungle Book
      The Fox and the Hound
Beauty and the Beast (what? I thought the Beast was awesome! Could have done without some of the musical numbers, though)

Such a great story. Basically a child's introduction to racial (inter-species) tolerance.

I thought the Lion King was pretty great, and I actually saw it really later on. I also didn't see "The Secret Garden" until way later (actually quite recently), but I loved that movie.

Anyone liked "Jumanji"? How about Pocahontas? Definitely in my top four growing up! Willy Wonka was great too. And how about "The Never Ending Story"? Loved them all.

      *faint*

No one has mentioned Peter Pan or Bambi??? Or Winnie the Pooh???

I gotta say, Peter Pan 2 was GREAT. I didn't think I'd like it as much as the original. But it really was great.
