I watched Jarhead again (I think that's the 5th time in the last week and a half), except this time I watched it with the director commentary by Sam Mendes. Brilliant film..

      Primer.

Such a killer movie. It's all about the hubris, baby.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

A little predictable. But not neccessarily bad for it.
I put off watching that movie for a long time because it seemed like it would be really depressing, but finally caught it on cable one night recently.

Good movie, and yes it was depressing (to me anyway).

All the Harry Potter films up to Half-Blood Prince

Maybe they are good enough, but because I had just read the books not long before, they absolutely sucked.
It's like they read the book, chose the Top 5 Important Events and filmed them, slapped them together and said bam, movie!
Everything that could possibly be left out and then some was left out mercilessly.

      Too little time :<

I just discovered the spellbinding work of Hayao Miyazaki, and have been quickly rendered an ardent fanboy. I've seen 3 of his works so far and there all masterstrokes of genius. Looking very much forward to the others.

I watched Der Baader-Meinhof Komplex last night. It's all about the formation of the Baader-Meinhof Group, or RAF, in West Germany during the 70s. It was really interesting.

I saw The Treasure of the Sierra Madre last night, and it turned out to be a bit different than what I was expecting. It turned out to be a psychological study of how people can change when they're consumed by greed and the lure of more wealth. Humphrey Bogart was really good as we get to see him descend into paranoia and pushed over the edge. A really great movie, and I give it an 8/10.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs--hilarious! I couldn't tell you a movie recently that cracked me up that much.

The Book of Eli. Go see it if you want to see Denzel Washington mess some people up.

      Twilight

I thought it was going to be like an action type movie, but it ended up being pretty damn good.

I'll watch the second one soon.

I hear ya'! This is hell funny. Especially at the end where the find the camera and look at all the pictures. Also the tiger part pretty funny.

Anyway recently I saw the Island on tv. It was pretty good, in fact it was great. Nice ending where they all escape into the real world. Although I kind of got sick of all the fighting and action. I wanted a bit more depth, rather than just a wild goose chase. Although the end chase was kinda good. I would rate it 2 and a half outta 3.

I just saw "I love you beth cooper" for the 3rd time. I havent seen it 3 times by choice, its just my girlfriend really really likes that movie.

Its OK. Was good the first time. Worth watching if you havent, but not worth a second go unless you wait about 3 months in between.
