I don't think he meant that literally. What he meant is that the brain is the "soul". Matt didn't "switch" souls on Sylar, he changed the brain/memories, we actually saw a nifty animation going with that.

At the end of season 3 Mohinder went on about the invisible thread and everything being connected, etc. Basically he was hinting towards Sylar's transformation: change someone's memories and body into another's, and you get that another.


About the last episode, I take my hat off to Matt. Just as I was thinking he didn't have the guts to kill himself and Sylar, he goes and pulls that police stunt.

What I didn't get is how Nathan flew. Supposedly he doesn't have that power, but I guess the explanation is going to be something along the lines of Sylar having emphatically taken the flight ability while fighting Nathan or something.

Even if he didn't mean it literally, if there is no metaphysical 'soul' in heroes, the essence of who Nathan is is now in Sylar. (Just like the essence of Sylar is in Matt.) So, Nathan isn't dead. Again.

Sure Sylar nicked that from Nathan right before he killed him at the end of the last series. Nathan (the real one) flies back in the window, then Sylar lands after him, and cuts his throat. He must have figured out how to take people's powers without killing them, like he did with Elle. Of course he then cut open her head anyway which doesn't make much sense...

True! lol But I thought there wouldn't be any point in doing the thing he does to steal powers when he already has the power. I suppose if he just wanted to kill her he might as well do the usual anyway.

So where's Sylar now?

Indeed. Peter just got ALL of Sylar's abilities by taking/absorbing them from "Nathan". Peter owns now. LOL@that deaf chick who sees sound as color. But UGH! Hiro is such a stubborn MF. He just couldn't wait so Peter could heal him... now he's probly going to die.

Edit: Now that I think about it.. where is Sylar? He's not in Matt, and "Nathan" is still somewhat himself.

wow that was a really good episode. I understand now why Samuel wants lots of special people around him. I was a little disappointed though at the end I thought there would have been a big fight between Sylar and Peter. I wonder if Nathan is still there or if Sylar is pretending to be Nathan for some stupid reason. Its funny that Matt is back at work as a cop after what he did, you'd think he would have to use his power everyday fooling people he didn't do it, because so many people would know.. not to mention the paperwork/pictures/newspapers that would be lying around about him. And I wonder what Hiro did to Dr. Suresh, how did he end up in a mental hospital?? Its a pity that Peter can't heal Hiro anymore

Looks like Sylar's body might choose not to reunite with his mind. Would be funny to have Sylar's body become a good guy and fight against his evil mind.

I watched the first part of a miniseries called "The Lost Room" last night, and if you like heroes, you'll love this. The powers reside in ordinary objects from this room, anyways it's really good. The physics of the powers are much more consistent than heroes, and better used in the plot.

oh that was lame! i wanted Peter to kick Sylars ass! wheres the epic battle? sigh. I bet they will find a way to heal nathans body and get him back in there.

i'm totally loving this season. it seems like, imo, all of the characters are less annoying and more developed. like claire? this is the first time i've actually kinda liked her. i've been pretty okay with mohinder's absense. well, for the most part he's been absent except in brother's keeper. i liked the brief appearance of mr. muggles in thanksgiving as well. that was definitely one of my favorite episodes series-wise so far. it had tons of really kickass character moments, without having nonsensical action scenes.

anyway, love this season... which is actually season 4, btw.

Lol@Claire - "They faint!". But yeah, it's really getting good. Anyone been watching the "Slow Burn" story online? It's VERY interesting.

anyone know what Samuel's plan is? by the sounds of things he just wanted to move the carnival into the mountains, which i thought he could do already.

I'm always fooled by Samuel. He acts like one of the nicest characters on the show, yet he's the biggest asshole on the show. And Sylar? He used to be my favorite character. But the whole Sylar thing is getting a bit old. I wish he would just drop dead. I lol'd when Amanda killed that one kid Caleb in "Slow Burn".

I'm disappointed with what happened at the carnival. Lydia shouldn't have been written out like that.

Whatever happened to bringing people back to life using Claire's blood?

I mean...there have been so many times where I've been like COME ON! Nathan for example.
