I think opinion is the Euro can't fall as such; the problem countries are also the ones which aren't very economically important. It may be changed though.

I really have no thoughts at all on the Amero... in fact I'd never heard of it before, and naturally it's not a subject Europeans would really care about. My only comment is that I don't think Canada, which I thought was doing quite well, would really like to be involved with all that debt.

As far as I know, its imminence is a rumor. But it's a widespread one, and one that's been touched on by such mainstream outlets as CNN. Some camps say that there is a huge drive toward it. Some camps say that there is no interest in it. But I believe the possibility of such a merger is very real.

Huh. It's not going to happen, our economies are too different. In Europe there is no major economic power, whereas here, the USA's economy dwarfs both of our neighbours. Even though there are wealthy countries in Europe like France and poor ones like Turkey, the relative difference is not like the difference between the US and Mexico.

It would be nice though, it theoretically will force republicans to be more aware of the national debt and try to manage it instead of letting it run away.

I'm actually surprised to see so many of you supporting this. This is one of those topics I just haven't kept up with (I mainly followed health-care and illegal immigration). I was kind of scared about WikiLeaks when I first heard about it, because I thought it may be possible that there are just some things that may be harmful to the military and its personnel.

But if it means that if someone is being corrupt, we have an easier way of knowing about it. If they want to cover it up, fuck them.

I know that Hal Turner has perpetuated the rumor, by telling some of his hoax coins to be actual ameros, but how do you know he was the one who created the Amero 'rumor'? From what I've seen (& shown), the rumor goes far beyond Hal Turner. The only reason he got to creating the lie about having the coins is because the rumor was already circulating.

I'm personally very supportive of the leaks. I don't care if it hurts personnel. The exposition of massive underlying lies and malpractice that has caused much death surely can't be outweighed by the potential endangerment of a few lives. Scare tactics to stop people from seeing some truth about secretive government practices.

Interpol just put Assange on their Most Wanted list for those alleged sexual assault charges from Sweden.

He should just go to Switzerland. I heard from a friend that they wouldn't hand him over unless they had clear proof of criminal activities. Moving from place-to-place might be a better idea than holding up in Switzerland, though.

Obviously they didn't stop at the first time it created a buzz, and I say good for them. Most of the stuff I heard about that was leaked, the government said it was secret because it might embarrass them. All I have to say, is being embarrassed isn't a national security concern. If the government is going to keep holding back information, people are going to keep poking around in it. They need to learn that they have to share everything, unless it has a direct security concern. If its troop movement, or new weapon systems, that is classified information. If its some official from china talking smack about the us, that isn't classified information.

Apparently Assange has tried to talk to Swedish authorities to discuss the charges against him but they aren't talking to him. Amazing.

Also Wikileaks changed servers today because the old one shut them down.

actually i think the only thing we censor are child porn site (obvious reasons). Although i just tried getting onto wikileaks and my browser came up with an error.

the recent "internet censorship laws" were rejected because nobody could be bothered the sign up for their free porn sites (I don't know what the real reasons were, something about how kids would just hack through it anyway)

If you ever have problems using the wikileaks domain name try using the IP, im from the UK and the wikileaks domain name doesnt work for me either, but the following does:
