The thing is, if you followed Anonymous more closely, you'd know exactly what their plans are and which ones are simply associated with them by some random guy. I'm also curious how a hacker organization is supposed to convince everyone to drop their bank accounts.

Anonymous is not a single set of individuals. Why is that so fucking hard for some people to understand?

Yeah, but it kinda is. It may be amorphous at the edges, but there is certainly a core group of people behind it.

Amen! (I can't think of a non-religious word that fits better.) It's nice that people can survive functionally without the internet; I actually enjoy my life better without the internet but it keeps SUCKING ME BACK IN!

A blackout does not mean they will go down. It means they will give you a page explaining SOPA, and likely post a link to email your Senator directly from the site, provide their phone number. Facebook and google both have SIP phones, it is likely they will offer you a way to call the senators directly from the page without having to use your phone. The tumblr blackout had a button to go back to the normal page, FB and google most likely will too.
