This is gonna get jumped on most likely,and im sure i will look heartless blah blah... so be it. I disagree with people who do those appeals of " my child is sick send him to disneyworld please donate x amount of dollars" I have no problem with charitable giving. I donate money to a charity every month from my wages. I have no problem with people asking for money to help a sick or dying child. However how is sending them ( and prob their whole family) to disneyworld a justifiable cause? yes yes the child is sick and having a rough time, and yes it would be a great treat for them, but why not ask for money for something that lasts more than 2 weeks to make their life better, My career is leading me into the occupational health field, its based around sick, autistic kids,and i would love them all to go to disneyworld and have a great time, build memorys and enjoy themselves, But what i want more ( and would for my own child) is them to have the best equipment, the most comfortable enviroment to live in, the best sensory room, the best garden to play in, and the best medical treatment, surely instead of giving them two weeks of fun ( which of course the parents, siblings and great aunt three times removed benefits from) they should be asking for money to give them the best life they can overall. Of course if the child is dying it is a slightly different story. What are your thoughts,feelings on this?
