If you use emotion, it is definitely not the same... However, are you maybe able to give yourself goose bumps? That is very emotion prone...

I used to be able to give myself goosebumps, now it's like there's a subtle warm electric current running under my skin, ABOUT to become goosebumps but not as intense.

I find I can induce this the most easily when breathing very slowly-- it's really awesome to be able to have such control over your body like this. After studying Kungfu for 7 years, Qi has become less of a stranger of a concept to me. It's an amazing tool, everyone should learn to use it. For everything.

      @snowman905,

This sounds [U]exactly[U] like what i feel. The feeling focusses around the lower back/belly and leggs, though it induces spasms in the arms as well (trydoing this for 20 seconds, your whole body will go haywire)...

      Greets,

I do this sometimes especially when I need to move fast and focus. During a rush at work I turn it on sometimes, idk how to explain to do it

I can produce some sort of harsh adrenaline rush in my chest, which then goes down to my legs. It's hard to breathe when I do this and my heart rate goes up a bit, but it's 100% voluntary. I'm not sure if that's what this is, but...

When you use the adrenaline, does it feel like your body is kinda of shaking? If so, it must be it.

Then you are using adrenaline. The more you practice it through meditation or other ways, you will get more of a feeling with it. You heart will react to it but if you have a heart condition, don't try to hard.

Basically, fear, anticipation, anxiety, excitement, pain, all release adrenalin.....this isn't a relaxed state of being, it is symptomatic of sympathetic nervous system stimulation. That is, it is the flight-or-fight response. It is, fundamentally, an anxious state, but a very aware state.

Super saiyan.... interesting, for it would typically occur just as you begin to engage in a fight (or watch one for that matter).

Another way to release it is to drink loads of expressos.

I've experienced two phenomena similar to the descriptions everyone has posted in this thread, although it sounds like some are describing one and others describing the other.

To induce an adrenaline rush, having played football, it helps most to envision myself quite honestly just doing awesome while playing, or really any daydream scenario in which I do something that requires physical action and awesomeness. The feeling is literally identical to adrenaline, and I've never questioned whether it was or wasn't. My hands get cold and clammy, I get a bit shaky, my heart beats a lot faster, and I breathe faster. I also get the specific adrenaline feeling, idk how to really describe it, but it's highly distinctive and it's one in the same.

The second feeling begins in the base of my neck. It sounds more like what people have been describing is Qi. It's like I think of certain things that are enjoyable (nothing in specific, it just happens) or kind of just focus on this feeling in my spine, though mostly in my neck, and it's as if a surge of tingly (not painful, more like almost euphoric) electrical energy jolts down my spine. The feeling spreads, mostly over my head, and is very tingly but it makes me feel very awake and aware. Usually the "jolt" is strong enough that I contort my body in some way, usually just my neck. Kind of what a tic would look like I guess. I've learned to do it without contorting so much, just a very limited movement in my neck when it occurs. The tingly feeling usually lasts 4 or 5 seconds.

The two might both be a result of adrenaline, but the latter does not have the distinctive feeling of adrenaline at all. I feel like the first is legitimately inducing an adrenaline rush, and the second is... something entirely different. I spoke to my friends about it once and they said every once in a while it happens to them (they said nothing of inducing it), and they referred to it as a "brain tickle".

      Finally!

      Hey guys,

Like most people here, I've been able to do this since I was really young, and used to practice it and have done it every now and then over the years but never mentioned it or tried to research it until recently. I recently started to describe it to friends and relatives in conversation, but nobody seems to REALLY know what i'm talking about, so I Googled a few things. Its been really hard to find anything on it because its so hard to explain, but finally I've found this!

The way it feels for me, is exactly how everyone else describes it. I can do it at any given time, instantly, and don't have to be relaxed or anything to do it. The longer I do it, the more intense it gets, and for me it always starts to feel a little bit unpleasant/uncomfortable/freaks me out so I have to stop, and as soon as I do it wears off straight away.

For me it feels like a rush or similar to 'going over a hump bridge'. as someone else mentiones, but It also feels like a kind of sinking feeling. I can only manage about 10 seconds. If I do it over and over again without any time in between, its less intense each time and I struggle to maintain it. Ive also never thought about the ways it could be used. Havent tried lifting anything or 'powering up' yet but I'll try it in the gym tomorrow.

I'm really glad i've found this thread, and i'd love it to lead to some kind of study/more information. Maybe there's never been any interest because not enough people have spoken about this? I feel like I'd like to send the link to this thread to some expert, but when we don't really know where its coming from, where do you start?

put on some music that makes you want to kick someones ass and have a hot women watch me workout and that will increase my adrenaline when tired.

fitness is my passion anyway so i really don't need to force an adrenaline rush unless i'm tired. it happens effortlessly.

I can evoke this "rush" feeling too... except I think I do it in a slightly different way - kind of like flexing my PC's.

To me, it feels somewhere between an orgasm (on lower spectrum of intensity), falling, and an adrenaline rush. It's good to see that I'm not the only one who's able to experience this sensation on-demand.

This is an interesting topic. While I have never conciously willed an adrenaline rush, I'll have to try that. Now would it be the same as a music "high" when you run as you feel energised by it? It seems to give you a bit more energy to run faster.

It's like this: your heart beats autonomously, and you can't will it to beat slower or faster directly, say, like you can with your breathing. However, you can influence its speed by vigorously thinking about particular things - for instance, it's generally found that when thinking about Hitler, one's heart rate will increase, and when about babies, it will decrease. So, if you can find your 'stimulus' that activates this fight/flight response, then it's just a matter of visualising this as intensely as you can, or feeling that stimulus strongly. I'm trying to find what does the opposite of this and gives me strong parasympathetic activation rather than sympathetic activation.

I can do the adrenaline rush thing too. I've also noticed my pupils dilate while I do it.

And Symp, what are the side effects? What is the cap you mention?

      Some adverse side effects

I won't go into too much detail, but I do know three or four others who can do this in addition to me. Iv'e seen overuse before, and it gets pretty bad if you are careless. Do it too often, and it becomes hair trigger sensitive, the slightest emotional spark sets it off, which wouldn't be too bad if the other two most obvious side effects were emotional instability and diminished intelligence. I'm not making this up, or trying to scare anyone...do it too much, too often, and too strong and you will experience a sudden drop of brainwaves in certain parts of the brain.

I've looked this up with only limited success on finding out what it is, but I have found out that it's not just me that can do this. So I ask...

Do you know what I'm talking about or do I just sound crazy?

Do you know what this is, exactly?
That actually sounds pretty awesome. o.o I'm starting to think drugs are totally useless if you know how the body works, and how to exploit it. o.o And sorry, I don't know anything about it. The closest thing I've done to that is inducing an adrenaline rush by eating an especially painful habanero.

Never heard of that before, sounds really intresting! I can't really do it at will the adrenaline rush if it's even that what im feeling.. But when i listen to certain music or a movie, i get these goose bumps. Just searched some more info of it while writing this post.

"Another intense emotional situation that can cause goosebumps is the "fight or flight" response the body can employ in an extremely stressful situation. As the body prepares itself for either fighting or running, the sympathetic nervous system floods the blood with adrenaline (epinephrine)" It's probably this im feeling, might also explain my high metabolism lol.. "a hormone that speeds up heart rate, metabolism, and body temperature" Not sure how accurate wikipedia is though.
